"We were delighted with our stay at Bilsham meadows, however there are a couple of things that I would like to raise: * the telephone number given to contact the owner about bed configuration was to the cleaning agency responsible for the property."
I tried texting and ringing numerous times, eventually getting through only a couple of days before our break. The chap seemed a little puzzled as to why I was speaking to him but the beds were sorted. He did mention that it might explain why he got random messages about the WiFi not working and that he never actioned these * when we got to the property as expected the WiFi wasn’t working and the router password provided in the instruction book bore no resemblance to the kit. Because of my previous conversation and because we were only staying two nights I didn’t pursue this further.
We strive at all times to improve the experience our guests receive at our property and can only apologize that you have had a couple of difficulties. The Company that we use to maintain the property provide a faultless service and can be contacted 24/7 and we regret that you have not found this to be the case. We stress that the layout of the beds must be provided, preferably on booking but most certainly with as much notice as possible, at least two weeks, otherwise the property may well have been prepared for the next stay. Regarding the Wi-Fi a new hub had been installed prior to your visit and the password checked as correct. It would appear that the local area was receiving poor reception. We are sorry that you were unable to use the service. Property Owner

"Lovely spacious house and garden."

"This place is so beautiful."
There were 9 of us staying plus 2 kids and it was perfect. The open space was great for everyone and kitchen island was such a perfect touch for the social aspect of the stay. The kitchen was the most stocked kitchen we’d stayed in, it had everything you needed. The beds were all really comfy and the pillows were nice and big too. The only problem we had was that the WiFi wasn’t working. We did try and get in contact with the owners to get it sorted but we had no reply. It didn’t ruin the stay but it would have been handy to have it.

"We had a lovely stay here and the property had everything you needed."
Would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

"Beautiful property and in peaceful and relaxing setting."
The cottage was well equipped and had plenty of space for our family group of 8. Lovely garden to enjoy on a summer evening. The only thing that I would recommend is that they invest in some curtains for the bedrooms. We were all away very early due to the sunshine through the thin blinds.

"We stayed here as a family of 4 generations and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit."
The conversion has been done using good quality materials and with great care. The beds were comfortable and in general the place was very well equipped. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub. Our garden overlooked a field in which there were cattle and ,as Londoners, this was an added bonus. A fantastic place to stay, highly recommended.

"We had a fantastic couple of days at the property celebrating our daughter’s 30th birthday with all the family - 8 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 babies."
The layout was perfect for our large group with plenty of safe outdoor space and a great outdoor seating area plus the hot tub. The beds were comfortable with quality pillows and duvets. We were very impressed by how well equipped the kitchen was, with lots of crockery and cutlery for any occasion. I would definitely recommend this to friends

"The property is absolutely stunning and in such a wonderful location."
We enjoyed our stay so much that we have to booked to come again next year. Thanks for making our weekend so special.
-
"Really beautiful accommodation - perfect for our getaway."
It was well facilitated with everything you could possibly need for cooking for a large group. The hot tub was brilliant, the information provided was helpful and the owner was communicative up until we first arrived. We noted that a couple of the bedrooms were not cleaned thoroughly- marks on the carpet and evidence of not being hoovered properly around the bed. Otherwise it was clean. Only other issue we had was requested the beds to be split a week in advance and this was not done. We notified the owners and they assured us that the request was made. There was no spare bedding for us to separate ourselves so the two members of our group with sleep issues did struggle. Overall a very pleasant stay. We would all highly recommend. Thank you for a great weekend.

"We really enjoyed this house and would recommend it to anyone."
There were nine of us for the first weekend and then my wife and I stayed on for the next four days. It was warm and comfortable. Just two things, small, there were no serving table spoons in the kitchen. And, like many other self catering homes and hotels bedrooms need chairs to pu clothes on when taking them off at night.

"No complaints absolutely beautiful property"

"We had a fantastic stay thankyou."
The property is finished to a high standard and was warm and comfy. Showers were hot and easy to use. We had a good soak in the hot tub with it's pretty fairy lights. Just a few basics would have made our stay even better- some flat baking trays, salt, and washing up liquid- not everything fitted in the dishwasher. We loved seeing the cattle in the shed - they were so quiet! We also spotted a fox and a white egret. We would definitely recommend Bilsham Meadows as a good place to stay for a large group.

"Excellent stay in a lovely property ideal for groups."
Large space and comfy rooms.

