  • "We had a wonderful family holiday at Hunters Moon."

The house was lovely and in a peaceful location. The kitchen was fab and provided a base for the entire family to relax and play games. Thank you to Michelle who responded swiftly twice (one was our fault) and the other a rogue toaster (quick replacement was issued). This was much appreciated. The house was great and perfect for a multi-generational family holiday. Lots of rooms for parking and spectacular views. The welcome pack was appreciated, especially the cake! We would thoroughly recommend to other large groups.

It was lovely to meet your lovely group and we are really happy that you enjoyed staying with us at Hunters Moon. Thank you for being so good about the half working toaster! We are also pleased that the property suited your group and was perfect for your family break, enjoying getting together. Thank you for your booking. Property Owner

  • "The reviews posted for stays in the summer months do not give a realistic picture for a stay in October We arrived at the appointed check in time of 4."

00 pm to a very cold house as the timer was set to come on at 6.00 pm and we could not get the heating turned on until Michelle came much later to show us how to advance the timer Not a very warm welcome Surely the timer should be set for heating to come on a few hours before check in?? Also the description on the main page of the description is incorrect as it notes there are 5 bathrooms whereas there are only 3 shower rooms and one shared family bathroom Possibly the downstairs cloakroom is included as a bathroom which is not correct Also regarding bathrooms, one leaked whenever it was used making a large puddle on the ground floor which was a health hazard When we reported this to Michelle she said it was something she was aware of but there were no immediate plans to fix it until there was a void rental week in December! We had problems with the TV reception and this was not rectified until the third day of our stay A tip for the cleaners is that they should pull out the beds and clean underneath as there is a thick layer of dust under some of them A set of sharp kitchen knives would be useful as none of those provided could cut anything Plenty of wine glasses though and the welcome cake provided was appreciated The view was lovely and attention to the above could realise the full potential of this property

Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that the property was cold on arrival which was due to previous guests interfering with the timing clock. This was rectified immediately whilst welcoming your party and I was back home by 5.35pm. The property description clearly states the lay out of each 'bathroom', the images reflect this and there is a clear floor plan listed on the website as well. Thank you for making us aware of the leak during your stay, when you contacted us, you explained that it was a small drip and not causing a problem. I can confirm that this has now been rectified. The TV reception was reported to us by you at 9:54am on the third day of your stay and resolved the same day using a temporary aerial. Since then, an aerial engineer has been who discovered that the booster box had been damaged by furniture being moved and had to be replaced. I am sorry that the knifes weren't sharp, we do provide two knife sharpeners for this reason. I'm glad that you enjoyed the views from Hunters Moon during your stay. • "We had a really wonderful stay at Hunter’s moon for a bit family get-together."

The house was perfectly stocked, including wood for the fire - which was much welcome. Michelle was very friendly and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed for our stay, high chair and extra towels/beds. The views outside this property are fantastic, we even did a circular 2 mile walk from the property which was lovely to see the surrounding area. We will definitely consider coming back, and if you’re wondering whether to book, you should! The reviews saying the property is cold, it wasn’t too bad. The hearing comes on twice daily (so far in Sept) and this was enough with the fire too, we weren’t too cold. Kitchen very well equipped with utensils and pans, enough to do a successful roast for 14 people! Big fridge freezer and separate little living room/games room for younger ones. A perfect home away from home!

Thank you for letting us know that you enjoyed your stay at Hunters Moon. It was good to meet you and well done for managing to arrange some weather decent enough to get in a local walk. Thank you for choosing Hunters Moon and for visiting rural Worcestershire! Property Owner

  • "A wonderful family stay at Hunters Moon over Easter."

A few points to consider , there are no downstairs doors so toddlers need supervision, and noise travels to the downstairs bedroom. The lounge area requires some tlc, and the communal carpets are tired. The kitchen is the hub of the house , large and bright, with its great large table accommodating all the family. little touches like foil and cling film handy for packed lunches. a lovely cake on arrival. we enjoyed our visit to Ludlow castle and the ester egg hunt. A great but strenuous walk from church Stretton to the waterfall at Carding mill valley. and The Gruffol trail walking route at Queenswood, Hereforshire. Overall a great family gettogether at Huntersmoon

I am pleased that you had a wonderful stay at Hunters Moon but we are sorry that you felt the open plan layout meant that you had to supervise your toddlers. For the clarity of others reading this review response, please be assured that there are doors on the cloakroom, snug and bedroom, just open plan living room, hall and kitchen. Kitchen was very well equipped which was great for our cooks/chefs. Only thing was it was quite chilly a lot of the time until we got the log burner going in the sitting room. The radiators were only ever warm. I know it was a ground heat recovery system and the weather being so cold may have affected the amount of heat recovered. Luckily there were loads of blankets in the cupboards so we were able to wrap ourselves up. The location was great with an awesome view and a perfect base from which to travel around doing the "Tourist thing"! All in all would recommend.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Hunters Moon but so sorry that you were chilly at any time. We had 10 of us staying and 15 for the day on Saturday. We had a wonderful time in this beautiful and very well appointed house. Michelle was very helpful when we called her with a few questions both before and after we arrived. There's so much space in the house with a lovely large living room and sweet little snug, plus probably the best and largest kitchen table I've ever seen. The garden is totally fenced off with a good strong five bar gate, so we were able to let our dog out to roam freely. There's also a field at the back of it that we could run him off the lead in, although we did check that this was ok first as some of the fields have livestock in them. There's plenty of parking space, we had seven cars parked up. There's lots of games to play, a very well appointed kitchen, a cosy wood burner and plenty of bathrooms, with a down stairs toilet too. We would definitely recommend staying here and if we ever need to organise another family celebration we would certainly consider Hunters moon cottage as a place to do so.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed such a happy Birthday celebration at Hunters Moon. It'd great to hear that it suited your needs very well and that you enjoyed getting together around the table. Thank you for visiting and we hope to see you again one day. Property Owner

