"We really enjoyed our stay."
The cottage was well equipped. Everything we needed for the holiday. The owners were friendly and helpful and the surrounding area was peaceful and tranquil. Can definitely recommend this cottage.
-
"My daughter and I really loved the cottage and its lovely, peaceful garden, surrounded by sheep fields."
The owners were very friendly and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. We had family staying a few miles away who were able to visit us at the cottage and were also made to feel welcome; the children very much enjoyed coming and seeing the animals. A barbecue was even provided for the evening, although sadly that was the one time it poured with rain! We would definitely recommend the cottage as a lovely, rural retreat and would very much like to return.
-
"We loved our stay."
Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The cottage was well stocked, clean and comfy.
-
"Lovely people on a lovey farm."
. the children played with our 9 year old, the dog was loved by everyone. Peaceful, rural, away from it all location just 20mins from Bristol. Flexible owners ( we stayed an extra night that I don't think we payed for yet?) Would recommend.
-
"Great family Cottage."
Comfortable, clean and parking directly outside. Good walks around the Farm. Ideal place to stay in North Somerset with easy access to Bristol, Bath and the Mendips.
-
"If you’re looking for a little gem where you can hide from the outside world but still have easy access to the areas highlights, then this is the place to be."
Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating and our son loved having the sheep near the back garden. The Old Parlour was cosy with everything we needed and very comfortable beds. Wish we had a longer stay.
-
"Very warm and comfortable cottage."
Lovely hosts.

"Had a wonderful, relaxing stay in this lovely cottage."
It was really homely and comfortable with everything you could ask for when self catering. I was after a peaceful environment where I could rest and recharge, and found this to be the perfect place. Ideally located, to explore the beautiful surrounding areas. The hosts were lovely and welcoming and took the time to give me a guided tour of the farm and village which I really appreciated. Thank you for a lovely stay and I hope to be back again soon.
-
"Lovely clean and warm cottage."
Had everything we needed for our stay. Owners are on site and made an effort to say hello and give recommendations on places to visit/ local places to eat. Handy for lots of interesting places to visit.
-
"The old parlour is a lovely holiday home."
The children loved seeing the sheep and playing in the garden. It is in a quiet location, perfect for a relaxing break. My family had a wonderful time and would happily come back for another visit. Thank you to the owners for being so welcoming and friendly.
-
"Absolutely loved our stay here great location as a base to travel out from."
Jane and Dave were lovely and made us very welcome. Local pub just up the road great food and drink. Would definitely stay at this property again.

-
"A very warm welcome which included gray eggs - helpful and could not have asked for better hosts"
-
"Brilliant stay, managed to do more of the activities I had planned for me and my family because of the central yet rural location."
Loved the personal touches such as fresh eggs and a tour by the local host who knew pretty much everything about the area. If ever return to this area I would definitely stay again.
-
"Thank you for a wonderful stay and first holiday as a family of four!"
The cottage is a great location, around 20-30mins drive from Cheddar, Clevedon, Bristol, Bath and Weston Super Mare so we found plenty to do in the local area. Local pub and restaurant a short walk away. Chew Valley Animal farm was a great day out for us just a short drive away and Chew Magna has some lovely restaurants. Cottage is perfectly equipped and the owners are lovely, welcoming us with fresh flowers and eggs from the farm, as well as a daily chat and recommendations for the area. My son loved the free roaming animals and built a special love for the black lab, Betty, he was very sad to leave her. Bedrooms are great size and the whole place was cosy and like a home from home, we were all very sad to leave and hope to stay again soon. Thank you Jane and Dave for a great week.

"A wonderful stay at The Old Parlour."
Farmer Dave was so lovely, many a chat! Beautiful location, clean & comfortable accommodation. Watch out Bristol has a CLEAN AIR ZONE CHARGE. This affects a lot of journeys to avoid the zone, using single track roads, adding to journey time.
-
"A lovely property."
Clean and comfortable. No frills but good honest accommodation with lovely hosts. Pub serving good food within walking distance. Lots to do in area, walking and Bristol attractions.
-
"A very clean and comfortable property."
Convenient for visiting North Somerset and very pleasant hosts.

