"Lovely warm cosy cottage."
We're glad you had an enjoyable stay. Kind Regards, Manor Cottages Property Owner

"We found ants in the hallway on our 2nd day, we put down the ant bait trap we found in a cupboard."
We removed shoes at the door as requested but having to walk across the mat to access stairs we did transfer some dirt, found the vacuum cleaner and tried to clean up as best we could but found the pipe kept coming out. Neither were major problems just something to note for future

"We had a lovely weekend stay at the Bybrook."
Welcomed by a lovely few arrival treats and milk which was great. Great location. Very clean and comfortable. The fact there was a play room with lots of toys/games for children was also a great touch as we had 2 children staying with us and they loved this.
Thank you for this lovely review. We're delighted you enjoyed your stay at The Bybrook and loved the location too. We hope to welcome you again soon. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

"The house itself is stunning and great location but we had a real issue with an ant infestation in the main ensuite bedroom which negatively impacted our experience."
They were all over the walls, the floors, in our bags and we had to take a lot of time cleaning our things in order to leave which made us late. The kitchen was beautiful but would say it's not very user friendly / intuitive in how it's organised.
-
"The owners have provided a high standard of accommodation throughout."
The house was very clean, well equipped (had everything we needed) and compfy. Heating came on automatically to keep us warm and if you come in the summer the garden was well kept. You will not be disappointed with this property if you book it.
Thank you so much for this lovely review. We're delighted you enjoyed your stay at The Bybrook and found it to be so clean and comfortable. We would love to welcome you again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

"Lovely house in a beautiful place"

"This is a lovely property in a perfect location for walking into the centre of Bourton."
There is a supermarket also within walking distance and its really close to lots of local attractions and nice places to eat. The house itself is great, plenty of room for a big group. Kitchen had enough equipment to cook meals but definitely bring your own condiments. It would have been helpful to have plastic kids plates/bowls/cups as there were none and with two toddlers this did mean a couple of breakages. The house was clean, beds comfy, Fans provided which was great as it is a warm house. Would recommend bringing own basics like dishwasher tabs, surface spray, washing up sponge, kitchen roll etc. All in all a good stay.
Thank you for your lovely comments. We are pleased that you liked the property and its location. We have passed your suggestions onto our housekeeping team. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

"Great location, very comfortable well maintained house."
We were able to walk into town easily. It would be great if the host had provided a washing up sponge and tea towel. We ended up having to improvise with anti bac wipes and hand towels.
Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and the location. Best wishes, Character Cottages Property Owner

"It is situated in a good position for travelling around the Cotswolds and a ten minute walk to Bourton on the Water ."
Two of the bedrooms have wardrobes but some of the doors are blocked off so limited storage the other two bedrooms have metal hooks and only 12 hangers were provided for a property that could cater for eight or nine people. There were only four of us and the wardrobe /storage was inadequate. The bed in the main bedroom had a dip in it needing replacement or at least a topper as it caused backache. We read in the visitors book that a previous guest had problems with ants unfortunately so did we ,the kitchen and upstairs bedroom and bathroom were affected. The pots, pans and cooking trays were in a bad state the latter were disgusting and all needing replacement ,there were no casserole dishes . The living room furniture needs refurbishment. The shower mat in the bathroom was a revolting piece of rubber that should have been thrown away and the ceiling vent needed cleaning. The house is built near to a main road and with the windows open there is traffic noise. There are two TVs in the house one just for dvds and the other having only about 12 channels no free view and the only app we could use was bbc I player. I contacted Sykes on the day before we left to forewarn them about the ants and other problems so they could do something about issues we encountered. A housekeeper met us on our departure and agreed that our concerns were valid. We were disappointed with the Bybrook as it did not live up to expectations and we did not think it was value for money. We have stayed in many cottages over the years and realise that not everything runs smoothly but this property had more cons than pros .
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of the issues you experienced. We have passed these details onto the owner and housekeeper for them to look into. We hope you were able to enjoy your stay in the Cotswolds. Best wishes Character Cottages Property Owner

