We highly recommend both Haye on Wye, and "The Viking Games" where the Axe Throwing and Archery are awesome (Well worth the 40 minute drive, trust us). Lovely place Clean and modern. Would have been better if one of the bedrooms had two twin beds which if wanted could be pushed together to make a double as we had two boys with us that didn’t want to share a bed. We didm’t sleep very well as the mattress and pillows were too hard/firm. Also the neighbours dog barked early in the morning every morning waking us up. Having to checkout at 9:30am not good having to rush around to get out by then. Would be good to extend the checkout time to at least 11:00 am. Did get a little chilly upstairs in the evening which couldn’t adjust the temperature upstairs as it only would set at a certain temperature. Downstairs temperature was fine to adjust. The cupcakes on arrival was a lovely gesture they tasted delicious Thankyou.

Thank you for your positive comments. We are sorry to hear you found the temperature and bed did not suit you. The information when you book does explain that both beds are a double and a king size. The temperature can easily be adjusted and there is a guide in the welcome pack, and we always leave our contact details in the welcome book if guests have any problems we can always pop in and help, living on site allows to do that with ease. Our check out and in times allow us to clean the holiday homes to the high standard that we expect, without that time Lugg View would not achieve such cleanliness We wish you both well Jarrod and Steph Property Owner

The views from the balcony watching the squirrels was so nice and the extra touch of complimentary cupcakes & milk to have a cuppa straight away was so thoughtful thank you. Would highly recommend to friends and family and we can’t wait to visit again, we did not want to leave.

I so enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the birds. It is toasty and warm even in January. The bed, sheets and duvet are so comfy and luxurious I loved getting snuggled in bed at night. Wonderful places to visit. Goodrich Castle - take water to throw in the well and wait...wait...wait. Worcester Cathedral tours of the cathedral and the library (the latter you must book in advance) was absolutely awesome. You can just wander about for free too if you prefer. The hot tub is such a treat. Star gazing at the end of the day was fantastic. Turn all bubbles and lights off to get the most of the night sky. Then enjoy the lovely massaging jets, bubbles and pretty lights. The hosts are very friendly and helpful but also give you the space to just enjoy your fabulous break. I totally recommend this lovely place for the most wonderful break. ENJOY!

Wow what amazing feedback, we truly appreciate the detail for future guests and completely agree with your tip about turning all the lights off to enjoy watching the stars, it is just wonderful in the countryside with no competing light. Wishing you all the best Jarrod and Steph Property Owner

The four cup cakes and bottles of beer and prosecco were a nice welcome surprise on arrival too. Jarrod, the owner, was charming and helpful. I do agree with a previous review that, as good as the place is, the settee is very low and difficult to get up from if you are of a certain age and if you have any physical issues. The two wicker style armchairs look stylish but are really not comfortable to sit in either but I would not wish to discourage anyone from booking the place - it is quite excellent overall and the hot tub is delightful. The surroundings are lovely, the location of Lugg View in particular feels secluded and very private.

We loved the hot tub, but the water wasn't hot enough. WiFi could have been stronger as couldn't use some apps. Other than that the cottage is stunning. It's a shame there wasn't much to do in the area.

Thank you for your positive feedback, it is appreciated and we are pleased you found the barn stunning. We do always share a welcome book for guests with ideas and suggestions but always say please do let us know if you want further ideas given we have lived in Herefordshire for 55 years. We are sorry you didn’t feel the area offered you enough to do, it is a beautiful county with lots to do outdoors and in the countryside. The temperature on the hot tub is set at 38 degrees for all of our guests and can be adjusted, at 38 degrees the hot tub water is hot, so not sure why it was not hot enough, but again we do urge guests to contact us if there are problems and we can help, this is the same for the Wi-Fi, we could have rebooted the Wi-Fi for you. Although the dining chairs around the kitchen island were very comfortable, the sofa and wicker chairs were not. We brought in a chair from the balcony as the sofa was too low for sitting comfortably. Lovely outdoor space which, sadly, we couldn’t make use of in late February/early March. We were glad that we picked Lugg View as it was the most private of the properties on the complex. The addition of a broom would be useful as it is a large area to sweep up with a dust pan and hand brush! We didn’t see the owners at all during our stay.

Thank you for your feedback. We always appreciate feedback and do consider carefully what guests say. We have just purchased two new sofas and a big cuddle chair for the snug. Whilst we loved the look of the wicker chairs, and they were not cheap , we too thought they were not very comfortable. We hope future guests enjoy the comfort Property Owner

It was very clean & well maintained. Some of the areas, in the bedrooms, we're quite small & tight, but we're manageable. The outside area with the hot tub was very private & was also protected from the winds. The venue is in a lovely place & is ideal as a base for walkers & cyclists, with some great areas like the Malverns only a short drive away. It is also just a short 15 minute drive to Hereford centre for shopping. Our hosts were very nice & are very approachable with good local knowledge for days out & for places to eat locally.

We’d definitely consider coming back again and have already recommended to family and friend. One very small thing….we couldn’t find an oven glove? I had to use the tea towel which wasn’t ideal. I also think a place with multiple accommodations should also consider having an electric charging point fitted. We go away a lot and it’s something that a lot of places have….especially in more rural areas.

Everything was perfect with Lugg View, we’ve stayed in lots of different accommodation with Sykes and this was definitely the best. It’s the first time in a long while that we’ve both felt totally relaxed. The accommodation is fantastic, immaculately clean and has everything you could want, they’ve thought of everything. It’s designed brilliantly, with the living area upstairs, we sat on the balcony and ate breakfast looking out at the fields. The hot tub is massive and again immaculate. The communal gardens are well kept and although we didn’t use the communal bbq I can imagine it would be lovely. Jarrod was on hand throughout and recommended some fab places to eat and take the children, nothing was too much trouble. We were very sad when the week was over! We loved it that much that we’ve booked to go back again and we’ve booked the other units for family too!

We were not happy with the fact that the fields in the photos are not in fact for our use and the bbq is communal which is not properly advertised. The “garden” shown in the photos is a bit mis-leading due to the divider from the balcony not being shown and the fields are private property. The dog next door seems to bark at all times and kept waking us up which was not great. We also had a lot of bugs around which put us off slightly even if we were sat inside with the balcony door open. The front door is not easy to unlock at all, we all struggled as it seems to be jammed and not easy to use. There could be a kettle to make it a bit easier too however It was a nice stay and the hot tub was clean.

With a mix of buildings from almost every British era, eclectic Hereford is a popular base for those seeking to explore the locale – being ideally placed for accessing the Black and White villages of the region, not to mention the delights of neighbouring Shropshire, Worcestershire and The Cotswolds. Famous as a cider producing town, Hereford is also the home of the Mappa Mundi, the largest and most elaborate pre-15th century map in existence, which resides in the cathedral alongside the famous Chained Library – a collection of over 1500 rare books from as early as the 8th century. Nearby is the half timbered town of Leominster, filled with medieval buildings, often overhanging the street, and also accessible is the natural splendour of Symonds Yat, a rocky outcrop on a 5 mile bend of the River Wye, with spectacular views and the opportunity to spot protected peregrine falcons flying from their nests.