The owner made us very welcome and very good when we needed some help. However, we were a little disappointed as we did not feel the house lived up to the online description and rating. To us the property is getting a little tired and needs some attention. In bedrooms there are broken bed slats, badly creaking beds, a broken louvred wardrobe door and torn curtains. The stair carpet is badly worn on the treads and as mentioned in other reviews the lounge sofas are not comfortable. The Kitchen is a wonderful room for a big party but the two uneven steps from it to the hallway are a hazard to little ones and anyone with mobility issues and I feel should be mentioned in the description. We had a very hot sunny week and enjoyed sitting out, it is a lovely lawned area with an amazing view that could be improved with more shading either natural or manmade. We were attracted by the nicely sized enclosed garden for the youngsters to play in, the sufficiency of bathroom facilities, and the selection of attractions the area offered. We found the house to have been well cleaned for our arrival, and the welcome basket of goodies was a nice touch (thank you!). Rooms were more than adequately proportioned, at no time during our stay did we feel we were 'on top of each other' and most rooms faced the stunning - there's no other word for it - views across the countryside down from the hill. As a bonus the house offered two sitting rooms, and we designated the smaller to be the childrens' play room, which helped contain the avalance of toys they normally precipitate when we get together. The kitchen gave us plenty of room for family meals and was well equiped, although it took us a while to find everything we needed! We found the location very quiet with little passing traffic, especially at night, and everyone slept well in their comfy beds. The owners introduced themselves and were very welcoming when we arrived, and were nicely chatty without being intrusive when we saw them during the week. A highlight of the stay was watching red kites soaring across the sky in the valley below, and hearing their distinctive 'kew' calls as they flew. Two tips for anyone coming to stay here: ladies, don't forget to pack your hairdryer. And, if you like cheese, make sure you pay a visit to the cheese shop in Tenbury - their selection is to die for! Overall a very pleasant stay and finally, the acid test: would we book to stay here again? Definitely!

It would have been better to have either two airers or a washing line. The carpet in the lounge was stained and worn, in one place it could have been a trip hazard where carpet had split. The back cushions on the sofas need re-stuffing as they kept slipping down on to us making it uncomfortable. Towel rail in downstairs toilet kept falling off, needed either changing or putting back on properly. Personally we could have done with more plates and bowls in the kitchen as we had to keep putting dishwasher on and only 4 tea towels were provided, again we had to keep washing them but it was difficult to get them dry to use again due to reasons stated earlier. Two kettles provided but needed replacing due to limescale build up. We did buy de-scaler and descaled one of them them but it still left residue in our cups. We had to boil the water on the hob for the babies bottles as we couldn’t use either of the kettles due to limescale residue. Twin beds upstairs had slats that were not fixed and kept falling off leaving the mattress falling through to the floor. This was rectified when we told the housekeeper when she came to change the bedding and the slats were fixed that day One en suite had a shower curtain which under current climate with COVID we feel it would have been better to have provided a cheap shower curtain for new clients every changeover (just our personal opinion) as not sure if and how how it was being sanitised between let’s? Overall the house was in an excellent location and none of the above ruined our holiday but we believe with a little TLC it would greatly enhance the holiday experience.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Hunters Moon."

The location is absolutely beautiful and we appreciated sitting outside on the warm evenings. We had everything we needed and although this is a large house and there was only three of us, it was still very cosy. I only wish it was not more expensive for the same dates next year as I can assure you we would be back. A very enjoyable stay.

The view is incredible, the access to bathrooms is brilliant and it is well furnished and equipped. Michelle and Roger were so helpful and had come to light the woodburner prior to our arrival and even came to light it a second night when we had messed it up!! Plenty of room for dining and preparing with comfortable and cosy sitting rooms, we would definitely return in future! Thank you!

  • "Our whole weekend was perfect from start to finish."

All 12 of us were able to meet up, including our dogs, for my dads 50th. The kitchen was amazing and full of every appliance you could think of. The cottage itself was warm and cosy, spacious and beyond what we expected. We were able to arrive earlier than the set times to decorate in time for my dads arrival which was a huge relief. Each bedroom was comfortable and warm and each has its own style. The two living rooms were ideal when we needed to have our own space from one another! The cottage had such a lovely character also. Even things like washing up liquid and toilet cleaner was thought of! The list is endless. Our absolute favourite part of our stay was enjoying breakfast together at the huge table looking out onto the gorgeous view. We couldn’t believe all of this for the price we paid. We can’t thank you enough for allowing us to stay and create memories of a lifetime. We’re already looking forward to coming back! Thank you so much, from the Gorst’s.
