"This is an authentic and unpretentious farm cottage."
It is quite well furnished and equipped along these lines, but we unluckily hit a particularly cold and snowy period, which rather stretched the heating capacity. There were ample logs and kindling however, and the log burner was very useful. Coal was made available, and this was much appreciated.
The owners, who live next door were very pleasant and attentive. Jess, the border collie, is lovely, and the geese are amusing.
We travelled around quite a bit, and the area and the villages are very pretty. It would certainly look even more beautiful in the summer season, with rolling hills and shire horses in the field alongside the cottage. There are also quite a few National Trust properties close by to visit.
Great Sunday Lunch at the Black Swan in Henley in Arden! But be sure to book in advance.
Family matters caused an early departure, which was a shame.
Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry that the weather conditions tested our heating system, we now have connected two more radiators and I think we have solved the problem, Denise

"The Shires felt like home from home for our family of 4 plus dog."
It had everything we needed for our stay. We were greeted on arrival by Jess (the sheepdog) who made us feel very welcome!
The location and animals are the star attraction. We loved having the shire horses basically in the garden. The house is ideally located for visits to Warwick, Stratford, Drayton Manor Park and there plenty of National Trust properties close by.
The house has everything you need; there are even books and games for younger children like ours to enjoy. The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of room in either for a travel cot.
We would definitely stay again.
Thank you for your lovely feedback and we look forward to seeing you again, hopefully we will have foals out in the fields next year and they are great fun

"We had a lovely stay."
Denise was very welcoming and helpful. The property was everything we wanted and more. We loved looking out and watching the horses in the field and my daughter became best friends with Fan and Jess the owners dogs. The cottage is perfectly located to visit Stratford on Avon, Warwick and Birmingham but there are also lots of lovely villages nearby. I would definitely recommend the Shires and we hope to visit again.
Thank you for your kind words and we look forward to seeing you again, Denise

"A very homely property set in an open elevated landscape at the end of a 300 metre or so tarmac drive."
It is a working farm and the animals are an attraction. The grandchildren were facinated by the shire horses and the presence of sheep in adjolning fields, the sheep dogs and wandering geese. The property is well kept, clean, equipped with a mass of kitchen utensils, homely, comfortable beds and piping hot water. Wifi was excellent, freeview tv, washing machine and dish washer. Danzey is a stressfree 10 minutes by car to Henley In Arden with two well stocked supermarkets and numerous eateries - and a steam train on a Sunday to Stratford! All in all a very pleasant property to stay in, with a very welcoming owner on hand to help if needed. A useful and generous welcome pack completed the stay.

"Highly recommended somewhere we would definitely go back to."
Denise and John were very welcoming as were Jess and Fan the two sheepdogs. The farmhouse was easily to find and in lovely setting over looking fields with shire horses and sheep. Ideal for visiting Birmingham and Stratford, would recommend visiting Hatton Locks cafe and Henley on Arden Ice Cream Parlour. Thank you once again Denise and John for lovely accommodation.

"Difficult to get to even following directions provided, due to road works in Hockley Heath."
Interesting quirky place with unique old features but modern facilities.
Ideal for families due to being on a farm. And great for horse lovers.
Dogs very friendly, owner is very amenable to keep her dogs away should you have a nervous dog.
Thanks to Denise and John for the warm welcome, tea coffee milk wine dog treats all greatly appreciated. Kitchen well stocked. Clean, new bed linen and plenty of towels.
Would just have liked more information on local area and a guest book to put a thank you in to Denise and John for sharing this unique place and say Good Luck in this new venture.
Thank you for your review and I will try and put together a list of local attractions and a guest book

"What a perfect dog holiday retreat."
Easy to get to and yet it feels secluded. Bickerscourt Farm cottage is on top of a hill overlooking a fabulous view towards Tanworth-in-Arden. Denise made us feel very welcome (Denise and John own the property on the farm) I asked about the church spire on the opposite side of the valley - that is Tanworth, she explained, where there is the Bell Inn… In the beautiful afternoon sun we took the footpath down the hill, under the railway and up into the village for a reasonably well earned pint. The walk back seemed much quicker (just over 3 mile round trip) and we enjoyed a glass of Prosecco (part of the welcome pack which also included a box of chocolates) watching the Shires and Shetland pony munch grass as the sun went down. What a great way to unwind!
The bathroom is a good size and very new and well appointed with a decent sized classy looking bath (with exposed feet) and a separate shower cubicle. Downstairs is cosy with a log burner in the living room and a good sized wall mounted TV. In the kitchen there are new cabinets, worktop and a good sized fridge freezer. The Aga under the huge brick range was thankfully turned off, but suspect that could give off a lot of heat on a cold winter evening! The well stocked log burner in the living room we hadn’t expected to use but an extra cold Saturday meant we got the living room toasty and watched a film. A great stay and we would recommend.
Thank you for your feedback, we enjoyed hosting you both and your lovely dogs, thanks Denise
