  • "A really lovely comfortable cottage that I would definitely recommend."

The kitchen has everything you need and more. It was more rural than expected and a car is needed to get to shops and pub. Apart from that an excellent cottage and a great base to explore The Cotswolds which are stunning.

  • "Cottage was in a lovely location for visiting different towns and had lovely walks and pubs near by."

The cottage was listed as detached, it was not, actually a row of terraces the other lets had hot tubs and towards the end of our stay they were in use and was rather noisy. The owner had thought of everything within the kitchen although after few days it was evident that a hoover was needed especially after the muddy walks. Towels were provided but I’m glad we brought our own as using the same towel for 6 days would have not been great. The property its self needs a good lick of paint as you could see small touch ups everywhere. The owner had left a bottle of Prosecco and dog treats which was a lovely touch. We would definitely recommend this for weekend visits.

  • "The property was a lovely Cotswold cottage."

It was a good base in a very quiet location, approximately 30 minute drive from all the main tourist spots such as Oxford, Burford and Cotswold Wildlife Park. The owner left a nice welcome gift of Prosecco, milk and crisps. The cottage was clean but some areas could have done with a better dusting. A few areas such as having a bigger bin, a pair of scissors and a cutlery dryer would have enhanced the property. Also, no information on where to put rubbish at end of stay. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Garden was fully enclosed for our dog and very pretty. The cottage was very well equipped I took some utensils because in previous places it has been lacking but I didn’t need to use them as the owner Sue has thought of everything, we received excellent instructions regarding key entry for our arrival and didn’t need to contact Sue during our stay as everything was spot on. Would highly recommend and there is an Aldi , Sainsbury’s and Co-op a short drive away in Chipping Norton.

Dogs are well catered for and garden is totally enclosed . There is a real feeling of peace and quiet, without being too remote! Enjoyed watching the red kites and waking up to birdsong. This is our second visit so that speaks for itself. Very well equipped and plenty of space for the 2 of us and our 2 dogs. The enclosed garden was safe too. The new Air Source Heat Pump is very efficient providing plenty of hot water and the central heating was very warm. We were lucky enough to have some warm sunny days so visited Blenhiem Palace & Broadway to do the walk up to Broadway Tower both good days out. Unfortunately we had to truncate our stay due to our cat dislocating her hip back home (long story) but we enjoyed the few days we had. We have family in the area so no doubt we will be back again. The enclosed garden was great for the dog - very secure. When we arrived it looked as though the downstairs floor had not been cleaned (hoovered or mopped). The downstairs toilet also looked as though it hadn't been cleaned either. The cottage was very comfortable and couldn't find fault with anything else, it's just a shame about the downstairs cleanliness.

I'm sorry you felt like this. I can assure you the floor is hoovered every change over. It isn't easy to clean the stone floor but it does get cleaned. I don't understand the toilet being dirty as I clean the cottage myself. Property Owner

The bedroom had nice quality furniture and a comfortable bed. The Wi-Fi signal was good. The bathroom had a good shower. The row of 3 barn conversations are situated in a quiet area off the road with parking. We did find the road could get quite busy for a B road and as it’s long and straight vehicles moved at speed especially during morning rush hour then again from school run time. This didn’t disturb us but it did mean it wasn’t safe to walk our 2 dogs along this road. Great location for touring around the pretty villages of the Cotswolds also conveniently placed for Blenheim Palace. Chipping Norton just up the road for shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you for the welcome pack including the dog treats which our dogs wolfed down. We also found the book of walks in the drawer helpful. The garden was very useful for the dogs. A complete and practical cottage, good place to start nice trips in the region. About Rose Cottage (and some reviews): - the boiler can be switched off during the night (You’ll find on/off switch in the toilet). - the bed size in the main sleeping room is ‘standard’. Like in many other UK houses and hotels. As I’m 6 feet 7”(200cm) my feet are used hanging out of the bed. Naturally it will be appreciated that beds expand to 210 or 220 cm. But this will take time. In Holland I notice improvements. In the cottage shower and mirror are on good level (also often mounted quite low for large persons). - any comments, positive and/or negative can be written down in the guest book (please not only via review), and Sue also was nearby or on-line for questions. Sue knows about the issues mentioned above.

We arrived to a generous welcome pack, wine, chocolates, cake, dog treats, plus coffee tea & milk so we could have a cuppa on arrival, as our Sainsbury's delivery would not be arriving until a bit later. Lovely flowers on the table also. Although surrounded by lovely countryside it is well placed for a quick drive down to Chipping Norton, the Aldi there is very handy. Great Tew is just down the road but we would not have walked there as all on the lane and cars did seem to drive quite fast along there. Also you can get to Broadway Tower (a must), and all the North Cotswold towns easily. Whichford Pottery is nearby. As regards cottage, it's very nicely fitted out, comfortable furnishings, very good appliances. The twin bedroom would benefit from some hooks to hang clothes on, had to use door frames and handles. • "Enjoyed our stay at rose cottage so much we will definitely try and return in the summer so we may have a better chance of the weather being on our side."

The cottage is beautiful everything you need is provided. Only needed to bring groceries. Gorgeous little welcome pack with something for everyone even the dog was there on our arrival. Easy check in and out. Quite easy to find. Lovely area and surrounding villages. We went to visit family but wish we were staying longer so we could do more exploring. The only down side for me was on one morning we were woken up early by builders on the building site and the boiler was really loud even when the thermostat was not on. The builders were only there once so it wasn't an issue after that. I would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to visit the Cotswolds and we will try to return if the owners will have us xx

  • "Rose Cottage was all that we expected and more."

The welcome pack on arrival was unexpected but a lovely touch. We had chocolates, cake, wine, flowers and also a pack of dog treats so our dog was not left out. Amazed at all the items included such as tea, coffee, sugar, milk, washing powder and dishwasher tablets. These extras made everything great and we hope to be able to book the cottage again.

  • "A welcoming touch to have a bottle of wine and goodies waiting for us on arrival."

Would be great to have some more staples like cooking oil (we bought some and left it there). This is a general comment for most cottages. Well equipped kitchen. Overall, a lovely cottage, clean and comfortable and would recommend.

  • "Rose Cottage was a delightful place to stay, although slightly challenging to find as we were approaching it from the opposite direction to those given in the details!"

The cottage was well-equipped and comfortable and we received a warm welcome. Food in the local pub was too fancy for my taste but we found a great place in Enstone, about 4 miles away, called The Artyard Cafe, where the food was simpler but excellent and good value. We were within easy reach of Blenheim Palace, where there was a very good Christmas Craft Fair that we thoroughly enjoyed despite some miserable weather! Would recommend Rose Cottage, either for a weekend break like ours or for a longer stay.

  • "The only recommendations we had for the owner was, curtains to the back double bedroom window and a mirror would have been useful in the same bedroom."

Great base for visiting the local surroundings and some great books provided for some local walks.
