  • "An excellent property on a quiet, picturesque road a short walk from Warwick Castle."

An ideal spot in easy walking distance of the town centre with all its amenities. The property was very well furnished to a high standard and proved ideal for exploring Warwick and also various National Trust properties within a 10 mile radius. A welcome pack on arrival with prosecco and fresh flowers was also a nice touch.

  • "This is a lovely property in beautiful surroundings and very conveniently located."

However, it suffers from unpleasant smelling drainage on an almost daily basis (and this wasn't mentioned in the prospectus) and, although steps can be (and have to be) taken to ameliorate this, nevertheless it is a feature. Masses of cutlery and crockery - taken from about 4 different sets each!! Those aside, it was very acceptable indeed!

I’m sorry that the drains were smelly when you were there. Unfortunately depending on the weather they can be smelly for a few days. Being an old cottage with drains which run from 4 cottages under our cottage. We have left notes in the folder to explain and to keep flushing toilets & using the bleach. Again. • "This was a delightful house, booked for a reunion for my mother-in-law and her sisters who live in South Africa/the Netherlands, and they had a wonderful time."

The welcome pack and card were much appreciated, and details of local taxi phone numbers was very helpful, meaning they could enjoy a trip round the supermarket as they didn't have a vehicle. The property is very nicely furnished and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. A slight word of warning for anyone who is less steady on their feet - there are small steps between some of the bedrooms and their ensuites. Not a huge problem, just something to be aware of if you need to visit the bathroom at night! My apologies to the owners/cleaners that the dishwasher was left running on departure day rather than unloaded - I wasn't aware they'd done this until we were several miles away! Many thanks for providing a comfy and homely space for some elderly ladies to spend time together after many years apart.

  • "We were 3 elderly couples and found the house very comfortable and warm, despite the the very cold weather."

Three super easy access bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable, although the sheet and mattress cover on the king size bed wouldn’t stay on - I think they were not deep enough for the very deep mattress. Also, the small bedroom provided quite a challenge for an elderly person, getting in and out of bed with the sloping ceiling coming right down over the far side of the bed. Downstairs worked very well for us. We all ate in the kitchen fitting quite snugly round the table, which meant, on an evening we could use the table in the lounge for things like a jigsaw puzzle and still all be together in one room, while others were watching tv etc. - nice and sociable. We did have a bit of a problem with parking on 2 occasions, as when we returned from a trip out with our 2 cars, we found there was another car parked right in the middle of the parking space, which meant we couldn’t even fit 1 car in the space. Whoever it was, didn’t stay too long , then we had to move our cars back into our space. Talking to the lovely Irish lady next door, we understood that the parking arrangements in Bridge End are just on a gentleman’s agreement basis, but luckily, we weren’t too inconvenienced. The garden is lovely and in warmer weather we would have spent some time out there in the sunshine. The location of the property is lovely, so peaceful and friendly and the walk into town was easy, if a bit noisy with traffic! The town itself was very interesting with lots of interesting history. The restaurants were plentiful and there were some interesting shops. The local area had lots of places to visit for all tastes. I would certainly recommend number 67 to my friends and family. Please feel free to choose whether you publish any of my comments. The positives far outweigh the others, so please be as selective as you wish.

My husband was very happy with Sky Sports! Please don’t let the minus points deter you. Downside - The previous occupants didn’t seem to have put out the bin or recycled waste bags for collection as we spent ages reorganising to make room for our rubbish- lots was dumped unsorted into the household waste, which was totally full. Quite a performance to put out the bins/bags with doors and gates to unlock. Patio area a bit overgrown and messy. Garden not suitable for small children to run about in.

The property

Not far from the centre of the medieval town of Warwick, you will find 67 Bridge End, an outstanding red-brick terraced cottage.

This property has been renovated to the highest standard and has kept its historic roots with exposed brick-work and wooden beams throughout making it picture-perfect for a family get-together.

For those budding chefs, there is a modern fitted kitchen with a large range cooker and a dining table at the end of the room for the rest of the party, who can certainly make use of the separate wine fridge.

The sitting room boasts another, larger dining table as well as two sofas which sit in front of the exposed brick fireplace containing a woodburning stove.

This captivating cottage has four wonderful first floor bedrooms, with the master and double rooms both boasting en-suite facilities, along with a further double and a single bedroom; a bathroom with a luxuriously deep freestanding bath completes the layout.

Step out of the living area and into the glorious enclosed garden through the bi-fold doors and take in the evening as you sit at the outdoor table after a day of sight-seeing.

With the nearest pubs and shops being a mile or less away, Warwick has lots to offer in the form of amenities, as well as opportunities for days out at the historic Warwick Castle or walks along the Grand Union Canal, which runs through the town.

For a taste of history, you should venture over to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace and gravesite of William Shakespeare, where you can visit the house he was born in and catch a performance at the famed Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Under 3 miles away is the town of Royal Leamington Spa, where you can go back in time to the Victorian era and visit the Royal Pump Rooms, now home to the Leamington Spa Art Gallery and Museum.

If the weather is on your side, visit the Jephson Gardens for a family picnic and a look at the tropical plants in the glasshouse.

Further afield, the Cotswolds is less than a 30 minute drive away.

67 Bridge End is a delightful and idyllic cottage to be enjoyed all year round.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £300.
