  • "We had a lovely stay at Blossom Cottage, we miss it already!"

The cottage itself is surprisingly spacious, very clean and everything (eg beds and sofas) are very comfy. All the period features inside are beautiful. Location is really good too, right around the corner from the main high street, we had lots of evening walks, and the cottage itself is in a really quiet little area so best of both worlds! Also lots of bigger walks on The Cotswold Way in gorgeous countryside. Plenty of logs for the logburner which makes it feel really cosy. Highly recommend and we definitely are hoping to come back one day! Thank you for a lovely holiday!

Thank you for taking the time to leave this wonderful feedback. We are so pleased to hear that you had a fantastic holiday and we look forward to welcoming you back again! Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "A beautifully renovated property that combined modern open space in the kitchen with cosy, snug rooms in the original part of the property."

Ideal location, bring only a few minutes walk from the high street, yet very quiet. As you’d expect from an historic cottage, on-street parking outside was not always available, but there was plenty of parking less than a couple of minutes’ walk away.

  • "The cottage was superb."

Everything super comfortable, cottage warm and cosy, log fire excellently stocked! Wonderful welcome pack with biscuits to enjoy and a cleaning pack. I was delighted to find kitchen spray as this seems to be rare in other cottages I’ve stayed in. Kitchen stocked with the basics like salt and pepper, olive oil, milk. So that was very convenient. Everything clean. This cottage is ideally located! Turn to the right and you are a 2 minute walk from centre of chipping Campden, turn to the left and you walk up onto the Cotswolds Way! Very well appointed with attractive interiors. We liked it so much that our grand plans for dinners out each night were changed to dinner in the cottage on 2 of our 3 nights! But the great thing is that it is such a swift walk from bars and restaurants that you can enjoy an aperitif or a pre or post dinner cocktail elsewhere without having to taxi it or one of you dipping out and being the driver. Owner very responsive and amazingly swift, going above and beyond when we asked about something - excellent service. This weekend was a special treat and much needed escape with my mum, and we both really did enjoy a lovely stay.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are delighted to hear you had such a lovely stay at Blossom Cottage and that your special weekend escape with your mum was so special. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Best Wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Many issues with maintenance and cleanliness."

eg the coffee machine didn't work and on investigation had mouldy coffee grounds blocking up the inside. We had a failure of the downstairs electrical sockets due to a fuse being constantly blown when turning on the electric towel rail. The washing machine didn't work until the electrician moved it when it mysteriously burst into life. The maintenance man left the bathroom covered in saw dust after fixing the bathroom door so it could close and finally we had a very different opinion of cleanliness compared to the housekeeping staff - dog hair, dust and cobwebs on the floor and dirty worktops in the kitchen when we moved any of the items on the worktops. On the plus side the location of the cottage was great. It would be a big improvement if the owner actually carried out the maintenance tasks that all the staff know are needed rather than keep renting the cottage out continually.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that everything in the house was not as you hoped. The property is newly refurbished and the electrical appliances are new. Other guests have not experienced any issues with the appliances. The coffee machine was checked during your stay and found to be in full working order with fresh beans inside. The washing machine is and was working fine during your stay. Manuals for operation of all appliances are contained in the house file on the table for future reference. The house was fully checked for cleanliness and found to be in an excellent state as experienced by all guests who have stayed in the house since launch in the Spring. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage with a great location to walk to the restaurants located in the town."

As its a dog friendly cottage I expected a stair gate to stop the dog trying to get upstairs. Most cottages I've stayed in gave a good supply of logs to put on the fire, unfortunately there was very few. Cottage bedding was nice and fresh. Kitchen had everything you need. Enjoyed my stay.

  • "A fabulous weekend visit to celebrate a special birthday."

Everything was exceptional in the cottage. Light and airy, and most importantly clean. Every type of utensil you could possibly need. We had a tapas evening and had no issues finding everything we needed. I brought kitchen towel, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid and you didn’t need to! Lovely quiet location, but just a short walk to the town centre. We finished the weekend with a visit to the Cotswold Wildlife Park, which we loved, well worth a visit. I can highly recommend this cottage, it’s beautiful, Thank you so much!

It's in a great location to explore the Cotswolds and the Wildlife Park is a favourite with me, next time try Blenheim Palace, it's worth going around and if you have pets, they can go around most of the grounds to. Thank you so much for the goodies left in the kitchen too, the biscuits went down a treat after a long drive with the kids. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the board games too :) We holiday a lot and this is by far the nicest house we have stayed in and will definitely be booking again! It really shows how well the owners keep the property maintained, it’s been done to such a high standard which as a guest is most appreciated. The surrounding towns are beautiful so picturesque, we are looking forward to coming back again, thank you for making our stay so lovely, Katie :)

  • "Adjusting the central heating was disappointing particularly as the weather was cold."

It was warmer after we made contact and someone called by and we appreciated the extra logs and bottle of wine. The underfloor heating in the kitchen area never showed the slightest hint of warmth though and the thermostat was displaying the totally wrong time which can't have helped. Getting into the shower in the main bathroom felt impossible as the shower door barely opened and there was no hint about how to change the shower head according to personal preference. Knowing the area well the cottage is in a lovely location and is very thoughtfully furnished but it felt a little as no-one has ever spent a few nights there to test things out. Hooks on the back of the bathroom doors would be a helpful addition. Despite these little blips we loved it and will hope to return.

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at Blossom Cottage. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you for providing feedback. We will arrange for Maintenance to check the thermostat again on the underfloor heating and also look at the shower door. We hope you managed to enjoy some of the local sites the Cotswold has to offer and we would love to welcome you back again in the future. Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner

The property

Blossom Cottage is a beautifully presented early 19th century stone property, ideally located just off the high street in the historic town of Chipping Campden.

The cottage is part of a row of houses that are known locally for their pretty front gardens and is within a few minutes’ walk of the cafés, pubs, bakeries, and shops along the high street. The property retains many original features such as working shutters, period fireplaces and oak beams.

The main living room has a cosy log burner.

The cottage has been recently refurbished and extended to create a light filled kitchen/diner with plenty of dining space for six people.

The kitchen and dining room have underfloor heating and bi-fold doors onto the enclosed sunny patio.

The cottage benefits from a separate utility room containing an additional fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.

A downstairs toilet and basin are located off the utility room.

The upstairs bedrooms have been beautifully designed with a mixture of modern and period pieces. The Cotswold Way runs for 102 miles between Chipping Campden and Bath.

The trail along the Cotswold Way starts in Chipping Campden and runs past Blossom Cottage.

After leaving the cottage, the trail takes you out on to the Cotswolds escarpment with stunning views from Dover’s Hill, where the annual ‘Olimpick’ games are held the first weekend in June.

The walk continues across the fields to Broadway Tower and then down into the village of Broadway with its historic connections with the Arts & Crafts movement.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.
