  We slept so well in the most comfortable bed & woke to the sound of the waterfall which was sheer bliss. The hot tub was nice to relax with some bubbly & on hot days, to cool down in after long walks. Mike & Belinda are lovely hosts & we highly recommend the Bee Fairy products but best of all .. Belinda’s Damson Ketchup !

• "A FANTASTIC property, in beautiful, magical surroundings."

  Everything was thought of, and catered for, by the lovely hosts Belinda and Mike. Mill Cottage was even MORE stunning in real life, dog walks a beautiful brook and waterfall that was so calming and hypnotic, right next to the mill. That along with the serene woodland, orchard and meadows on the doorstep made for a beautiful, peaceful holiday that we will remember and talk of for a long time to come. Thank you.

  ! We had the most relaxing week ever staying at Mill Cottage. Everything was perfect & the cottage is beautiful throughout, seeing the waterfall from every window was amazing. The best welcome pack we've ever had which included home made jam, eggs, delicious cake & even dog treats. It was very well equipped & the walks from the door through private grounds were just lovely. Perfect for Rosie too! Thanks Belinda & Mike for a great week we hope to come back again soon

• "This is a great location for the area, and let’s face it a very different place to stay."

  Time of year for the location is key, soil tends to be clay and with so much rain many low areas are just bog or very slippy - nothing to do with the owners, just that weather! Property we liked - naturally with so many stairs not suitable if you're not able. There are some minor areas of improvements in the property and site but very minor and should put anyone off. Walks from the property especially the wood at the top of the hill down the valley I recommend. Many other walks in the area are good - but better when not so wet! There are many good stately homes to view nearby, any everyone in the area is friendly, but pub food serving days has been restricted in many local pubs - always best to call!

  The hot tub and welcome hamper were treats. The set up of the cottage is ideal for those with dogs with a handy wash down/ towel drying area! We had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay, thank you. The Bee Fairy products made by the owners are lovely too.

  Beautiful property and grounds; a lovely place to relax and unwind. We felt at home. Our dog Lulu is very much part of our family and it meant a lot to us that she was made so welcome too. Hamper of local goodies was a nice touch; it was a lovely treat after a long journey. We will definitely be returning for another break.

  Such a relaxing and tranquil setting, and Belinda & Mike are lovely hosts. The cottage is well equipped, particularly for dog owners, there was even a fresh bowl of water on arrival as well as dog treats (part of a very well stocked human welcome hamper!), dog towel and guards for the garden to keep them secure. A very thoughtful holiday cottage, allowing you to truly unwind!

  Set in a valley amidst beautiful countryside it makes a perfect getaway from everyday life. The cottage is well equipped & the owners have succeeded in making this property both stylish & comfortable. There are some lovely finishing touches to the cottage that you do not often find. The welcome hamper was a perfect example of this. We had a very enjoyable holiday.

• "The property was lovely and quirky."

  The location setting was perfect and we both felt very relaxed from the moment we arrived. We received a very warm welcome and quickly settled in. As a converted old building, there was bags of character. The only part of the building we weren't as comfortable in was the lounge/kitchen as it felt like it needed more light. We made extensive use of the wood burner hot tub and enjoyed the produce made on site. We were also lucky enough to experience bee keeping, learning about the bees and honey production. Needless to say, we purchased honey to take home, along with some other goodies.

• "A lovely cottage, extremely comfortable, in a beautiful and quiet area."

  Lots of walks from the front door. A very safe place for dogs to wander. The hot tub was a delight although a bit of a faff to do ourselves and Mike was far more efficient at heating it up than we were. Mike was also extremely hands on and sorted out any problems instantly. There was a marvellous welcome pack on arrival including treats for the dog. Belinda and Mike are very friendly hosts and we would recommend Mill Cottage.

  The waterfall outside the window was very soothing at night and the hot tub was lovely. we had a wonderful relaxing time with plenty of walks from Mill Cottage. Belinda left us cakes, apple juice for when when arrived which was delicious and very welcome after our journey there. Couldn't of asked for better hosts or accommodation. I would recommend this place to anyone.

It’s a shame Sykes we’re so poor at communicating, but don’t let their poor service detract from the wonderful property and the generosity and warmest of welcomes from Mike and Belinda who feel like friends! The cottage is stunning with so much attention to detail and the tranquil setting is a real haven. I will never forget listening to the hypnotic sound of the waterfall and the hot tub is the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring this beautiful part of the world.

