  • "A lovely place tucked away near the centre of Kenilworth that you would never happen upon."

We enjoyed our stay so much and what a great place to walk the dog from. Owner was a delight to deal with. Thank you very much

  • "This is our third stay at Hock-tide and the positive comments made in the previous two reviews still apply."

We stayed there with our cockapoo dog Bonnie (her third visit too) and the cottage is well presented and clean - I'm fussy about both! Some lovely interior styling and the extra welcome goodies - bread, milk, eggs etc - are a kind and thoughtful gesture. It is in a great location if you are taking a dog, with the lovely Abbey Fields walk just opposite and it is convenient to stroll into town. There are lots of good pubs and restaurants within walking distance too. As we have said before, we'll be back!

So glad you came back to stay at Hock-Tide again! Thanks for your lovely comments which are very much appreciated! We hope you’ll all be back again soon! Ray, Mickie, & Marvel (woof!) Property Owner

  • "We were impressed how fully equipped the kitchen was and everything worked."

Very clean and cosy cottage. We also enjoyed the technology provided i.e. Alexa. We found the bed very comfortable but not the armchairs. The rug under the bed impedes the wardrobe door. The location and history of the cottage very interesting. Loved the Abbey Field park across the road and our little dog loved it too. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the 18th century cottage, a really pleasant stay.

Thank you for leaving us your feedback - much appreciated. We're glad overall you enjoyed your stay! Ray, Mickie, & Marvel (woof) Property Owner

  • "We stayed at hock tide cottage whilst I was attending a course in the local area."

It was super comfortable, very welcoming and clean. The location is quiet, which made for a nice relaxing evening in front of the fire. We will be hoping to book ourselves into Hock Tide Cottage again in April to complete my course.

So glad you enjoyed your stay at Hock-Tide and we believe we’ll be seeing you again very soon! Ray, Mickie, & Marvel (woof!) Property Owner

  • "We stayed at Hock-Tide cottage in October 2022 and this was a return visitwhich says it all!"

. Everything was just as good as before - the cottage was clean, with some nice styling and the owners had left some bread, milk, eggs, biscuits etc which was a lovely gesture. A perfect spot to explore Kenilworth with short walks to the old town and the town centre. Abbey Fields (directly opposite the cottage) is brilliant for dog walking too. For two adults and one dog it is a great place to stay and needless to say we will be back again! Maggie F.

  • "Property was in a lovely location just tucked away in behind a gate, with the Abbey fields opposite and the castle just a short walk away."

The cottage is well cared for and beautifully decorated. The owner sent a text wishing us a good stay which was much appreciated. The cottage was much smaller than I realised from the pictures but as we were out most of the time that wasn't too much of an issue. The heating was very noisy and we struggled to get hot water in the bath but I did message owner and she said she only lived round the corner so could deal with it. It was a great stay visiting my new grandson but it was probably too small for us to look at a repeat visit.

  • "Lovely cottage for castle, abbey old and new town within easy walk."

All you need in cottage. Parking is on road - easy to find some but loading and unloading bit more of a process - I parked by theatre next door to get in then moved car. All good. Owner leaves fabulous treats too. Can't fault it. Little courtyard garden for summer drinks is nice too.

The cottage was really clean - I'm fussy, so thanks to whoever does the cottage cleaning/maintenance - and well presented. (Loved the artwork and stylish colour combinations!). The llittle extras like bread, eggs, milk etc were much appreciated. All in all a lovely place - we used to live in Hampton-in Arden so it was great to re-aquaint ourselves with Kenilworth and surrounding areas. Thanks to the owners for providing a great place to stay.

  • "This cottage is a secluded gem in Kenilworth."

The owners have thought about everything to make your stay enjoyable. The little things like bread, eggs, milk, butter and dog treats were a welcome surprise. Set away from the road, it is peaceful. Parking is not an issue as there is often a space on the road of the property or a 2 minute walk to school road. Being across from a large park was great and we had some lovely walks. Don't be put off by the lack of a sofa as the chairs are super comfy as is the bed. We had a lovely time and we're sad to leave.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Hock-Tide and your visit to Kenilworth! Thank you for your lovely feedback - it is greatly appreciated! Perhaps you’ll be back again some day …. Property Owner
