  • "The property was fantastic, exactly what we were looking for in an autumn break with the kids and dog."

Lovely cottage feel downstairs with the fire and the beams and really felt lovely and cosy and everyone enjoyed having the fire going. The amount of games and books was also brilliant and meant it was games night after dinner every day which kept the kids off the tv. Having a nice sized garden and then the orchard and the fields on the door stop was a real bonus and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Thank you so much for letting us know the things you liked most about the cottage. We're really pleased that you enjoyed your holiday and hope you'll come and stay again sometime! Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage with great character."

The garden was beautiful, we were lucky with the weather and enjoyed multiple bbqs in the garden and played board games in the summer house. The dog loved running in the orchard. Period property so we appreciated it's charm however could we felt it would be nice if the kitchen had a slight declutter so guests could put their belongings/food away (there is a trolley but we have a dog so not ideal, would prefer to put in a cupboard). We had a baby with us and high chair and travel cot provided were both adequate. Great location, very peaceful village setting but easy to travel, we particularly enjoyed Stratford upon Avon.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. We will be having a look to see where we can create some space in the kitchen for guests' food and belongings, as you suggest. Really pleased to hear that you were able to enjoy the garden and summerhouse - there is so much work that goes into the garden and of course it's at it's best in summer! Property Owner

  • "Sadly, not the best cottage we have ever stayed in."

Lovely building and garden, but tired and could do with updating. On arrival, we found rubbish in the downstairs bathroom,l bin, dirty teatowels in the washing machine, rubbish in the log basket and cobwebs everywhere. There was also a leaky tap in the kitchen and limescale on the taps in the bathroom and in the bath. We had to pre wash all the pots and pans we used due to them having a layer of grease on as though they had previously been washed in greasy cold water. I didn't bring this up at the time as they were all issues that needed dealing with immediately, and TBH, I was on holiday and didn't fancy an argument. A real shame, as with a bit of love and attention, this large characterful cottage could be so much better.

We take negative feedback very seriously and will be discussing these issues with our cleaning team. The things you mentioned should not have been overlooked and we are grateful to you for raising them. Thank you also for making us aware of the leaking kitchen tap. Property Owner

  • "This end terraced cottage was pleasant and a good base for our walking weekend."

However overall a little tired/dated like you were stepping back in time when you entered and furniture very pre loved, curtains with the linings hanging down etc. Would benefit from a deep clean. Very comfy beds. Lovely inglenook fire with plenty of wood thank you. Loved the quirkiness of lots of mismatched crockery but a couple of the table chairs seem better days and need replacing/fixing as have wobbly legs that detach.

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback. It's always helpful to have a fresh pair of eyes looking over the cottage. We will replace the curtains you refer to and repair/replace the kitchen chairs. The house has been recently spring cleaned. It is a period cottage and family home so it may not sparkle as much as a modern home might. Property Owner

And we got all of that and more. The property is exactly as described, the bedroom is extremely comfortable (to the point that we took pictures of the matress to try and get the same model for our place), the bathrooms are fully functional and have everything that you need, the kitchen is very well equipped, the mug collection is an attraction in itself, the house smells of woodfire which we adore, the sofas are very comfortable, there was parking just in front of the house, commmunication was extremely effective and easy and the local village is really nice and just perfect for long walks. This time was just two fo us but we thought of coming back with the kids next time. There will be enought space for everyone. We seriously recoment this place.

We instantly felt at home there, such was the cosiness and comforting atmosphere of this beautiful cottage, Everything about it is top quality. It was very evident that this is not just a holiday let but a much-loved family home, with very beautiful furniture, paintings, carpets and bedding. And not only that, it was so well equipped, with even a rolling pin, kitchen scales and an apron hanging on the door and even a spare hot water bottle in the airing cupboard. The garden too is delightful, and it was lovely to be able walk down through the gate and onwards for miles, enjoying beautiful rural countryside. We cannot rate this cottage highly enough, it was a real privilege to stay in such a lovely place, and we enjoyed our stay so very much. Thank you so much. • "This is a lovely cottage for a family holiday."

There is plenty of room for everyone, with comfy sofas and some cute kids' chairs in the lounge. The kitchen is cottagey and cosy, and has everything you would need while self catering, including cooker with an induction hob and a slimline dishwasher, and there is a choice of two places to eat meals. There were nice touches like tulips (my favourite) and a chocolate cake on arrival. The cottage has lots of vintage/antique bits, and we loved the character, particularly the inglenook fireplace- I even learnt how to competently light the fire without assistance. The bedrooms are lovely, with comfortable beds and lovely views. They can get very chilly at night during a cold snap in February, so taking hot water bottles might be an idea. We enjoyed watching the trains go by - they do run fairly regularly day and night, and sound the horn. The dog, a nervous collie, was very relaxed and at home in this cottage and loved the walks from the back garden through the paddock and into the fields. It is worth noting that the garden isn't completely secure due to a gap next to the gate into the paddock, and a gap under the paddock gate, but I believe the fields are more secure, if you have a dog who has a better recall than ours. We really enjoyed the area, and did the canal walk to Copredy village (good walking boots needed this time of year). The Mulberry cafe is lovely, with very friendly staff, the Red Lion is a cosy traditional pub with friendly staff, and we can highly recommend the cafe at the National Herb Centre - very friendly staff, great service and lovely food. We also enjoyed looking round there and getting inspiration. We had lovely street food in Banbury, and enjoyed looking around. Further afield, Lower Slaughter, Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water are great places to visit. All in all, this is a lovely cottage for a countryside getaway, and hoping that we and the dog will be back.Communication was quick helpful responses.

Stunning view and lovely gardens (nice and secure, and the dog loved it!), with great walks nearby. Spent two cosy evenings by the fire playing board games while the dog slept off his long walks. Kitchen really well equipped to cook our 5-course NYE meal too! Left wishing it was our own home and we didn't have to go back to our urban London lives. There isn't a pub in the village, but we walked to Cropedy along the towpath (took us just over an hour) and had a lovely lunch and drink before turning back. Would recommend that walk.