"We had a lovely stay at the Old Parlour."
Jane and Dave were warm and welcoming. The place was cosy and we all enjoyed the beautiful garden :)
-
"Excellent location for Chew Valley & the lovely village of Blagdon."
Hosts Jane, David & Ben very helpful & friendly.
-
"Very warm welcome on arrival, with fresh eggs."
Cosy well equipped cottage. Plenty of kitchen utensils. Ice compartment in fridge kept our meat frozen. Don't bring too much though. Lovely rural setting, all the rain over Christmas didn't dampen our spirits. Look forward to our return. Hopefully with better weather. Only comment over our 2 week stay would be a better mattress on the double bed. Bear in mind it is a bit remote & internet may be dodgy. Having said that trying to get anything fixed over Christmas is difficult & was working well when we left. Thank you Jane & Dave for a lovely peaceful holiday.

"We had a lovely stay."
In October 2022.

"We were made very welcome at The Old Parlour by the owners Jane and Dave."
And when I got lost finding the cottage Dave even waited at the gate trying to spot me! Nothing was too much trouble for Jane and David, and we appreciated how clean the cottage was - the cleanest we’ve ever stayed in! It was lovely to have clean linen half way through our two week stay. The cottage was quite well placed for me to make frequent visits to my parents in Midsomer Norton.
-
"We had a wonderful time."
The cottage was perfectly situated for everything we wanted to do whilst in Somerset. It was pristinely clean and we were made to feel so welcome. Thank you Jane, Dave and family

"A very pleasant stay, charming hosts, recommended highly"
-
"We had a Lovely stay in the Cottage, the hosts where super friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them and finding out about the farm!"
Village also beautiful, we can only highly recommend the Old Parlour. Also great to see friends nearby in Bristol and going for country walks!!
-
"Owners friendly, enjoyed chatting with them."
Nice to be on a working farm. Cottage is very comfortable, well presented and the flooring is particularly stylish. Only suggestion would be the installation of a dishwasher.
-
"First impressions are very important and the first impression of this cottage was run down."
It was not is a quiet location, which is what we wanted. 3 cottages together. We experienced noise from the attached cottage, from people standing around talking very loudly and from various vehicles including a motor bike. We had a front door that would not lock, when finally getting in contact with the owner was told you need to lift the door up to lock it! Surely we should have been told this when we arrived
-
"Really comfortable and cosy cottage, situated in a lovely peaceful village."
Plenty of local walks, which we enjoyed despite the weather! This was the relaxing Christmas break away from everything that we were looking for
-
"The sofas have been updated to a lovely cream suite, very cosy."
We had a great time and it’s a lovely area, Jane is also very welcoming but leaves you to it. Cannot go wrong with this property for a peaceful break.
-
"Made to feel most welcome by the hosts Jane & David"
-
"The perfect place to stay for quiet country walks and friendly hosts."
Dave and Jane were very welcoming and the cottage very comfortable. The only thing missing for the duration of my stay was an internet connection. I couldn’t get a signal on my phone either. Other mobile providers do connect I gather but just be aware connectivity may be patchy.

