  • "The location was good in that you could walk into Bradford on Avon and also get easy access to the river and the canal."

It was a good base for visiting Bath and several National Trust properties in the area. The lounge was comfortable and the bedrooms were fine. The heating was very efficient. The kitchen and bathroom however could do with some updating. It was impossible to read the dials on the oven and we ruined one of our meals becaue of this. A copy of the cooker handbook would be helpful or at least a photopcpy of the page shopwing the cooker dials. A better shower would also be appreciated. It would be helpful if a few cleaning materials were available to use during the week. We tried to use the hoover before we left but the small of 'dog' was just awful. It had obviously been used by people with dogs in the house and hadn't been emptied. The house could really do with a good clean - the windows were dirty and it all just felt a bit tired. Not up to the 4 star standrd of other properties we have stayed in.

  • "On arrival at 16 Mythern Meadow, we found the process of collecting the key very easy."

Opening the door and seeing the light coloured carpet, we immediately took our shoes off before walking through. 2 sofas (one a sofa bed) were very comfortable, the TV was easy to use. In the kitchen was a dining table and 4 chairs and everything you need in a kitchen. Through the back door is a well kept and private garden. Going upstairs the bathroom consisted of wash hand basin, toilet and bath with shower. The smaller of the 2 bedrooms had a double bed pushed against the wall and chest of drawers, the larger bedroom has double bed with bedside drawers either side and an airing cupboard. The rooms did get hot at night (it is summer after all) but there were a couple of fans that came in useful. Issues: Mat inside front door keeps ruffling up and if not sorted straight away could become a trip hazard. There's only one small coffee table in sitting area for 2 sofas. The dials for the oven are so well used that I couldn't work out temperature or settings, I had to go online to figure it out. The soap holder in the shower kept falling off. When closing the front door from the outside there is only a small part where the key is inserted to hold. Could do with a proper handle. Overall: The house is in a lovely quiet cul-de-sac, not far from local amenities and great location for walking. I would definitely recommend 16 Mythern Meadow for a holiday stay. I do hope that the campaign against the development of the old golf course is successful, because that area is full of wildlife and great to explore.

The master bed was comfortable. The garden was perfect for our Jack Russel dog who enjoyed running around There are good walks from the house into town avoiding the traffic. A great breakfast at the canal cafe on the way to town and the Tythe Barn. Only niggle was there were no cleaning products for us to use or soap.

  • "Very disappointed."

The property is in need of an update. The carpets were filthy but we were given £50 refund when we complained. The kitchen and equipment are old and run down, the kitchen bowl must be 20 years old. Trains pass near the property all day and night and toot their horns. It is situated on a council estate and the houses surrounding it appear to have been airbrushed out and the impression given that it is surrounded by fields. About a 30 minute walk into town. On a positive note the beds were comfortable. I would never recommend this property and it is vastly overpriced.

  • "We had a lovely holiday at this property, it provided an excellent base for exploring Bradford-on-Avon and the immediate surrounding area - there was so much to do particularly many National Trust properties and gardens within a 10 mile radius."

You can easily walk into the town which has a fascinating history plus the train station with regular services into Bath and beyond. Parking at the station is very reasonable, eg. 80p for all day parking on a Sunday if you do not wish to walk. It was great to have a driveway for parking and the added, and unexpected bonus, of a side access with a hose and enclosed garage to wash and dry the dog and ourselves. This enabled us to keep our muddy shoes and paws from spoiling the carpet! Everything has been thought of in that respect. There is also an extra freezer in the garage which is switched on and ready to use. The garden is the best we have had for our dog, large and totally enclosed which she loved. The gardens are beautifully kept. The house itself was extremely comfortable and lots of equipment is provided, luckily I take tea towels, cleaning materials, kitchen roll, cooking oils, soap etc etc with me as they were not available here. The bedding and towels are lovely quality too. The area is quiet with a lovely view across the river valley from the bedroom. We had a thoroughly relaxing holiday, particularly with walks from the door to the river and canal - just a shame about the muddy conditions but it didn't spoil the time we had here.

The town of Bedford on Avon is steeped in history and the property is so close to so many wonderful places to visit. The garden is totally secure and the walks are just perfect for us with two Westies. We walked into town on several days and made our first port of call the Doghouse. A great dog-friendly cafe and pet shop. We had a typical spring weather treat! Snow on our first morning, but warm and sunny everyday after that! Bath is just half an hour in the car or a short train journey. The perfect holiday.