  The cottage is set within such beautiful & tranquil grounds surrounded by wonderful countryside. The hamper filled with home produce was an unexpected delight. The hot tub filled with natural spring water located next to the waterfall is an experience not to miss. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and furnished to a high standard being not too far from a choice of great pubs and farm shops catering for all needs providing you are able to negotiate plenty of steps, since the cottage is set over three levels. Having spent a week at Mill Cottage, we can understand why a return visit would be on the cards. L&T

  Belinda and Mike are fabulous and have struck exactly the right balance between being on hand if you need them and in the background if you don’t. Special mention has to go to Ola - the best dog host ever! If you want a magical, words can’t describe it experience, then this is the place for you! I was brought up to share which is why I’m writing this review, but really I just want to keep Mill cottage as my very own secret happy place!   Welcome basket a lovely treat. The only downside with the area were the walks, as we like to take out dog the walks on the public footpaths were inaccesable as most of them were across farmland which was obvious the farmers didnt like you going across their land so it wasnt easy walking and not clearly signposted we decided not to bother after making three attempts on different so called public footpaths.

  My wife, Emma, and myself travel extensively around the world but we've never found such an idyllic location before; quite simply, it's perfect. Set in a wooded valley, surrounded by rich woodland, Mill Cottage is a quirky but delightful and truly beautiful building - a lovingly restored water mill with luxuriously appointed accommodation arranged on three storeys complete with a babbling mill stream which cascades gently past virtually every window. There's also a tasteful terrace and patio with views up the tree-lined, wooded valley. The patrons, Mike and Belinda are as welcoming as could be desired - a friendly, outgoing pair of charming hosts. Yes, if you're searching for paradise, look no further!

  Belinda and Mike couldn't be more helpful, and they've appointed the cottage with everything you need. We struggled initially with the wood-fired hot tub (we're city-dwellers!), and should have asked for their help sooner - but just use loads of wood and it soon gets lovely and hot. There are loads of walks starting from their land - short ones and all-day ones: we particularly enjoyed our walk to Kyre Pool and back, via the nearby pub. We would love to go back in the future.

  The waterfall made the experience even better and being tucked away into the valley you really felt like you had escaped everyday life for a few days of relaxation. I could not recommend The Baitling House more as local eatery the food was incredible and I would 100% recommend The Mill Cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing countryside getaway.

  The old mill has lots of character, with its own waterfall and babbling brook. Home from home feeling, everything necessity provided. Nice Inns just a few miles away with great menu’s. Many places to visit within a 15 mile radius, the Brockhampton estate recommended. Really could not of wished for a more relaxing holiday.

  Belinda and Mike have worked together to give you everything you need. Believe me the standard is outstanding. The Mill cottage is beautiful and you will not want your holiday to end. Belinda and Mike are on hand if needed and you will feel as if you have known them forever. A most beautiful place to stay. We have used Skye's for many years but this Mill Cottage is a gem and must be visited to fully feel the experience of going back in time. Excellent in every way.

  Attention to detail is amazing. Welcome basket with eggs and fresh bread and treats for the dogs. The cottage is so welcoming and we felt immediately at home, lovely spacious bedroom with king size bed, the bathroom is so luxurious with slipper bath. The hot tub perfect after a day walking and sun bathing. And the walks with the dogs the best ever!. Beautiful setting with horses, sheep and chickens. Have fallen in love with this place and cannot wait to return .

• "This is a beautiful private spot in the countryside, lots of different walks for the dog around the acres of land around the cottage."

  The hot tub is a wood fired one and does take several hours to heat up, this can be organised for your arrival for an £8.00 charge and there is some spare logs provided for further uses and then you have to pay for further logs when the ones provided have been used up. The waterfall is right next to the cottage and you can see it close up out of the windows. Overall this is a great place to get away from it all with your dog.

  As you move up the driveway the view of this old mill and its waterfall-style millrace is breathtaking. Inside, the cottage is tasteful and comfortable.   ..! As we were not able to get out further afield, the cottage was more than adequate, we felt at home, very comfortable in the luxuriously styled home from home. We were able to watch the wildlife from the comfort of the lounge. The added bonus of being able to walk in the surrounding grounds of the owners. They were very welcoming and left a lovely starter pack of local produce, nothing too much trouble. A place to visit again.

• "This cottage was beautifully decorated with a luxurious finish in idyllic country surroundings."

  We very much enjoyed the hot tub (please note it takes at least three and a half hours to heat up fully) and had a very peaceful break full of lovely walks. We feel it was quite misleading to say that this cottage has wifi. There is an extender that links to the router in the owner's building which seldom works. We struggled to even access our emails which proved to be frustrating when trying to look for local attractions nearby or doing something simple like checking the weather for the week. There was also no phone signal until you walk for around 10/15 minutes out of the grounds of the property which made it difficult to contact family or friends easily. Despite these things, we did have a lovely, relaxing week and would recommend this cottage for those who want to get away from everything for a while.

• "Amazing cottage!"

  Clean, comfortable and finished to a very high standard. The hosts are friendly and very welcoming. Log fired hot tub is a real bonus! Easy to use and great place to relax after a day exploring. We will definitely be staying here again!
