  • "A lovely, spacious barn conversion in a quiet, secluded location close to the village and within a couple of miles walk along a quiet lane to Marlborough."

The owners had thoughtfully supplied eggs, bacon, milk and apples and a plentiful supply of logs for the woodburner - and the lady owner also came to check that every thing was ok. The grey, misty weather meant that we didn't get the full benefit from the countryside views so we will have to return in, hopefully, better weather next year.

Thank you so much for staying with us and your nice comments.....We hope to welcome you back again with hopefully better weather!!.... Regards Caro & James Property Owner

  • "Thank you for the arrival gifts."

My wife, who is a vegan, thought bacon wasn't the best choice (what if the guests are Muslim, Jewish, and/or vegetarian/vegan?) but we were visiting friends in Newbury and left the bacon with them! I ate the eggs, and we enjoyed the apples. We had a trouble free week, except for the fridge, freezer, and rooter tripping off, and the hot water tripping off a separate time. We flipped the switches back up, and there were no recurrent events, thankfully. It was really quiet, which we loved, and despite the wettest of weeks had good views of red kites, jays and chiffchaff. Astonishingly, two young men from Hi-Low window cleaning service turned up on the wettest day of the week to clean the windows! The workers got soaked - the windows were already soaked!

Thank you for your comments and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay at NineAcres Barn.... Regards Caro &:James Property Owner

  • "9 Acres Barn is beautifully situated for a holiday exploring neolithic Wiltshire and the chalk downs."

We have had a wonderful holiday in this comfortable cottage. We have particularly appreciated the peace and quiet and the well equipped, comfortable cottage. The cottage feels clean, spacious and bright. Please note that if, like us, you are planning to self cater during your holiday, the kitchen does not have a fridge freezer as detailed but a small fridge with an ice box. The double bed is a small double. Thank you for a fantastic week.

Hello....Thank you for your feedback and we are so pleased you had a lovely stay with us at NineAcres Barn and enjoyed the beautiful countryside and wonderful places nearby to visit. We have noted your comments and the Barn has two bedrooms....one has a small double bed and the other has a normal size double bed. Unfortunately we had to remove the original Fridge/Freezer because as it wasn't being used it was overcompensating and freezing everything!!...Thank you for staying with us and we hope to welcome you again soon...Caro & James..... PLEASE NOTE...there is now an additional.seperate freezer in the kitchen... Property Owner

The barn offers tranquility, with close proximity to Marlborough, I was gutted I did not book it for the entirety of my trip. I cannot praise it enough. I will be booking it asap for next year. A rare diamond indeed.

  • "A lot of thought has gone into this lovely cottage, from the food in the fridge on arrival, to the kitchen equipment and the selection of books giving local walks."

It is very freshly decorated to a high standard throughout. We loved the location which was quiet (deer grazing in the garden one evening) yet within walking distance of Marlborough. Our only quibble (which we should have mentioned whilst there) was a very soft (possibly rather tired) mattress in the larger bedroom. We would very happily stay again.

Thank you so much for your kind comments about NineAcres and we are so pleased that you enjoyed the beautiful quiet countryside and all it has to offer... including the deer!...Thank you also for mentioning the mattress which we are in the process of changing.....Thank you once again for staying and we look forward to welcoming you back to NineAcres soon. • "Wonderful place; lovely, peaceful and natural setting."

Quiet. Well equipped. My friend and I stayed 3 nights whilst we walked some of The Ridgeway and was ideal location for that. We both wanted a good soak in the bath after our walk days and I had chosen this property over others because it had a bath. This was the only disappointment. The hot water would not adequately fill one bath without running tepid, let alone two baths consecutively. You feel a bit daft when most of you is above the water line so was unable to linger and relax. Although the owners did suggest a remedy, this didn't really work. First world problems I know but worth mentioning. I would stay again though :)

Thank you for your review and we are sorry to you found the water lacking heat. We have now rectified the problem so now abundance of hot water..Thank you for staying and we are glad you enjoyed your stay ..Caro & James Property Owner