"A lovely cottage my husband and myself and 2 year old grandaughter loved it very ..."
A lovely cottage my husband and myself and 2 year old grandaughter loved it very quite and a peaceful my grandaughter loved the sheep and chickens in the feild at the top of the garden and the dog betty the farmer dave was very nice and would stop and talk to my grandaughter and jane his wife was lovely as well we even met his son ben and partner and there baby son ben even showed us the baby calfs would certainly recommend this place
-
"Lovely farmhouse cottage in a brilliant location."
Very rural so nice and quiet but only a 20 minute drive to Bristol city centre. We also made day trips to Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Weston Super Mare, Cleveden... so much to do in this area for children and families, feel like we barely scratched the surface. The cottage itself was clean and the hosts were very welcoming, lovely people. We would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a family holiday.
-
"We have just returned from our holiday at the Old Parlour."
This was one of the best holidays we had in the UK. We were touched by warm welcome from Jane and Dave. Our daughter enjoyed exploring the farm, watching the animals being fed and listening to Dave’s stories about farming. It was amazing to be able to follow Dave around the farm, watch the cows being fed and talk to such a kindhearted person. Thank you so much, Dave and Jane, for looking after us. We will truly miss you. The cottage is located on a family run farm, it is well equipped, clean and comfortable. Highly recommended for families with children or anyone wishing to escape from city life to the beautiful countryside.
-
"A truly lovely relaxing week in the Mendips."
The cottage was extremely well equipped and the hosts were very welcoming. The cottage proved a great base to explore the local area. We also recommend a visit to the local pub.
-
"Great stay at Regilbury Farm."
The owners were lovely and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The cottage was clean, very well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. We really enjoyed being on a working farm and perfect for our young children to be able to see the animals daily and watch the tractor in action. Family have owned the farm for over 200 years and real privilege to be their guests. Location was great for exploring the local area and Bristol/Bath although is very rural so expect narrow country lanes. Recommend arranging delivery from a supermarket as nothing in close proximity.
-
"The cottage was well equipped with everything you could want for a holiday."
Plenty of clean linen and towels were provided, also eggs and flowers on arrival. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, always ready for a chat. The garden area was pretty and well furnished. We stayed for 4 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed exploring a beautiful area, with plenty of walks and lovely scenery.
-
"Altogether a brilliant holiday at this cottage that is situated some 400 feet up in the Mendip Hills."
It served my wife and myself as a base for visiting the numerous places of interest in the area and we could not have picked a better place to stay. Our hosts were excellent and provided fresh flowers and half a dozen eggs when we arrived. A tour of the farm was provided although this was not asked for specifically. We have no hesitation in recommending this cottage and if ever we are in the area again will happily stay here again.
-
"This holiday was perfect from start to finish."
The owners were so lovely and welcoming. The cottage was so well equipped with everything we needed - great shower, comfy beds and lovely garden with gorgeous views. Enjoyed a few bbq in the garden. We loved being among the animals on their farm. Great location for exploring surrounding areas including Bristol, Bath, Weston-Super-Mare, Clevedon, Longleat, Tyntesfield NT...highlight of our stay was the wonderful farm tour and our boys (aged 9 and 10) getting a ride on Farmer Dave's tractor! So many gorgeous memories made in this place. We didn't want to leave and would love to return! Highly recommend!!
-
"Relaxing atmosphere, clean cottage, friendly farmers and my daughter enjoyed seeing the cows."
-
"The cottage was very comfortable and clean."
We were made to feel very welcome by the family who own it. The best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in had everything in it you needed. The cottage is in a beautiful part of the country with many places to visit. We had a lovely stay.
-
"Wonderfully peaceful and relaxing time away."
Jane & David couldn't have been more helpful & thoughtful - especially when Bristol Water accidentally lost the water supply to the village, which could have ruined my time away if they hadn't been on hand. The Old Parlour is a comfortable and well-done-out holiday cottage in beautiful surroundings.
-
"No; all as described thanks"
-
"Yes the persons who own the cottage Jane & David are the most wonderful persons any one could meet so kind and thoughtful and as for the cottage we have really enjoyed the clean and tidy rooms we have been on quite a few holidays but this one was our best and would let anyone know just how good the place is the only drawback we found was too far out to get to places."
-
"Lovely spot, very comfortable and extremely welcoming hosts."
-
"A very peaceful and comfortable cottage."
-
"Very comfortable apartment."
Rural setting but not far from main roads and Bristol and very convenient for airport. Very friendly and helpful hosts. We got stuck in the snow and they really helped out at the end of our stay. I would thoroughly recommend this holiday apartment.
-
"Welcomed at gate by fantastic smiling Jane ,beautiful cottage, immaculately clean."
very friendly hosts. we had fresh eggs on arrival from hosts and bought two more trays during the week. one we devoured and one we brought back. loved the farm setting, meeting the calf too. local pub The Crown really friendly and great food too. john had two days fishing at Plantation lakes (trout, bass roach) toilets and cafe there too. Trago Mills at Merthyr Tydfil was as always a great day spent, including lunch at the cafe. Wells cathedral another great day spent, especially as the day we went there was a Bentley car show on, wow.
-
"Far exceeded what we expected."
Family were really friendly & welcoming with loads of information on places to go & walks. We had a tour of the farm which was amazing. We wanted somewhere peaceful where we could chill out after a very stressful time & it did not disappoint. We would certainly go to this cottage again.
-
"The cottage was lovely and well equipped."
The big drawback for me, as I had planned it as a working holiday, was that the internet connection was so poor that it was almost unusable. I had to go elsewhere to work. The family are very friendly.
-
"Wonderful, cosy, warm and nice and peaceful."
Very warm welcome from friendly hosts. Excellent location for Chew lakes, Bristol, Wells Cathedral and Cheddar Gorge. I'll be back.
-
"We had a great time in this cosy cottage."
The owners have been very kind to us and showed us the farm. We definitely will recommend it to others.
-
"My wife an I thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the farm."
Nothing was too much trouble for Jane, very approachable and interested in us as visitors to an unfamiliar area which was nice. We would love to come and spend more time here and look forward to doing so.
