  • "This cottage was fantastic, small but perfectly formed it had everything I needed and its location very close to the High Street was very convenient."

I loved the way everything you need was there but especially I loved the large well equipped bathroom with shower and bath. The kitchen had everything I needed and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. Thank you

Convenient location. Lovely views at the back, we enjoyed sitting out in the evenings. Lovely welcome pack with wine. Fantastic communication with owners, nothing too much trouble. Would definitely return. Thank you!

The hostess was kind and helpful, and we felt welcome as soon as we opened the small door. The facilities were good, and our toddler found great joy in the staircase, bathtub, and stones. They've managed to keep mucj of the charm and feel of the old house, without compromising on modern facilities, and not once did i hit my head on the small old doorframes!

  • "Lovely, comfortable little cottage renovated to a high specification and centrally located (but quiet, especially with the bedroom at the back of the house)."

Great views over the river and lower town - we were staying over New Year and able to watch fireworks displays from the property. Lots of nearby car parks you can use presuming you don't mind a short walk. Would not be suitable for anyone particularly tall or with mobility issues, but that is clear from the listing.

We loved the views & ease to walk up into the town. The property was spotlessly clean & beautifully furnished. The welcome pack a treat , thank you. We had not the best weather but it did mean we kept an eye on the river levels as it rained heavily. Hope to return to use the patio area & enjoy the sun sometime. Caroline & Rob

  • "Quaint Cottage With Exceptional Views."

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Postage Stamp. The Owners have used clever fittings & furnishings to maximise the space which we found to be both stylish and comfortable. The view behind the cottage was delightful, The sun hit the garden until gone four, the distant lights over the river made evenings sitting on the patio really special too. Bridgnorth, particularly High Town, catered for everything one could need at just a short climb up the hill. Thanks Guys, the welcome pack was really special and the introduction leaflet very informative. - Helen & Family.

  • "Great location and great place to stay, and we loved Bridgnorth."

As the name suggests, the Postage Stamp was quite small, and the doors were VERY low, but all added to the charm of the place. Very clean and stylishly done, and the outside space was very good to use. Really enjoyed our stay here. (We did miss a teapot, though!)…

We did purchase a shower mat as the shower is very slippery and could be dangerous, also while we appreciate the cottage is small (of which we loved). The sofas are not comfortable, but we loved our stay and would recommend it.

It’s in an ideal location, just around the corner from the beautiful Bridgnorth High Street. The cottage is delightful. Everything has been thought of and it is very comfortable. The welcome pack and communication from the owner were fantastic. Don’t be put off by the parking. You can drop bags off outside the door and parking is very close and cheap- £10 for a whole week. We absolutely loved this cottage!

It was very comfortable and cozy just watch your head on low doors .the bathroom was luxurious and we loved the welcome hamper from the owners .I would say the property may not suit people who have limited mobility as it's on a hill near the bottom .but overall we really enjoyed our stay .

Some of the door ways are more suited to short people, we could have done with a large saucepan and a small microwave. Beautifully presented property and the host provided some supplies which was much appreciated. Would recommend and return.

  • "Wow what a beautiful cozy place to stay."

It may seem a little small when you first view the cottage but the use of space the owners have thought of does not make it feel small when you arrive. We were a family of 3. Plenty of room for us all. We arrived to a beautiful welcome pack. The cottage is quirky as they have tried to keep some of the original features while also bringing it right up to date. The living area is comfortable with a wall mounted tv and a wall mounted fire for the cooler months (we didnt need to use it). There is also a little area where you can either sit with a bottle of wine and watch the world go by or our little girl loved sitting having breakfast with the fairy lights and watching out the window. The kitchen is lovely and bright with a good size fridge and a freezer. It has all the essentials to hand. It has a full size oven and hob but no microwave (this didn't matter to us but just so you know). There is a dolce coffee machine with plenty of pods provided. There is a lovely area out the back of the property where you can relax with a lovely view over Bridgenorth. Upstairs the beds are very comfortable. A lovely big bathroom with free standing bath and separate shower. We didn't meet the owners but from any communication we had, they were very friendly and welcoming. It was our little girls 6th birthday while we're were away and they even remembered that which was lovely and made her day. We had a lovely stay and would recommend if you are in the area

  • "Fantastic cottage, location and hosts!"

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay in this very thoughtfully renovated cottage - very unique and a delight to stay in. Great check in email sent from Heather which made arrival and parking easy and a lovely welcome hamper to start the holiday was a great surprise. Location was perfect as we were travelling with a baby but the short stroll to town with many nice places to eat and drink ( Giovanni’s for a coffee in the morning and an afternoon icecream was great as it was at the top of the street) and many walks on the doorstep made it ideal.

  • "The Postage Stamp is a unique and cosy option."

Although you might have concerns before booking that it could be small, it provides more room than you think. Upon entering the property on the first day, I was extremely happy with our choice for our 6 day stay. It has a nice view from the garden, which is a lovely sun trap till early afternoon. Neat kitchen, and comfy dinning chairs. Bathroom is very spacious and a lovely shower and relaxing bath. Bedroom is comfy and kept simple. Headroom on front door and bedroom door, is quirky and only banged head once, but it adds to the character. It is definitely a property for a couple, although can accommodate a third single bed on the 2nd floor. Very close to the town offering lots of pub options as well as a delightful walk in the castle grounds. Parking was available at Stephens Cark Park and cost £10 for the week. The host clearly takes pride in this property. We were blessed with lovely March weather. Warm days and cold mornings. The heating works great, but if you were booking this for the Summer, the garden and views, plus the town would be a lovely, quirky place to stay. If we are in that part of the country again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Thank you, Stuart, so pleased you enjoyed our quirky cottage! You were wonderful guests and we would be delighted to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

The Postage Stamp was warm and welcoming upon arrival, and the owners had made it extra special with a sparkling Christmas Tree and other thoughtful touches. The views over Bridgnorth are delightful and there is a terrace to enjoy them from. Bridgnorth itself has some lovely walks both along the river and around town with plenty of independent shops just a short stroll away. There is an excellent choice of Bars and Restaurants too. The Cottage was also amazingly clean. I parked in the Severn Street car park for a very reasonable weekly rate. The house has been renovated very tastefully and to a high standard. We couldn’t of asked for much more and we were made to feel very welcome with a nice hamper from the host on arrival. The host, Heather, was easily contactable by text/phone and was able to answer any questions we had quickly. We cannot fault her or the property at all. About the location

BRIDGNORTH

Much Wenlock 8 miles; Ironbridge 15 miles; Shrewsbury 20 miles; Ludlow 20 miles; Church Stretton 20 miles.

The market town of Bridgnorth lies in two very distinct halves - the High Town and the Low Town - separated by the red sandstone ridge on which the town is built. The two halves are connected by winding streets and flights of steps, or there is always the steep funicular railway, enabling the weary traveller to glimpse what Charles I called "the finest view in all my kingdom". A bustling Saturday street market provides an ample excuse to explore the town and examine the castle ruins, which lean at a greater angle than the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Flowing below is the River Severn, providing many pleasant riverside walks. The Severn Valley Railway runs between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster, and runs a variety of steam and diesel engines through picturesque country stations. In the areas surrounding Bridgnorth, there are a wealth of country parks, impressive houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages, as well as easy access to The Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, and Ironbridge Gorge, with its 10 museums and striking landscape. The area offers excellent walking, and with the popular destinations of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton all within easy reach, it is ideal for a visit any time of the year.