"We originally made this booking for the summer, but due to my partner being diagnosed with cancer and another member of the partner donating her kidney to husband we wanted to cancel."
The owner completely refused to give us a refund. This forced us to not only rearrange but also pay extra for the new date. There was absolutely no basic humanity or compassion for our situation, I even offered to provide evidence. Once we arrived at the cottage it was freezing. The owners were unreachable that evening, so it was not a great first night and we barely slept. The owners did arrive the next day, but all they offered were blow heaters which made minimal difference. The owners also mentioned a sensor was gone and someone was coming to fix it, this clearly indicated they were aware of the issue. Despite this gave no prior warning or provide the heaters in the first place. The cottage itself is beautiful and was very clean. I feel this cottage is completely let down by its owners, we were forced to rebook and then our already tainted stay was further ruined by the cold. For the cost to stay here, and the refusal to allow a refund we expected a lot better.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback and for your kind comments on the property itself we do pride ourselves on the quality and cleanliness of our property and this is reflected in our feedback score from previous guests. As soon as we were made aware of the issues with the heating in just one of the rooms, we did provide extra heaters which warmed the room up nicely. Unfortunately, the cancellation policy is a Sykes policy and out of our control. We did accommodate a change of dates but as the new dates were at a more expensive time of year there was a small uplift in the rental. Your comments regarding Sykes lack of humanity and service have been passed onto Sykes Cottages for them to review, we are sorry in this instance we were unable assist you further. Property Owner

"This property is exceptional."
The building and its surroundings are lovely and it was the perfect space for our family of 9 people to spend Christmas. The kitchen was so well stocked - we cooked our Christmas lunch here and had everything we needed, and more. The rooms were warm and the beds were very comfortable. Thank you for making this such a memorable Christmas for us. We couldn’t have asked for more.

"Fantastic property and absolutely no criticisms."
Very comfortable and warm and we loved the hot tub.
-
"Only one issue."
For 10 people the fridge is too small. There was not enough room for us 10 girls to put our food and drink in for 3 days. But an amazing place.

"Amazing long weekend!"
Great location/stunning property/Quiet/Easily accessible to other parts of Bristol. Would recommend to anybody! Happy to return in the future.

"An absolutely amazing property…definitely has the wow factor."
Bedrooms are all to a high standard with fresh towels provided and comfy beds. Bathrooms were amazing and top notch quality…loved the lights on the sinks as you walked in
-
"Beautiful house with everything we needed for our weekend!"
Loved the open plan living and the hot tub. Watching the sun rise from the hot tub was a particular highlight. The master suite definitely had the wow factor, and we would definitely come back again!
-
"Lovely place."
Quality furnishings and equipment. Bit too open plan for us. Charles

"Beautiful property, built and furnished to a very high standard."
Excellently equipped with large groups in mind. Perfect for our group of 5 couples, not often you get 5 double beds in a property.
-
"Beautiful accommodation and easy to find."
Thank you very much.

"Beautiful property, lovely and warm."
Bedding quality excellent , and also the towels that were sumptuous. Easy to find and gain access. Gardens planted and looking lovely already. Bed configuration instructions were followed up and perfect thank you . Hot tub was lovely for those who used it and plenty of blanket and outdoor towels. However , it was disappointing that there were obviously insufficient hand towels for the party which I did report the day we arrived but no more were forthcoming. Some of the kitchen equipment was not cleaned properly (lips marks on glasses, custard on jugs, mugs discolored.) This could be because of the frugal supply of dishwasher tablets provided, a couple more would have been appreciated. I cannot understand why cake forks are provided but no tea towels ?? Essential if you cannot always use the dishwasher. From a health and safety aspect , no oven gloves is an oversight and accident waiting to happen with no tea towels either to substitute. Another suggestion, with two people occupying the rooms, there really is not sufficient hanging space and most rooms could easily accommodate a decent wardrobe. There was also lots of detritus under the settees and under some of the beds. The Ironing board was broken ( with a note left on it from previous occupants) when we arrived and not sure why that had been left ? Overall ,we would have no hesitation to book again as hopefully, these are only teething problems in a new property and maybe a little tightening up on the cleaning service

"An amazing house, the owners haven't skimped on anything."
Very clean and well equipped. The one thing I would recommend would maybe be some blackout curtains in the bedrooms but not the end of the world. We met the owners and they were lovely and the doggies. The only complaint I have is that I didn't get to stay long enough, I was only there 2 nights but hopefully will get to go again. I would highly recommend this property

