"Lovely stay, the peace was overwhelming after a busy road trip, and the cake etc was a nice surprise."
Definitely will come again one day, highly recommend, excellent base for a few days.

"A warm welcome (both in person and with cake & milk inside)."
The accommodation was just as described and we did not want for more. It met our needs completely. Our meals at The Red Lion and The Countryman were very good. Highly recommended venues. Split our time between simply relaxing, visiting historic sites nearby and strolling in the lovely countryside. All in all...a 5* experience.

"We only wish we could have stayed longer."
A so peaceful couple of nights in a beautiful Annex.on a clean, large farm. The outdoor paved seating area is sensitively divided from neighbours with added use of the beautiful garden. We enjoyed a great meal,on Saturday evening at The Red Lion at Hellidon, about a mile down the road. Would return tomorrow to stay again in little bit of heaven if we could.

"I recommend Oak Barn, Highfield Farm."
If you want to relax or travel around and have somewhere nice to return to for a good night's rest. The accommodation has been excellently refurbished and has everything you need. The host was most welcoming and we would certainly like to return sometime.

"Oak Barn was just what we wanted."
It was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The whole setting was quiet and ideal as a base for us to visit family nearby. There was no problem for us to bring our dog with us. In fact the whole experience was stress-free and it began with a friendly greeting by the owner. What's not to like? Highly recommended.

"We had a wonderful stay."
Despite it being on a working farm it was very peaceful surrounded by beautiful countryside and the view from the back of Oak Barn was stunning. Despite the 30 degree temperature all week the barn was cool and was great to come back to at the end of each days trips. Lovely touch of a cake and bottle of milk too.

"Perfect for a single person or couple."
Owners were friendly and helpful. Lovely outlook onto farmland from the patio and very peaceful. The sofa and bed were very comfy. The kitchen is compact but very well equipped. The picture on the Sykes website shows a bench on the patio but this was not there. There was a patio table and chairs. I loved my stay and would definitely recommend this property.

"The barn had everything we needed, in a lovely location, ideal if you have a dog as its fenced off so the dog was safe away from the farm animals."
-
"Such a beautiful place and a great find."
Self contained with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Lovely setting away from the hustle and bustle but only 10 minutes drive to local towns. Elaine and her husband were amazing and very welcoming of us and our 2 beagles. Plenty of great walks on the door step or short drives away including; Badby woods and Daventry country park to name a couple. Beautiful view to wake up to each day and local pub Red Lion do such tasty food with local produce and the countryman lovely quaint pub for a couple of beers. Marley farm is nearby and make the best homemade pies and sausages, lovely lady that owns it. You won’t be disappointed staying here with tea and cake as a lovely welcome gift, nice touch.

"I stayed in Oak Barn from the 15th - 29th July due to the sale of my property completing early and needing somewhere to stay for me and my dog."
On arrival I was really impressed with the location and how immaculate the farm is. I was greeted by Elaine at the farm house who then showed me round the barn, which I must was spotless. The welcome pack in the property was very useful to help me find the local pubs/shops and dog walks, however Elaine was kind enough to let me use the fields, as my Beagle loves his walks. The barn is set over-looking the fields and is peaceful in the day, apart from the usual noises you would expect from a working farm, however these were by no means intrusive. Its amazing watching Elaine's husband working the animals and maintaining the properties. At night the lack of light pollution means on a clear night the stars are amazing and great to sit and look at with a cold beer, its such a lovely place to stay. I must add that on the hottest day ever recorded in the UK there was an issue with a burst water main in the village, obviously this was a one off and not Elaine's problem, however within an hour of me noticing the issue Elaine returned with huge 5ltr bottles of water to make sure me and the dog were ok. This I thought was really considerate considering the family had enough issues trying to keep the animals hydrated. I must say Elaine and her family made me feel very welcome during my 2wk stay, always polite, asking how we were, and with smiles on their faces. The farm is great, the room was perfect for my needs and the local pubs and woodland we wonderful places to visit. I would like to thank Elaine, and her family for their hospitality

"Very quiet and restful in the daytime and evening, which is what we needed."
Our visit coincided with very hot weather and all windows needed to be open at night (as well as daytime). Unfortunately every night we were disturbed THROUGHOUT the night by dogs barking loudly - they sounded much larger and fiercer than the sheepdogs we saw working on the farm. On two nights the barking was so frequent that sleep was virtually impossible, including the night before departure, very disappointing as we could not wait to get away and left before 8 a.m. facing a 200 mile journey. The owner offered profuse apologies, but without reassurance the problem would not recur, WE SHALL NOT RETURN, even though we would very much like to.

Many thanks Lee and Nina

"This studio barn conversion was really well designed and easy to live in."
The owners were very friendly and welcoming and there were plenty of walks around the farm. Everything was provided and of good quality. A very relaxing place to stay.

"Most tranquil spot."
Very comfortable bed. Delightful views. Sykes incorrectly listed there was a washing machine which was a major necessity. The charming hostess Elaine explained that she had informed Sykes last year that this was no longer available so we were very disappointed not to have this facility. Perhaps Sykes should correct the property details? Thank you for the lovely welcome pack which was greatly appreciated. We loved the very young ducklings and wish them luck on their release on the pond.

"The lovely owner greeted us on arrival and welcomed us into the cottage."
She showed us where everything was and even left us a small cake as a gift. This is a great cottage, situated in a quiet area, but close enough to explore the countryside.

"Fabulous relaxing stay."
Amazing comfortable large bed. Enjoyed the view and watching the farmer tend to his sheep every morning. Spotless studio apartment. Good facilities. Would have been handy to have washer/dryer in room but external room could have been used so fine. Iron needed in room. Sure Elaine would have accommodated if asked. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt at home there. Would recommend and visit again if in area. Many thanks for a wonderful get away from it all stay.

Lovely little paatio area, nice and secure for dogs, and a large lawn beyond that. Quiet but within a mile or two of two decent pubs and easy access to the M1. Had a lovely stay.
