• "As a disabled person I always select our stays with Sykes, I fine their details of each and every property extremely helpful."

  I have to have properties that are on one level, along with walk in shower facilities, I always take a few items from home to help my stay, but these are minimal. Our stay at Orchard view was fabulous, the cottage is a home from home, from the moment you walk in you know that you are going to be comfortable, as we visited in Feb not the warmest or driest of times to holiday. It was warm and cosy as soon as you walked through each room. Both bedrooms are spacious and both have more than enough storage space, you would have to take an enormous amount of clothing to fill the wardrobes and drawers, Our super king sized bed was sooooo comfortable, and a good height to get in and out of, I cannot stand upright from low furniture. Jacques the home owner was super helpful, and knowledgeable about the area and what things are available to do. Our granddaughter loved the hot tub as did I, I was amazed that I was able to get in and more importantly back out, with help from my partner and granddaughter. Even though the weather was cold the hot tub was a dream, helped with my aches and pains and so relaxing. As you can gather I could go on forever about this cottage. The scenery from each room is glorious, even if you are not interested in horses you cannot help but love the landscape and it is so peaceful.

• "The property owner (Jacques) contacted us soon after we made our booking, with clear directions to the cottage, as well as a list of recommended restaurants, and a list of what would be provided and what we would need to bring."

  On the day, he welcomed us personally, and gave us a tour around the place. Throughout the stay, he made himself available by telephone if we had any problems. The property was really cosy - it felt like staying in a home, rather than a hotel, which was absolutely lovely. The hot tub was warm and ready for us the moment we arrived, and Jacques was incredibly generous with the supplies he provided. There was ample crockery and cookware, and the facilities were all clean and functional. The property more than lives up to the pictures - the views out of the window were really very pretty, and Jacques has a number of horses. He was frequently up and about with them, and he and his wife were always friendly and up for a nice chat, and advice on things to do in the area. We'd be very pleased to stay here again. Thank you so much for a lovely few days!

• "Such a stunning property and we had an amazing week there."

  Surrounded by nothing but countryside, it really is the perfect remote getaway. Jacques couldn’t have been more hospitable and has a great local knowledge of the area. Would highly recommend and suspect it’s even more beautiful in the summer!

• "We had a very warm welcome from Jacques who was both friendly and helpful throughout our stay and introduced us to his horses."

  We were also able to watch dressage practice in the arena from our patio. The cottage itself is spacious, spotlessly clean and warm. Oodles of storage space in the bedrooms and kitchen and an extensive supply of kitchen equipment. Everything is top quality (excellent chair and lamp for reading) and comfortable. A great location for visiting the area - we particularly enjoyed Ross on Wye, Tewkesbury, Upton upon Severn, Ledbury and the Forest of Dean. A wonderfully relaxing place to stay. Will be very happy to book a return visit.

• "Fantastic cottage."

  So well equipped and the owner is so helpful regarding any requirements and also local knowledge with great recommendations of what to do and where to eat out etc. The hot tub is a great addition also. Would highly recommended and will definitely be coming back in the future.

  ! Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We asked and received recommendations of where to visit and where there were great places to eat. The cottage was very comfortable and clean. We also made good use of the hot tub If we ever journey to Gloucestershire again, we would not hesitate to book this accommodation.

• "We arrived to a warm welcome from Jacques and his housekeeper Phyllis."

  The cottage was spacious, spotless and homely. The location is idyllic, peaceful and relaxing with views of the garden, orchard and horses in the paddocks. We absolutely loved our time there and didn't want to leave. The location is ideal for visiting so many places, so we'll definitely return. We shared several interesting chats with Jacques, a very thoughtful and interesting man. His three dogs were good fun too. A brilliant stay all round, thank you.

  Clean, comfortable and homely. Jaqueline is very welcoming and interesting, a perfect host. The hot tub is a joy and avaliable for use at anytime of the day or night! Lots of places to visit all within half an hours drive. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future.

• "We had a lovely stay at orchard view, will definitely be back."

  The owners were so welcoming and friendly my daughter loved the rope swing and watching the horses. We loved the evenings when they used to bring the dogs round and she would throw the ball for them. The accommodation was very comfortable and the hot tub was a nice extra to have. The kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we needed for the week. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

• "Well what can i say this holiday home is one of the best we have stayed in yet everything you would need for a good stay is included the house it self was finished to a high standard and was very clean and tidy the out side space is amazing with a lovely hot tub which was checked on a daily basis the owners were very helpful explaining everything about the hot tub etc to us and recommending places to visit which was a big help i would highly recommend orchard view thanks Jacques and family for a great stay hope to return in the near future!"

• "Thank you Jacques (owner), who made the place feel like a wonderful home from home, as we didn't have to ask for anything."

  We had a wonderful stay. The bed was the biggest bed we have ever slept in, the size 55" TV was the perfect size, & the hot tub temperature was kept just right, as Jacques checked and cleaned it every day. We have been to many 4/5 star properties and could not fault any of it. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was it didn't have a bath or bathrobes for the hot tub, however, that is just personal preference. There is nothing we didn't like We will definitely be back!!!

• "What an amazing break-away we just had at Orchard View."

  The photos on the listing do not do the property justice, its stunning and located in a truely idyllic area. The only sounds you'll hear are the birds, horses and occasional sheep. Jacques the owner is a really friendly, helpful and interesting charecter, and nothing we asked was too much trouble. He even allowed our daughters to visit the stables and meet his horses, which made their day. He was an excellent host. The house is very well appointed, with fresh bread, cookies, eggs, butter,milk, coffee, tea, sugar, oil and condiments all provided, as well as dishwasher tablets etc, there really wasnt anything other than toiletries that we needed to bring. The property was very clean, tidy and well presented and was a really nice and homely place to relax in, we especially liked waking up with the patio doors open, looking out over the fields whilst listening to nature. Outside was a large garden area with dining area, private parking and an awesome hot tub, which was kept at a very pleasant 38c and was freshly cleaned, filled and heated prior to our arrival... The kids loved the hot tub! All in all we are so happy we found this amazing gem of a property and will certainly visit again!
