We have just returned from a hen weekend at longmynd, the house is just absolutely stunning, when the sun was shining you would of thought you were abroad, the house is huge, the beds are unbelievably comfy, the view is stunning, communication with the owner was fantastic and fast, I generally could not fault our stay at all, the hen was blown away and longmynd made the weekend incredibly special, thank you so much

It is also perfect for large groups, the beds are comfortable and the rooms are all a decent size, definitely fit for purpose. I would highly recommend the house and would use it again. The owner communication was great and couldn’t do more to help answer any queries.

  • "The Longmynd is perfect for a large family/group stay."

Secluded for privacy but with an excellent little pub a 5 minute walk, with Gloucester Town Centre and the Forest of Dean a short 15 min drive away. The Longmynd had all the amenities we needed, a clean, comfortable house with loads of extras that made our break more enjoyable. This ranged from an excellent garden overlooking the Severn, to a large Hot Tub, to an incredible living area upstairs. Little touches such as a Juke Box, Cocktail Bar and Desktop Ice Machine made this house better than others we have stayed in. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

The view from the living spaces is breathtaking and although on the main road, once in the house it didn’t register at all! Usually we like to go to different places each year but this property is the first that may tempt us to return!! Eclectic but tasteful decor and the fabulous hot tub (inc lighting and sound system) were the icing on the cake. Thank you!

We loved every minute of our stay, the house was big and spacious enough for us all to be able to have our own spaces. The dining and kitchen area created a great atmosphere for us to cook and eat together on an evening. The large glass doors in the kitchen and living room allowed us to take full advantage of the summer afternoons, which were also complimented by the outdoor seating area and barbeque which provided a great space to unwind and enjoy each other's company. The view from the back of the house which overlooked the river that had people paddle boarding along created a great summer vibe. On top of the house being up to a great standard, the host was amazing! Any issues we had were solved via text soon after, he also offered to come and sort all issues out in person. Very friendly host and stunning house.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at this gorgeous home and well maintained garden. From the picturesque lake views at breakfast on the balcony, to our party surprises at sunset: we sure will cherish the memories! The owner was really helpful with questions throughout the stay. He was so kind to accommodate us with special requests to help with our 3 hour journey back home ! The outdoor seating comfortably seated all the bridesmaids as we sung the night away. The large kitchen was supplied with crockery and cutlery allowing us to enjoy our meals and snacks. overall good stay and good private environment, no noise from neighbours so was able to do our own thing without interruption and felt very relaxed within the home. Rooms were a good size to sleep in and comfortable; however the ceilings may need dusting off as there were spiderwebs everywhere. Showers could do with abit of door fixtures.

The welcome Prosecco and chocolates were a lovely touch! The house was so clean and the beds were super comfortable! It slept 11 of us perfectly and for a large house was very well heated! The hot tub is a super special touch and was just what we needed after a countryside run! Graham (the owner) was quick to reply to messages if we needed him and was very accommodating. The only downside was no sky or normal tv channels for the men to watch rugby. We had Netflix which was great for the children! On the whole it was such a perfect stay! My only tip would be to do a big online shop before you arrive, there aren’t any shops in the close vicinity and the pub which is walking distance wasn’t the best for food! I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family and we would most certainly return!! Thank you!!

There was plenty of space indoors for 6 adults plus four children . We made great use of the hot tub during the evening. The views over the Severn were wonderful especially on my daughter’s birthday where we were greeted with a spectacular sunrise. There was plenty to do in the surrounding area including Dean Forest Railway and Puzzlewood which were particular highlights. Can also recommend the Severn and Wye Smokery for dining out. Thoroughly recommend!

The hot tub was great & the outdoor lighting was very pretty. Graham was on hand to answer any question we had & was really helpful in providing information about the area . The ziplink beds were fantastic for a group of ladies enabling us to all have our own bed . Graham contacted us prior to arrival to ask how we would like the beds arranged & everything was made up & ready for us. The welcome fizz & chocolates was a lovely touch . The only thing we thought could be improved was the bedside lighting, there were a few lamps but they seemed to be for show rather than practicality. The ones that worked were like fairy lights so no good for reading or finding your way to the bathroom during the night? Would definitely recommend this beautiful property.
