  • "We enjoyed the position and the countryside, the owners were helpful and friendly."

We would be very happy to rent the property again. One element that could be improved is the water, when used a rather loud noise of what seemed a pump occurred, accepting we were in the country and that the water needed to be pumped. The kitchen and dining area was reminiscent of the farmhouses I grew up in and provided that warm cosy feeling of all those years ago. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you

It was a welcome surprise to see the cupboards well stocked with useful items like dishwasher tablets, cleaning products, tin foil, kitchen roll, etc. (Thank you)...The property was a short drive from the main road making it very accessible. We loved the peaceful location and countryside views. On arrival there was a very generous welcome pack of tea, coffee, cake, wine and beautiful fresh eggs. We would recommend this property.

Brownies and fizz on arrival were appreciated and overall would highly recommend. Would have liked the bushes by the kitchen window to be cut back to appreciate the view over the fields, and maybe move the broken chairs from the front of the property.

It was immaculately clean throughout, very well equipped, plenty of space and really comfy beds. Yes it is on a working farm, but still a beautiful peaceful location. Plenty to visit in the area, including three National Trust properties. Fabulous fresh eggs and brownies awaiting us on arrival - delicious! One extremely minor point but could have done with oven gloves and a runner between the sofas to avoid cold feet! However, overall everything was perfect!

The accommodation was lovely and clean. The facilities are excellent. A lovely well stocked kitchen. Open plan kitchen/ dining/ sitting room is excellent for families. Dogs are very welcome too. Bedrooms clean and comfortable. Lot's of storage space. It is a beautiful modern cottage. The owners are friendly and helpful. Cottage situated in a mainly peacefully area but its a working farm so expect a little noise occasionally during the day. There is a pub on the corner of the lane Barnaby arms, it looks a little run down and the inside is very rustic but the food was good and very good value. The barman is friendly. He also has a good stock of sweets behind the bar. It doesn't open until 18.30 pm . Overall we had an wonderful stay and will book again for another visit.

  • "The property was in somewhat dire need of upgrade and improvements."

The owner actually even agreed with us concerning the external leisure facilities, way overdue replacement and extending. Both of the settees in the living area we’re really uncomfortable, and it lacked some creature comforts, like side tables and a couple of lamps. In the kitchen cabinets there were only 2 eggcups to be found , .in a 6 berth accommodation, on a farm which houses 32000, chickens , that’s ironic!! The 24/7 hour running of the electricity producing bio mass machine was quite noisy to contend with , when peace and quiet was sought. So, not the idyllic location that was indicated on the website. We believe that Sykes should revisit their holiday let’s more frequently, before allocating overly generous star ratings.

We found a 13mile return walking route missing the roads to Bromyard and back. Another double sofa instead of the chair so 3 couples can all sit together rather than two having to separate would be good but obviously not essential. Somewhere for soap etc in the shower would be handy. We thought a shaver point would have been good but our sons informed us that is old fashioned! But overall exactly what it said on Tin. It is a rural location, so a car is needed to get anywhere which was exactly what we expected given our research and property description. Roger and Sally were excellent hosts, even allowing us use of a vacant farm field for our dog to run around in. The welcome cake was much appreciated after our journey and the cottage is well equipped. The TV reception was not always great and it would be a nice addition to be able to access Netflix etc, especially during colder months when you can't sit outside, but this is a minor thing that did not spoil our stay. Great location Beautifully furnished. Great beds. Lovely shower room. Mega clean and tidy. Great kitchen and so well equipped. We loved it. Great owners who were very helpful. This is very much a working farm with its associated noises and tractors etc. Our dog is hyper sensitive and took a couple of days to acclimatice. The farm doggies are lovely and very friendly. Our dog even managed to make friends!!!!! However you may need to be aware that up the lane from the house are a couple of dog owners who aren’t as responsible and think it’s acceptable to allow their pack of dogs to roam free. My other half had a very unpleasant experience when our little chorkie was harassed by 4 of them. Not a massive issue but just be aware if you take your dog off the lead. But THIS WAS THE BEST (and cleanest)COTTAGE we have ever stayed in and if we are ever in the area again wouldn’t hesitate to rebook.
