The property

This semi-detached cottage, built around 400 years ago, rests in the heart of historic Kenilworth overlooking Abbey Fields, in the county of Warwickshire.

Enjoying a hidden position within a courtyard of cottages, Hock-tide Cottage offers a heart-warming escape for couples looking for a romantic bolthole in Warwickshire.

After finding roadside parking, access is from the road through a side door leading to paths to the front of the cottage.

The sitting room offers a real traditional feel with exposed beams, two armchairs and an electric woodburning stove, ideal for those colder months.

The kitchen features a range of appliances, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and washer/dryer, so you are fully equipped to prepare home-cooked meals.

Wash away the day in the bathroom, complete with bath and hand-held shower, before relaxing in the sumptuous double bedroom.

To the exterior of this quaint abode is a delightful patio, complete with a bench and chiminea, perfect for those balmy evenings as you chat away into the night.

When you fancy a night away from the kitchen, Kenilworth is home to a selection of pubs and restaurants, plus some fabulous attractions such as the historic Kenilworth Castle and Elizabethan Gardens, home to over 900 years of medieval history and fascinating stories.

Located amongst the ruins of the Abbey in Abbey Fields, Abbey Museum is well worth a visit with its fascinating interpretation of the monastic buildings and history, with a selection of decorative sculptured stones found many years ago.

Venture to the neighbouring town of Warwick, where you can wander the medieval streets packed with independent shops, pubs and eateries, plus you can also admire the castle, roam the serene parks or explore a fascinating museum.

Nearby rests the National Trust’s Baddesley Clinton, set in the heart of the Forest of Arden, this charming building was once the home of the Ferrers family for over 500 years, now offering a multitude of fascinating and unexpected stories.

Further afield lies the popular towns of Leamington Spa and Stratford-upon-Avon, along with the stunning Cotswolds where you can discover further charming towns and villages.

Or why not visit local attractions such as the Birmingham's iconic German Markets available from the 3rd November to the 23rd December, as well as Christmas in Cathedral Square.