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bilsham Meadows."
We immediately could tell that there was a lot of thought and detail that went into building this lovely farmhouse/cottage. The kitchen/living area is so spacious. It allowed everyone to interact with each other in an open air space. Not to mention the patio, garden area and hot tub - a phenomenal addition to the cottage and one of the highlights. All the rooms were of a good size and the bathrooms were stunning! It would have been nice to have a little more storage space for clothing especially in the master bedroom upstairs. The cottage is definitely well insulated and warm and would be extremely ideal during the winter. Within our party of 10, there were some who loved the warmth and others who did feel a little warm and regularly went outside for fresh air. We noticed that in each space there were heating controls but we were unsure if these were fixed or could be adjusted. If they were adjustable then we didn’t know how to regulate it and would have been nice to adjust the heating to a middle ground to suit everyone’s comfortability. In regards to the wifi, it wasn’t too strong which caused some difficulties when trying to watch the TV as at several points the TV would buffer or would ask us to check the wifi connection. We appreciate this might have been down to a lot of people trying to connect at once. The owners were lovely and friendly. We liked how they gave us our privacy and checked in with us at the end to ensure everything is OK. There are a lot of information/help guides within the property so an answer usually would be found in these guides. Overall, Bilsham Meadows provided us with an amazing opportunity to unwind and reset from our busy lives. There is a sense of peace and tranquility about this cottage that has to be celebrated and appreciated and we would most definitely recommend to others.

"Our stay at Bilsham Meadowes exceeded our expectations."
Bedrooms were all good sizes and the bedroom area upstairs was stunning. The beautiful kitchen and living area provided an ideal social space. We were able to use the outside facilities and these proved to be perfect for both children and adults. The hot tub was an added luxury that was well used during our stay. All facilities were extremely well maintained and clean and the owners were attentive to any needs. We would not hesitate to recommend this gorgeous house which provided us with an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside.
-
"This is an astonishing place which amazed everyone of us on the quality and facilities available."
We went with our children, grandchildren and sister-in-law and they all loved the whole experience of staying there. The hot tub was obviously a major hit with all as was the games table with the grandchildren. The bedrooms were beautifully laid out, although a little extra clothes storage in some of the rooms would of been beneficial, something I'm told is already planned to do. This is a great place to explore from with so much within a short distance, even Wookey hole caves is only a hours drive away. A visit, or two, to the Boar's head at Aust is an absolute must with great food, drink and most importantly extremely friendly staff.

"We have had a wonderful week in a very luxurous family house with the nine of us."
Everything was there and especially the jacuzzi was a wonderful, Italian daily experiece in rainy Britain. Only when it gets really hot outside climate control would do. Not neccassary for us, we had a fantastic holiday!
-
"We had a fantastic stay."
The property was very clean and well equipped. However, the hot tub was not warm enough so missed out on use fir one day but was quickly fixed for use the next day by the lady on site. Lady on site was extremely helpful. The pillows were too hard and this the only complaint. The property is very airy, spacious and bright. Would definitely return.

"Hi, its beautiful living accommodation and internally very clean."
I was disappointed that my request for all possible beds to be made up as singles was ignored- the photograph attached to the accommodation illustrates the possibilities. I also left a message on our arrival regarding this before 4.30pm and that was also ignored. We don't think there are enough bathroom facilities. Three double rooms are required to use the same bathroom which is unacceptable for the price we paid for the accommodation . The cleanliness of the hot tub was in doubt, a filthy filter was evident and it not checked daily as required. By day three, none of the party felt able to use it which was disappointing

"The property is absolutely beautiful, so peaceful and we loved having the cows walk round the back of the garden."
It was extremely clean and tidy and all the games that are included were a great addition. Would definitely go back!
-
"Great stay with friends ."
Beautiful house maintained well very clean . Would recommend some curtains in the down stairs room as very light in the mornings .

"It would be good to have a wardrobe in the top floor bedroom."

"Bilsham Meadows had something truly special about it."
The space is modern and fantastic. You can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into the design and execution of it. The farm house and livestock we're very close to the accommodation, but once you're inside you'll hardly remember they're there. If anything, it adds to the experience! We found it to be great value for money too, especially split 10 ways! We all wouldn't hesitate to book the venue again in the future.

"We had a lovely stay at Bilsham Meadows."
The house was fantastic and had absolutely everything we needed. The space was superb. The weather was not great during our stay however we were quite happy relaxing in a comfortable house. Beds were very comfy and the living space very accommodating. The hot tub was lovely despite not being able to enjoy the outdoor area due to the bad weather. We will definitely recommend to family and friends.
