  • "The owners were a very considerate, helpful couple nothing was too much trouble."

The cottage was in delightful surroundings and we could enjoy from the farming life from the garden or cottage. Squire the dog was lovely as for the cat he just was not to be seen. The whole experience was very good for us and we felt much better for it. The visit to Grove Cottage says to go again but not just yet due to the weather changing we will wait until next year. Thank you Martyn and Susan for your hospitality and warm welcome also Squire for sayng hello to Gypsy and Bongo for disappearing . Early we might be but best wishes for Christmas and the New Year when we hope to re-visit.

Thank you for your kind comments Fred, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay. Looking forward to seeing you all again Property Owner

The accommodation was first rate, including the welcome pack on arrival, which contained bread, butter, milk, conserve and cake. The hosts were lovely- there if you needed anything. All in all a relaxing week.

  • "A perfect ‘home away from home’!"

I booked Grove Cottage for a weekend with my little pup, to have a couple of chilled out days in the countryside and it was just what I was after! Martyn and Sue were both warm and welcoming and the cottage itself very cosy and beautifully furnished. The area so peaceful and quiet with fields all around. We ventured into nearby Tewkesbury which is well worth a visit. For a restful couple of days, walking / cooking / chilling out - I couldn’t have asked for more.

    Many thanks Liz! Property Owner

  • "Grove cottage is beautifully situated in among lovely panoramic views."

The cottage itself is next to the lovely owners Susan and Martyns own property, but they never intruded and where always happy to help if we needed anything. The cottage itself is of a lovely size and cozy with ample space for me my husband and our dog Molly, it is well equipped and has everything you need if you want to cook up a storm. The outside space is fully enclosed as long as the two main gates are closed making it very secure for dogs to run around safely which Molly did and very much enjoyed, they have their own dog and cat. There are lots of places to walk and it's very easy to get to main towns and places of interest by car. We enjoyed our weeks stay at Grove cottage very much and would highly recommend it for a relaxing peaceful getaway, especially if you have a dog.

Many thanks for your feedback Chris. It was our pleasure having the 3 of you as our "neighbours" for the week! Property Owner

  • "Very comfortable, spacious and clean property."

Lots of footpaths near the house, including some that were still walkable despite the recent rain. Welcome pack was excellent. Laminated map was useful. Perhaps a bit more information about walks around the area could be provided as there are some lovely hill walks are within 10 miles. Owners very friendly, accessible helpful and hospitable and Bongo (Cat) & Squire (Dog) were an added delight. I found my stay very restful and enjoyable.

Many thanks for your feedback, it was a pleasure to meet you. Property Owner

  • "Grove Cottage adjoins the main residential home of the family and is a very lovely and delightful cottage situated just outside of Deerhurst ."

As all the rooms face the one way you continuously have sight of the beautiful and picturesque views of the Gloucestershire countryside. The cottage itself was laid out well and very clean . On arrival we were greeted with a very nice welcome pack of : Eggs , Lemon Drizzle cake , Bread and Marmalade .. all of which were eaten. The cottage had everything you needed complete with a gorgeous and extremely comfortable and luxurious super king bed. We came to enjoy some cycling …. and we were not disappointed. There are many cycle routes within the area with many of the lanes lined with our quintessential English cottages all displaying their cottage gardens . The Severn way is a short hop away and runs along the river up and beyond Upton on Severn . The Gloucester to Sharpness canal towpath is brilliant , as is the canal and places along the route. There are loads of routes on Komoot so there’s plenty to choose from. We were very taken with the area and will be visiting again next year. The Local pub ... The Farmers Arms .. which is just outside of Apperley is excellent and again brilliant view of the countryside from the beer garden. I also highly recommend the The Red Lion in Norton , located on the bend of the Severn provides for a stunning view of this river and again provides the evidence as to why our English Countryside is so lovely. I would certainly recommend this area and Grove Cottage if you are looking to visit and also I can’t not mention their adorable sweetheart ...... Bongo the cat.
