Set in the centre of Winchcombe and a quiet area. Bed, furniture and provisions for our dog were exemplary. A minor quibble- Probably could benefit from a fan as it was very hot and the little R2D2 netta contraption didn't provide much cooling.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. Your suggestion of providing a new fan is very helpful. A new silent floor standing fan has now been purchased to improve the comfort of future guests. Property Owner

Its very well positioned in the center of Winchcombe. The cottage is very clean , comfortable and of the highest standard . Everything has been thought of and any slight problem dealt with straight away . Helen was most friendly and helpful at all times. There is no parking on site but we did not find that a problem at all as the car park is only about 10mins walk and only £1 for 24 hours from 5.30pm to 5.30pm the following day. There was a dog bed , bowls and treats , most welcomed by our little dog. Would definitely recommend and stay again when in the Cotswolds.

  • "Beautifully presented and tucked away off the main high street, everything you could need for a self catering holiday, the wine, biscuits and milk was a lovely treat, and the dog biscuits and cosy bed was definitely appreciated by our 4 legged companion."

The cottage is an excellent base to explore all that’s on offer in Winchcombe and the surrounding areas from all the well sign posted walking and the heritage steam railway to Sudley castle. The lack of parking wasn’t an issue the long stay car park at a £1.00 day is a 5 minute walk, and loading and unloading the car was achieved by on road parking where you have a hours stay. There is a local shop right opposite the entrance which was handy and a few public houses serving food. The courtyard garden however is not sole use which was a shock when we returned back to find a party sat right in front of the French windows it appears to be shared with the postmasters accommodation it is not just access as advertised so privacy was a issue it was very hot and we had to keep the dog indoors and keep the French doors closed which wasnt ideal there is two tables in separate places but only 4 chairs and said party took them all and a bench so be aware especially if you have a dog this is a shared open space with potentially up to 6 people in the accommodation linked to the cottage there was a little noise from the pub beer garden a few doors down but not late at night and was only because we were blessed with beautiful weather and everyone was sat outside.

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed stay and minor problems were quickly dealt with."

Only problem is lack of nearby parking. Apart from that would thoroughly recommend the property.

Dear Kenneth, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry that you had difficulty parking. There is plenty of parking in Winchcombe but it is tucked away and rather poorly signposted. The local town council are arranging for new signage to be erected to help visitors easily navigate from the large car park on Back Lane which costs £1 for 24 hours parking, this is about 5 minutes walk from my property. A more expensive car park on Bull Lane costs £4 for 24 hours and is located just behind the Lion Inn, a couple of doors down the hill from us. In response to your feedback I will make sure that all future guests get more comprehensive parking information ahead of their visits. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay and it was a pleasure to host you. Kind regards Helen Property Owner

The garden was also great. It would be good to somehow section off the far end of the garden… maybe a gate/ small fence by the shed to ensure dog safety. The listing was misleading to say there was WIFI, the reality is the WIFI is patchy at best. Most of the time we couldn’t connect to it. The TV also needs looking at - the picture quality is poor with horizontal lines across! Possibly just a new cable needed. Clearly we went on holiday to see the Cotswolds but not having WIFI & a decent TV image for relaxing evenings was annoying.

Dear Kelly Thank you for your feedback which I appreciate. I am delighted to tell you that a new internet mesh system is being connected throughout my properties this week and I can promise excellent wifi and tv signals moving forwards. Winchcombe as a medieval town has had very poor telecomms cabling until this year when a new fibre optic broadband was installed. I intend to take full advantage of it! • "A very comfortable cottage in an excellent location for exploring the Cotswolds."

A slightly unusual reason for us visiting; I had qualified for the National Annual Brass Band Championships, which was on the Sunday at Cheltenham Racecourse and I decided to extend a weekend in Cheltenham to a week in the Cotswolds staying in this cottage. I am very glad we did so. My wife and I took our border collie and we had several happy days exploring an area neither of us had been to before. Winchcombe is a delightful little town and our dog Skye enjoyed several very pleasant walks, including some from the cottage itself. Access through an entrance beside a shop is different to anything we had experienced before. Once the gate was closed and we were behind the shop, we had total privacy as if we were entering a different world each evening. Having a garden with the cottage was important with a dog, and a dog's bed with dog's treats were very thoughtful extras and much appreciated. If the band qualifies again in future years, we will certainly do the same!

The accommodation was lovely and worked well for two adults and one dog. Location also great. Lots of thought has been put into making it accessible such as the bath access and chair which was nice to see. Our only issue was comfort - we found the bed and sofa very uncomfortable sadly, we do appreciate personal preference though. The bed for us was very hard and pillows too high so would take our own pillows if staying again.

Dear Olivia, Thank you for your feedback. I am concerned that you found the bed too hard, so have just purchased a memory foam matress topper which we will be fitting to the cottage super kingsized bed. The kitchen was well equipped. Kettle could have done with a de-scale. We found the bed extremely uncomfortable, and contemplated coming home the next day. We had 2 nights but did come home a day early. The towels had seen better days, they were very hard and didn’t smell very nice once wet. The owners left some nice touches, a bottle of wine and some chocolate biscuits.

Hi Jenny Thank you for taking the time to give me some feedback on your stay. I will pass on your comments about the towels to my laundry company and will personally descale the kettle. I'm sorry that you found the bed unfomfortable. Bed preferences and their desired softness/hardness/height etc seem to vary from person to person, however we regularly get compliments on the comfort of our beds. The only adverse comment we have received on the Sorting Office bed was from an elderly guest who found it too low. I will canvass future guests on the bed and will take a decision as to whether to replace the bed based on their feedback. Kind regards Helen Plumb Property Owner

Perfect setting, quite and tranquille but admist all amenities of Winchcombe town centre with supermarket opposite, bakery, chinese take away bars and restaurants all within two hundred yards. Helen was very helpful and friendly, providing us with all information we needed before and during our stay. Ideal for touring the Cotswolds, with national trust and english heritage propertys, several theatres, cinemas, Stratford, Cheltenham, Cirencester, Oxford and Gloucester and further nice little towns and villages nearby. There ist plenty to see and to do.

  • "This cottage is in an excellent location for walking and National Trust properties."

Although on one level, it feels very spacious and has the added bonus of private outside terrace where one can eat out. The owner lives nearby and is very helpful recommending places to visit and answering any queries. We would recommend this property to anyone considering a short or long break in the beautiful Cotswolds.

  • "Helen and Robert provided us with lots of good information prior to our arrival and also checked with us during our stay whether we had everything we needed or wanted anything."

It's important to have a good property but it's also important to have owners who show they care about your holiday. All amenities that you would want are on the property and it is in a great location for food and drink with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. There may not be a parking space directly attached to the property but there are plenty of safe places to park your car within a minute or two's walk. Highly recommended.

  • "This cottage was in a perfect location, right on a street where all the shops were and a lovely pub."

Even though it was on the street once inside you could not hear the road at all very peaceful. It had everything we required. It was very bright inside and very comfortable.