"Had a good stay and we were generally happy with everything."
The only things I would point out were that the house could do with more pots / pans utensils etc when cateri for eight. We tried to hoover on the morning of departure but the hoover was inadequate due to lack of suction. The property could also use an extra black recycling box. These are minor details and we generally had a good stay thanks. Ken

"Beautiful cottage."
Very well equipped. Comfortable beds. Couple of minor bits on cleaning eg towel rails not dusted and the light in the kitchen covered in cobwebs. But very minor points as generally very clean Thank you
Thank you for providing this feedback and we're glad you found the cottage to be well equipped and comfortable. Thank you for bringing to our attention some minor issues of cleanliness which will be passed on to the Property Manager in order to be addressed. We hope to welcome you again. "We had a lovely stay at the bybrook."
It is a well maintained property. The only suggestion I have is that it would be useful if you could provide table fans in the rooms for hot summer days.I would also suggest to check the kitchen stock. We had only 1 dishwasher tablet n tea coffee cannisters were not well stocked.
Thank you kindly for your feedback, we are pleased to hear you had a lovely stay and are sorry to learn that the kitchen stock was running low but will ensure that our housekeeping teams are made aware. With best wishes Character Cottages Property Owner

Lots of playing games and the kitchen was brilliant for the Sunday Roast. Location was very good - a 10 minutes walk to the town centre and even less to Cotswolds Brewery!!

"We have enjoyed our week in the Cottage very much !"
The house is very comfortable and cosy, a perfect place to stay during a rainy, windy winter week ! We were 2 families of 4 on holidays together and we had lots of space and privacy for each family. The house is well-equipped and very easy to live in. It really felt like home. Also, what a kind gesture to welcome us with a delicious chocolate cake ! We enjoyed being within walking distance to the picturesque village of Bourton-on-the-water. The house is also ideally situated to discover the beautiful villages in the Cotswolds, about an hour drive from Oxford and a little less from Stratford-upon-Avon. There’s so much to do in the area ! We enjoyed it all very much ! We will definitely consider staying again in the Cottage if we come back to the Cotswolds ! Thank you !

A comfortable house for seven of us, but could have fitted even more. The house was clean and well appointed, we put our bags in our rooms and felt straight at home. Clean, modern with all facilities that are needed for a holiday. Easy walk into the village which takes you past the local co-op supermarket so you can pick up your essentials on way back. About the location
BOURTON-ON-THE-WATER
Stow-on-the-Wold 4 miles; Moreton-in-Marsh 8 miles; Chipping Norton 13 miles; Cheltenham 15.5 miles.
Located in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the historic village of Bourton-on-the-Water dates back to Neolithic times with over 100 buildings being Grade II listed or higher. The picturesque high street nestles alongside the River Windrush over which several low stone bridges span, which is why Bourton-on-the-Water is known as the Venice in the Cotswolds. Tradition states that an annual football match is played in the summer, in the River Windrush with the banks lined with spectators, with the aim to score as many goals as possible and get as wet as possible! The village has an eclectic range of visitor attractions, including The Model Village, Cotswold Motor Museum, Birdland Park and Gardens as well as a Dragonfly Maze, monthly farmers’ market as well as many tea rooms, an artisan bakery, antiques and craft markets, traditional sweet shop, cycle hire and its very own perfumery. Nearby, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises traditional England. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly farmers' market. The vast market square boasts an ancient cross at one end and the village stocks at the other, surrounded by an elegant array of Cotswold stone townhouses, antiques shops, tea rooms, traditional pubs, award-winning restaurants and its very own cricket museum. Also take a visit to the medieval town of Burford for a great day out where you can enjoy a trip to the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens. The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh and the quintessential English village of Broadway are both within easy reach and make a great day out. The spa town of Cheltenham is, architecturally, the most complete Regency town in England with an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, it is famous for its horse racing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. Oxford, the oldest university city in England and sometimes called The City of Dreaming Spires has an abundance of prestigious attractions, including the 38 colleges of the university (half of which date back before 1600), the oldest university teaching room, the Bodleian Library, Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Museums, and Botanic Gardens. Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also all within easy reach.
