"This is a lovely cottage and the criticisms I have are quite minor but would make a difference."
The most notable thing really was the curtains in the middle double room , the housekeeper had left a note saying she couldn't reach to hook the curtains back up, but unfortunately it wasn't the hook ups, but the tape on the curtains was completely worn and ripped so couldn't be hooked up. The blind also in the upper room is broken and can't be shut , so that means that room couldn't be used really . (This had also been noted by the house keeper) .My hubby managed to secure them so that the light could be kept out as best as possible, one of the pulls on the drawers is also broken, and the handle comes off in your hand! Again a minor thing but of note. A full length mirror would be a bonus maybe on the back of a door and as a self catering cottage a griddle pan would be magic. Apart from these small issues the cottage is lovely, well positioned and we had a fab stay . Will definitely come back Pub is very friendly too !

"Absolutely beautiful cottage and village!"
The children's bedroom was wonderful with a great addition of books and toys. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom is a good size. The walls in the kitchen / dining room could do with a paint, a lot of marks on the walls and damp by the back door. The garden was big and the kids enjoyed the swings but its a shame that the garden isn't attached and no gate so we couldn't let the dog out on his own. The curtain in the double room needs some attention, some of the hooks are missing so it doesn't hang properly. Don't let these comments put you off, it's well worth a visit!
Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at Willow Vale. It sounds like you and your family had a wonderful time at the cottage and thank you for letting us know these little things, we will pass this onto our Managed Services for review. We would love to welcome you back again in the future. Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner

"Lovely cottage in a perfectly picturesque village - so pretty that we kept seeing tourists driving up to take photos of the church, green, and our cottage."
Property was clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure in the shower. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was modern and had most things that we needed. The property felt quite cold initially (even at the end of April) and the electric central heating took about 24 hours to warm up the property - and bring slippers for the cold stone floor. So definitely put the wood burning stove on if you want the property to get cosy quickly. I think the bedroom on the first floor only has a double bed rather than a king size (as is listed in the description). Property does technically sleep six people, but the lounge is quite narrow and not large, so I think we would have struggled with a party of six. But overall we had a lovely time.
Thank you for your constructive comments and suggestions. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Best wishes Character Cottages Property Owner

"Great location and comfortable cottage."
Would suit family with kids, perhaps not toddlers as garden is not in view of the cottage and is up some steep steps. A couple of minor issues we found: Coat rail in hall is loose and falls off the wall. Needs properly fixing to the wall. Fixtures seem to be upside down. No Mop - there is a bucket and holder, but no actual mopping cloth/head. And no cleaning liquids, disinfectants etc. With dogs and kids it would be nice to be able to ensure stone floor is clean. No door mats. External lights, front now working (just needed bulb changing, which we did) but back light is not working. So it’s hard to navigate steps and paths in the dark. Particular issue in winter with dark evenings. Would be good to have a cafetière to be able to make coffee. Otherwise all good and great location.
Thank you for providing this thorough feedback which is much appreciated. We're glad that you found the cottage comfortable and loved the location. Thank you also for highlighting some issues which we have passed on to our maintenance team. We hope these didn't impact your stay and that we will be able to welcome you again. Best wishes Character Cottages Property Owner

"Amazing! Such a beautiful home in a picturesque setting."
The property had all the equipment, appliances and comforts of a fully functioning home. It is walking distance to the local friendly pub and many walking tracks. Short drive to the shops in Broadway. We all had such a lovely stay and would love to return.

"E had a lovely weekend at this cosy cottage."
It's a perfect size for a small to medium family. The wood stove is excellent, the kitchen is well-equipped and there is a garden up the top for kids to play and the parents to have a nice drink in the late afternoon. The owners must use it for their own family as there are lots of toys and books for the kids, local info and walking maps for the adults, and the cottage has a nice lived-in feel. The location is perfect, close to Broadway, Bourton and Stow but off the tourist trail. Snowshill village is just gorgeous - very small and not too busy, just a few instagrammers outside the church. There are fantastic walks around, a really nice and interesting National Trust, Broadway tower just up the road, and the relaxed pub has a great beer garden with a playground for the kids.

"Such a comfortable and pretty house in a beautiful location."
The beds and bedding were so comfortable. The house equipped with everything you could need, along with children’s books and a selection of games. Behind the house lies an elevated garden, perfect for star gazing or an early evening drink! The village of snowshill is so picturesque with a church and a local pub. Can’t wait to book again, next time in the winter!

"Cosy cottage with real log burner, beautiful location and comfortable furnishings"
-
"We had a lovely two weeks stay in the cottage."
There is so much to do within an hours drive we didn’t get to do it all and the cottage was very well set up for children including high chairs, travel cot, plastic ware and of great relief with a baby, two stair gates! A quaint little village with tourists wandering around on foot rather than lots of traffic and buses which made it much quieter than neighbouring Broadway.

When the night draws to a close, tuck the little ones up in the bunk beds, and head to either the bright and spacious king-size bedroom located on the same floor, where you can wake up to views overlooking the church, or up a further flight of stairs into the master bedroom in the eaves, which also boasts views overlooking the church, has sloping ceilings, exposed beams and is home to a king-size bed.

About the location
SNOWSHILL
Broadway 3 miles; Moreton in Marsh 7 miles; Stow on the Wold 9 miles.
Snowshill village sits on the top of the escarpment above the villages of Broadway, Buckland, and Laverton. It is a secluded village where ancient pretty cottages and a 19th century church cluster around a small green. As its name implies - if there is any snow about then you will find it here first.
Snowshill is renowned for its manor house, now administered by the National Trust. The Manor was owned by Winchcombe Abbey as early as 821, until the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1539. It was at one point part of Katherine Parr's marriage dowry, although she probably never visited. The house passed through many different hands and the way it has been added on to at different points in its history reflects this. The northern end of the house is the oldest surviving part, dating from around 1500, still medieval in its design. It was extended and reshaped in around 1600 but it was the additions by the Sambach family in the early part of the eighteenth century that from one viewpoint radically altered the aspect of the manor from an Elizabethan to a Georgian house.
The village is also home to a wonderfully unspoiled fifteenth century inn - The Snowshill Arms.
If you're feeling energetic, and are in the village over the summer months, then wander 3/4 mile up through the village and visit the famous lavender fields.
The fame of the village has increased in recent years with many tv and films using it as a beautiful location - the most notable of which is probably the filming of Bridget Jones' Diary.
