  • "The location and the lodge were beautiful however a shame about a few things that would have made the stay closer to perfect."

Cleanliness - whilst it wasn’t dirty it wasn’t up to the standard I would expect for the cost, dirty windows, cobwebs and dust Train tracks - very close to the train tracks so sleep wasn’t always guaranteed to be restful, alongside the poor quality mattress Fresh water dippIng - this was advertised as available however the platform for this was still under construction on our visit Plenty of pros also, owners were very friendly, location and lodge were beautiful, very relaxing atmosphere and a beautiful part of the country

  • "Upon arrival the host greeted us and ensured he passed on all relative information, including close by dog walks for our dog."

He was very friendly and helpful and also kept the hot tub warm through out our whole stay. The Lodge was absolutely beautiful with lots of little touches and big garden space. We will definitely be returning next year.

  • "Beautiful cabin, friendly, helpful owners."

Wild swimming may be a future thing, but not yet as the stream is small and inaccessible, however, the site is new and that will change, I am sure. Only (tiny) criticism is that some kitchen appliances (toaster, airfryer) are on top of tall cupboards!! Would love to go back sometime xx

  • "Beautiful location and surroundings so peaceful great for a break away."

Loved the space outside the lodge. Lack of storage in kitchen and no real wardrobe space. Feel the listing of the lodge and facilities isn’t correct really does need updating and to inc the train line immediately behind and ongoing works on site (didn’t bother us a we also have a train line nearby to where I live ) Lodge felt un finished needs tweaking needs blinds over main door and high windows also needs steps onto the decking. If you go in summer take fly spray with you! Lovely for a break away.

Dog friendly, nice and close to Rutland aqua park which my girls also loved. The hot tub was fab and the fire pit so cosy. Allan the manager was very welcoming and friendly setting up the hot tub everyday. We had a very relaxing holiday and will defo be back and would highly recommend this lodge.

  • "Myself and my friends had a lovely time here, we really enjoyed the privacy provided when in our cabin / in the garden area."

The cabin itself was lovely, hot tub was fantastic and already heated for us when we arrived! The only thing would be I wish there was a bit of cabinet space for our food that doesn’t belong in the fridge but that’s so trivial anyway, everything else was perfect! Owners were so lovely and would love to come back one day.

  • "Absolutely loved the Lodge and surrounding area."

Really nice owners on site. Hot tub was amazing.. Maybe a welcome pack with information on area and shops , pubs etc and some info on Lodge heating operation would be a nice addition. These are not faults, just trying to help you going forward, one last tip would be to have someone clean windows as this would increase the outlook of the lovely views.
