  • "Sykes Cottages and HomesToGo have terrible customer service, so find another place to book."

The place was not clean, the outside refuge bins were nearly full, the kitchen is run-down with broken cupboards and drawers, and half the cupboards are filled with paint and maintenance supplies. The nearest parking is about a 10-minute walk and cost us £60 for 5 days. I paid for 5 days but found another place about 30 miles away for two days so I paid double. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!

  • "On arrival the cottage was cold and the overall impression was that the place hadn't been cleaned."

The floors particularly had not been vacuumed for some time. Fortunately the heating was efficient and there was a good supply of hot water. The kitchen was in a dilapidated state and any item ( many mismatched, chipped or broken) we needed to use, had to be cleaned first. The wardrobe was full of Christmas decorations and an artificial tree and the other main bedroom cupboard was full of clutter too. The overall impression was one of neglect. The property is well placed for exploring Stratford. The promise of a parking permit was withdrawn just before our holiday which was frustrating, but we did receive recompense.

  • "Due to parking restrictions at the last moment we were unable to park close by."

The owner sent message saying they would give £20 towards parking on nearby car parks, this never materialised.

  • "Situated in Stratford's Old Town just south of the centre and as such is well located for exploring."

The Parking Permit system is satisfactory. The accommodation seems fairly basic but is comfortable and is adequately equipped.

  • "We had an enjoyable stay in Stratford, the cottage is in a good location, quiet with easy parking on street , good size rooms for a couple, plenty of hot water."

Quaint cottage feel. However lots of improvement are needed, Kitchen needs total refurbishment, toilet seat very loose, bedroom cupboard doors hinges broken/loose. Outside area needs new fencing and more privacy, weeds removed and area cleaned . Seal around bath replaced. Lots of dust behind bed. Spiral stairs are a feature but difficult for elderly or disabled.

  • "The cottage was in the beautiful Old town and within easy walking distance of the Shakespeare sites."

I was able to get discounted tickets on the day for the play at the Royal Shakespeare theatre. It was such a wonderful experience walking back to the cottage at ten pm after the performance, with the atmospheric river and Tudor buildings.I enjoyed it so much that I went a second time. I am looking forward to coming to stay in the cottage again.