The cottage itself was well equipped, the bed was comfortable, the garden was great for our dog, and the property was lovely and warm too. It was also one of the cleanest Sykes properties we’ve visited for some time. We didn’t have the best weather (Storm Henk) but we enjoyed our New Year break all the same

The town centre is a 15 minute walk via a public footpath accessed alongside the "play area" near the cottage as well as a bus service to Bath running past the entrance to the estate. One minor point to note is that although there is Freesat TV and Wi-Fi, there is no on-demand or catchup TV service. If I'd realised this beforehand, I would have brought my own Chromecast or Fire TV stick with me. Thanks for a lovely stay.

  • "We enjoyed our weeks stay at this cosy cottage."

Our main priority when booking a cottage is to have a fully enclosed garden and this was the case with this property - garden fully fenced. The property is well looked after though as the previous reviewer mentioned - I would strongly recommend the owner installs a dishwasher. The property is very well located to explore Bath and the wider areas.

  • "We enjoyed our stay in Bradford on Avon."

On the whole the property was comfortable and warm. The bed linen was lovely , crisp and white. The towels were also spot on. The shower was quite weak and I think a dishwasher would be better than having a washing machine for any party staying for a week. A washing machine could be relocated into the garage. We normally stay in Air B&B properties 4 or so times a year, and, other than during Covid restrictions we have had welcome packs which have comprised items such as tea, coffee, milk, wine, dog treats, beer, pork pie, chocolates, fruit and flowers. It just makes you feel so welcome on arrival. There are a few things to think about 1. There was no grill pan. 2. No cleaning materials. I know that you don’t have to provide these but it would be helpful to have washing up liquid, scourer, duster and polish. 3. The baking tray needs replacing. 4. The washing up brush needs to be thrown away as it is old and tatty. 5. The underside of the shower mat was very hairy!! As was the plug hole in the bath. 6. There were no plastic bags inside any of the small bins.

  • "A lovely property with everything we could possibly want for a short stay."

The living room was a little bit cool probably because heat escaped out through the front door and up the stairs, but we did stay in the middle of the very cold weather. A curtain on the back of the door might help. A short drive to Bath although Bradford on Avon can be very congested due to its narrow streets. On the last day we found an alternative route which avoided the town centre. Beds were very comfortable. All in all a great stay.

We found the heating difficult to control . It would save money if there were instructions for it. We could not find any. Also another side light on the other side of the living room would be good so that it wasn’t necessary to have the centre light on. Apart from these minor issues, the house was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Also a good location for the town and for visiting the area. We found the train useful to visit Bath and coming back from a muddy walk to Avoncliff.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay and the house was warm and comfortable."

Starry really loved the overgrown ex golf course, opposite, which was a great place to walk and enjoy some of the local nature. A short walk into town, via the path found nearby. Only criticism was that the heating control, took time to work out and not sure if I ever fully did. Yes you can press or turn the thermostat, but it was not very informative. Washing machine was handy, but had issues with door opening, as handle needs to cool down. Worked out the tv, after hit and miss, on arrival. Read general info but maybe more instructions would help, as not everyone is technically minded. Thanks to the Internet , you can look up the manuals. Otherwise, had a great time. Garden, just right. Neighbours, friendly. Beds comfortable. Bathroom, very warm. Visited the Can Hill locks, Laciovk Abbey and walked the town and canal. Would definitely stay again. Thank you. Would definitely stay again.

Think that curtains in addition to blinds would be a good idea in the bedrooms. The bedrooms must be very light at night during mid summer. It is a about a 1 mile walk into the town centre but I did discover a shorter route that also avoided walking along the main road.

The mattresses were hard and duvet and pillows felt of poor quality making bedtime an uncomfortable experience. Kitchen contents ok but again felt as if kitted out as cheaply as possible. A little more investment into the quality of contents would have made this a much better experience especially for the money paid. A small welcome pack would have been a nice gesture. Too basic which was a shame as house and location were great.

15 mins walk to centre and 10 mins to Bradford and Avon Canal. When we visited in July 2021, house was newly decorated and carpeted. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. Enclosed garden with chairs and table in the garage. When we arrived the TV would not work, but this was resolved within a couple of hours by the local management company - very efficient.
