"Lovely cottage for 2, great location as in next door to a lovely pub and places to visit."
Everything you needed for a nice holiday. Bed super and top quality bedding. The owner is next door if needed, we locked ourselves out and it was sorted straight away. The village of Medbourne is soooo quiet, even at night we never heard any noise from the pub. Great tv as well, parking no problem, we will return for sure if we return to that neck of the woods.
Thank you Malcolm for the feedback. It was a pleasure meeting you both and glad that you had a good time Property Owner

"I rented this lovely cosy cottage as a base while my boat was having work done."
I liked what I saw online and went ahead and booked myself in. On arrival I was pleasantly surprised that it was better than anticipated. The info provided on booking explained everything simply and clearly. The welcome info pack was very comprehensive and explained where everything was and how to operate them. Also contact details for the owner if more info or help was required. A lovely cosy rural getaway in a beautiful English village with the many delights of Leicestershire within easy reach. Ideal for a weekend break or longer stay.
Thank you for your kind comments I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. Have a great Christmas Property Owner

"We felt the property requires a thorough deep clean."
It is advertised as having central heating but it has plug in oil filled radiators which is not central heating. Some China is chipped & cracked Duvet was old & very heavy. Not up to the standard we expected.
Vernon thank for your feedback I was a little surprised by your comments . I have the property cleaned after each stay and the one bowl with a chip has been replaced. Regards the heating l had recently installed a programmable Climate Star Harmony Heating System which heats the whole house with full instructions. Regards the duvet it is only six months old and can be split to be made lighter. Sorry you did not mention any of the above while here as l was onsite and l would have happily addressed them. "A very pleasant stay in a lovely area."
Ian, our host, was extremely helpful. The cottage was very comfortable and the garden delightful. It was handy having a good pub next door. One addition to the cottage would be a small coffee table. A very pleasant stay and would stay again.

"The property is very nice and comfortable, it's bigger than it shows in the pictures."
The bed is really good, so much that we had a look at the manufactures! The wardrobe has plenty of space. Very nice place and the area is beautiful!!! We had a lovely time. Ian, the owner is very helpful and offered the use of his garden to us. Two negative things: 1) It was not very clean. There were cobwebs in many places, behind the bed there were a lot. The bathroom also no good, it looked that the previous guests cleaned it just superficially, quite dirty behind the toilet seat. My wife had to clean it before we used it. 2) There are not sufficient utensils. We generally don't cook in these cottages, but we like a proper breakfast and there was not a spatula to turn eggs, or a smaller frying pan. The cereal bowls are really small, we had to buy two as we like to have porridge. Otherwise the cottage is excellent!!! That's why we are not giving 5 stars.
Hi Terence, it was a pleasure meeting you both. Delighted that you loved the area and made the most of it. I am glad you found it comfortable and more specious than you thought. Thank so much for your constructive feedback, all the issues you mentioned have been addressed in full. Property Owner

"Second visit this year!"
A charming, welcoming, cosy cottage in an ideal location to explore the numerous pretty surrounding villages and Rutland Water. It has a large bedroom with good storage facilities and a very comfy bed. An added bonus is the tv package including access to Sky, Netflix, Amazon and BT Sport on a wide screen tv. Throughout our stays we found the owner, Ian to be very approachable and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for him. We would have no hesitation in returning.

"Just had the best few days in The Nook a little slice of life."
Where do l start lovely cosy kitchen diner which was fully equipped for one’s needs. Netflix’s and full sports channels were much appreciated by my husband. The bedroom was lovely and airy. Location was perfect for a a very undiscovered part of England. Neville inn on our doorstep was just a bonus. We enjoyed golf at Rutland water and a walk around Hambleton peninsulas with lunch at the Finches arms. Having discovered unfortunately on our last day Rutland water is one of the premier fly fishing and bird watching reservoirs in England. I managed to see Burley House in Stamford and my husband surprised me with afternoon tea in the George what a great end to a wonderful week. Ian was a super host and the use of his beautiful garden was greatly appreciated.

"We loved the location and, for a couple, the property should have given us everything we wanted but it needs some tlc."
.. The bedroom and shower room window frames were mouldy and we had to clean them to feel comfortable about it. We think this is down to the fact that the shower room and bedroom windows can't be opened so the window frames get damp from the steam from the shower not being able to escape. Also the shower room window extractor fan didn't work so was no help with this. I'm sure the owners are trying to provide the best but a goose feather duvet is a mistake. Some of us are allergic to feathers! Niggles over. The location is very quiet despite being only a minutes walk from the local pub. It is also incredibly convenient for local attractions, being less than half an hour from both Market Harborough and Uppingham which lead on to so many other places like Rutland Water, Stamford, Melton Mowbray, etc., etc. We would stay there again but would take our own duvet and seek reassurance about the upstairs windows.
Hi Andy thank you for taking the time review your stay. Regards the extractor fan not working l was unaware and this probably explains the issue you had with the window. I have replaced the fan, also if l had known you were allergic to goose feathers l would have swapped it out for a synthetic one as l have one here. Delighted you love the location and would be happy to come back in the future, Medbourne is a special place. I appreciate your constructive comments in your review. Ian Property Owner

"We thoroughly enjoyed a lovely relaxing week in the peace and comfort of 5A Waterfall Way Medbourne."
In actual fact we enjoyed ourselves so much, that we didn't want to leave at the end of the week. We may consider a Spring/Summertime trip there, sometime in the future.

"Very comfortable house with all the facilities necessary for a couple."
The area is pleasant and quiet. The kitchen is well equipped and everything in it works well which is not always the case in these places. There is ample heating when needed and the tv is excellent. We would gladly stay here again. The owner is amiable and helpful.

"We very much enjoyed our stay here."
It's a little old fashioned but fine for a weeks stay. The living area was actualy larger than it seemed from the photos and it was great to have sky including sports and Netflix . Medbourne is a pretty village and the pub is only a few steps away if rather expensive at £6 a pint! A dishwasher woud be a nice addition but it was great value and quiet at night. The complementary was also much appreciated.
