  • "On the whole very impressed, however a few small things prevented me from giving a higher rating."

We had a few issues with the cooker not cooking correctly (burning the outside of our food & being quite soggy in the middle), the heating system didn't seem to work correctly we managed to get heat on the first few nights but as the week wore on we could not the heating to engage at all which meant the cottage was very cold at night. There was also a bit of damp on the ceiling in the utility room which after some heavy rain on a couple of days left a pool of water. Aside from these minor problems we enjoyed our stay at Windy Ridge & would visit again.

Thank you for your review, we are so pleased to hear that you were impressed with the property and would return. Based on your feedback we will certainly look in to the issues you raised. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Cotswolds. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Property was dirty, flies on window sills, dirty floors, cobwebs and lots of spiders!"

Carpets filthy, cooker ancient and not fit for purpose. Advertised as dog friendly but had to keep dog in when the owners of property were out with their dogs as unfriendly dogs and dangerous! Not able to relax due to this and ruined our holiday! Over priced for the experience we had, not good enough

Thank you for your review, we are disappointed to hear that the cleanliness of the property was not up to our usual standard, this will of course be investigated. Windy Ridge is now being blocked off for refurbishment. We hope that we can welcome back to the Cotswolds in the future. Kind regards Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "A lovely setting and very convenient area for the Cotswolds."

The cottage had character, was comfortable and quiet. Good parking and friendly neighbours and cat. The kitchen needs updating with the oven and microwave in particular not good and not very clean. General cleanliness in the bedrooms was not the best, with items having been left from previous occupants. DVD player needs updating to connect to the TV, however TV very good. Also very good shower and bathrooms.

  • "The cottage was clean and very comfortable."

The kitchen was well stocked with crockery, cutlery and utensils - probably the best of any self catering let I've stayed in. Great location too. Some wonderful walks (a good App will highlight less obvious routes using public footpaths)and a friendly local pub. Spoilt for choice for attractions within short driving distance. If you're taking a dog, be aware that it's not allowed upstairs or on furniture.....you'll need to consider where it will sleep if you can't trust it to stay off the sofas. The kitchen, dining room or boot room should be fine for a dog that's well behaved and won't cry or chew. Disappointed that the property appears to be removed from listings from the Autumn. Wanted to rebook!

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your comments and are pleased that you enjoyed Windy Ridge and it's location. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "We loved our stay in your cottage."

Really appreciated the small touches such as the biscuits and milk. Definitely somewhere I would like to return to. Warm cosy and comfortable. Only feedback I would offer for improvement would be that a couple of extra toilet rolls would have been nice, but hardly a big issue. Did struggle a little with the electric hob as not something we are used to but all in all a fabulous place to stay and somewhere we would recommended and hope to return to one day. Wish we had been able to stay longer.

Thank you for this lovely review and we're so glad you enjoyed your stay at Windy Ridge Cottage. We would love to welcome you again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "This lovely little cottage is tired and needs attention."

The cooker has a mind of its own, grill wouldn’t work, the hob rings difficult to control. The pans were without lids and some without handles. Corkscrew broken, could do with more sockets( can’t make toast at the same time as boiling the kettle.) The lamp stand plug is dangerous. Heating on full, unbearably hot upstairs and without individual radiator control. Outside light on path not working making it dangerous on the steps. (No pub 300yds away as stated in advert,)
