  • "Strange muddy driveway lined with odd sticks making it narrow"

We were very sorry to hear your stay at the Piggery wasn't up to your expectations. Weather conditions have proved difficult with the driveway, therefore, we have tried to keep cars off the grass verge to eliminate muddy tracks, hence, marker posts. • "We were completely charmed by The Piggery."

The cottage provided rustic comfort and the grounds are lovely, with the views over the tidal Severn adding an extra dimension. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and we appreciated the milk and cake greeting us on arrival.. i don't think we have ever spent a holiday in such a peaceful and private setting. My only minor issue was that the ensuite in the twin room is bijou and presented a challenge to mynsevere mobility problems, but it was good physiotherapy! If we are fit enough to be able to go on holiday next year, we will definitely return.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed the location of the property and the lovely cake. A cup of tea and a slice of cake - just what you need when you arrive after a long journey. We would love to welcome you back again for another stay soon. Best wishes Manor Cottages. Property Owner

Large, well equipped kitchen and adequately sized living area for five people. The views are amazing, the reception warm and with two bathrooms you can't go wrong really. The TV was so small we had to pull it forward to we could see it. The pillows and beds were very uncomfortable and it is not suitable for anyone who is disabled. The shower needs updating , when using the shower the water went everywhere .

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay at The Piggery. On investigation, there were no wasps nests to be found at the property. There are many bees in the area and they do gravitate towards the flowers and the vines that grow around the cottage. They are very busy at this time of year! We're very sorry to hear that the TV was too small for you. Previous guests have not found the size of the TV to be an issue but we have taken note of your comments for future reference. We have had lots of guests with mobility issues stay over the years and many have returned year on year as they have found the property more than suited to their requirements. With regard to the shower, we will look into any adjustments, if needed, we realise shower curtains can cause issues. Again, we appreciate you leaving feedback on your stay and hope that you had a lovely break away. Property Owner

The property

The Piggery is in every sense unique - not just by name!

Hidden off a narrow lane, this old barn which once housed (you guessed it!) pigs, has been transformed into a welcoming and cosy holiday home that enjoys the most breathtaking views across rolling Gloucestershire countryside down towards the River Severn.

The owners are wonderful hosts taking, providing seasonal flowers and tasty sponge cake for your arrival, and happily give tips on what to do nearby - naturally you could do nothing other than sit inside or out and take in the amazing views - as the pictures don't do it justice!

The gardens that surround you are packed with cottage style plants, and the 'Viginia Creeper' that cloaks the barn and changes almost daily simply beautiful.

Inside, lights floods in through large windows in all rooms, all a good sized rooms and all furnished traditionally as befits the building and location.

Although you're set in a large meadow, civilization is down the lane, with a good pub about 800 yards away and a small shop too.

This is a special and traditional holiday home, worth the journey and the hunt to find it as once you arrive and see the view you'll relax immediately.

We love it.The accommodation is all on one level which means that it is suitable for those with limited mobility.
