  • "We have just returned from a week stay at The Old Bothy."

We celebrated our 53rd Wedding Anniversary whilst there and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. It really is a home from home. It's beautifully presented, with every possible comfort provided. Warwick Castle, Stratford on Avon, Banbury and several National Trust houses are within easy reach. The Lion at nearby Tredington serves great food. And for lovers of Indian food, The Bridge Inn is just a few hundred yards along the road. All in all, it has been a truly wonderful break.

Thank you for your kind feedback, we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay, and we wish you many congratulations on your wedding anniversary. Robin and Diana Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay at the Old Bothy."

Bijou but cosy. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and much appreciated. The kitchen has everything and more that you need. It would be nice if one kitchen cupboard could be made available for food storage. We hope to return soon.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay, and thank you for your feedback. We will look at how kitchen equipment is stored to possibly free up some space. We hope you are able to return. Robin Property Owner

  • "A very well equipped holiday home."

Peaceful and great location for exploring. We enjoyed relaxing in the little courtyard garden which was a real sun trap in the late afternoons after a day exploring. The basic groceries provided were much appreciated.

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your kind feedback. Property Owner

  • "Old Bothy is a really delightful cosy cottage in a beautiful little hamlet and was a wonderful base for us to explore the Cotswolds for a week."

Very clean and comfy and even a gift basket of locally produced bread and eggs with local milk and butter left for us in the fridge. Definitely didn’t want to leave and we will surely be back again in the future. Really enjoyed our stay.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

Really enjoyed our stay at the old bothy Heating was on when we arrived as well as a pint of milk in the fridge and butter and bread Which was welcome as we arrived late on The one slight drawback is the parking if you have a low slung car like mine you will catch your spoilers

  • "Unfortunately our Holiday got off to a bad start."

On arrival it became apparent that the Gas Boiler that provided all of the heating and hot water was not working which in mid February is not ideal. We contacted the Managing Agent as listed in the information pack and we spoke with a Gentleman called Sean. He was in Gloucester at the time of calling but said he would be with us in about an hour and true to his word he was. On closer inspection he said a specialist Engineer would be required so Sean called an Engineer and arranged for him to be with us the following morning at 8.30 and again true to his word the Engineer was on time and within half an hour we finally had heat and hot water. Sean also returned home on the first evening and came round with an electric Radiator for us to use so we would just like to say a big Thank You to Sean for exemplary Customer Service. Once everything was sorted we really enjoyed our stay at the Old Bothy. The Property is very well equipped and is in an idyllic location . We would definitely return in the future

  • "While the property was clean and comfortable there are a couple of things that could be improved."

The back door key is very difficult to use and the parking needs some improvement. You cannot get on to the slabs without going on the grass and making a mess. Also I would expect at this time of year for the heating to be on on arrival. It took quite a while to get the place warmed up.

  • "The Old Bothy is a cosy and quaint cottage, ideal for a few days getaway."

The property is quietly situated amongst other traditional Cotswold homes but easy of access from The Fosse Way. The kitchen is very well equipped with the basics (tea, coffee, bread milk etc) being kindly supplied at the beginning of my stay. The local "Halford Bridge Inn" is very welcoming with a limited selection of "real" ales but a good looking menu -- although I did not eat there. There is good walking in the area, also with a number of attractions within approximately 30 minutes drive, Charlecote Park (NT) and Hook Norton Brewery for example. My stay was over the Christmas period and it was a very nice touch that a Christmas tree and other festive decorations had been installed. I had a most enjoyable short break.

  • "This was a truly lovely property with everything you could need provided."

My only feedback would be that it wasn’t made clear in the listing exactly what was included. For example the listing said that we needed to take tea towels but these were already provided. Also, milk, butter, eggs, tea and bread were waiting for us when we arrived, although this was a welcome touch, it would have been nice to have been made aware of this beforehand instead of us bringing theses things with us. Other than that, it was a lovely property which we’ve already recommended to several friends.
