• "A nice clean property, had all we needed to make our stay very comfortable, lovely views from outside, ,nice clean hot tub for looking at the stars, ideal for visiting National Trust properties in the surrounding area, everything within a 1 hr drive or shorter, and of course for visiting the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford."

• "My husband and I were visiting family in the area and Deer View was a convenient location."

  Richard and Susan were very welcoming on our arrival and easily contactable by phone during our stay, if required. The property was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped, with lovely touches throughout and plenty of storage. The open plan nature of the property and the fact that it was all on one level were ideal. My husband has dementia and likes to know where I am at all times as well has having some mobility issues. There are 2 small steps from the parking area up to the property but the handrail made them easy to manage. The hot tub was a lovely way to relax after playing with the grandchildren, and seeing the deer in the morning whilst having breakfast was a treat. We hope to return soon.

  Homemade complimentary fruitcake (delicious) & milk, teabags/coffee waiting for us. Beautiful property, immaculately clean, attention to detail outstanding. Quiet & stunning location, lots to do & see nearby, details of which are provided. Hot tub outside (can be covered if need be) which was really relaxing while watching red kites fly overhead! Great communication with the owners, privacy given but they were available if needed. Honestly cannot recommend this place enough. The only disappointment was having to leave!

• "An excellent property beautifully furnished and maintained, in a very quiet and peaceful location but well placed for Blenheim Palace and Oxford and the east Cotswolds."

  Our hosts were perfect, discreet but available, and had clearly lavished much care on the decor of the rooms. The two person hot tub was lovely and the awning and screens gave us the privacy we desired. All in all a great find and we would not hesitate to recommend it.

• "Just returned from a 3 nights stay with the Hubby at Deer View!"

  It’s a lovely, well kept property. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable . Susan and Richard welcomed us personally the night we arrived and ensured our stay was comfortable. They are very intentional on taking care of the property and visitors. We had a tasty fruit cake made for us, a folder with places you can visit around, picnic mat/chairs etc. The hot tub was a huge plus…we stayed in it all 3 nights. We will be booking their bigger property with the kids during the summer..:can’t wait!

• "Susan and Richard could not have made us any more welcome, nothing was too much trouble."

  We were very well catered for, all the basics were ready for us including an absolutely delicious fruitcake which we took out with us each day as our lunch. The property itself was very well maintained, it was clean, tidy and and ideal little bolt hole when you just wanted to escape. The local amenities like the pub were only a short drive away and looking at the area in summer there would be some lovely walks to enjoy. Sitting in the hot tub at 10pm with no lights on just to see the stars was divine It was a lovely stay and I'd really recommend going there.

  The property was immaculate and very well maintained. The owners were very friendly and could not do enough for us. We were given a cake on arrival which was very tasty. The hot tub was well maintained and checked daily. We had everything that we needed and was exactly as we had been promised. The grounds were very well maintained and in excellent condition. • "We ended up staying in the owner’s other property ‘Tree Tops’ above ‘Deer View’."

  I would definitely recommend staying at one of these properties. The hosts were really accommodating and attentive. The cleanliness was immaculate, the bed was one of the comfiest I’ve used, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was really peaceful as the property is on its own with no surrounding houses other than the owners. I liked the small touches, such as the homemade fruitcake and they went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The lodge had games, a manual with places to visit, instructions for the appliances and we were lucky enough to spot some baby deer in the garden, which we could see up close with the binoculars provided. Thank you again for a really nice stay!

• "A wonderful break spent at Deer View set in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside in a very peaceful setting perfect to unwind."

  Our experiences totally matched all the great reviews. The accommodation was immaculately clean, very spacious, fully equipped and tastefully decorated to a very high standard. It was lovely to return after days out to the peaceful environment enjoying a pot of tea and Susan’s delicious homemade fruitcake. In the evenings we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. From the moment we arrived we felt very welcomed by Susan and Richard. Inside the property was a useful guide for use of the appliances and also a comprehensive folder of places to visit in the area. We would love to return in the future and would highly recommend this accommodation.

  Everything was better than we expected. We especially enjoyed using the hot tub which was a real asset with the weather being so hot last week, it was very relaxing after a day of walking and helped soothe our aching muscles. The "welcome cake" was delicious as were the home grown "birthday strawberries". A very comprehensively stocked kitchen with everything you need and plenty of crockery! Loved the location and so close to a railway station, only 8 mins by train to Oxford. Plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. We will definitely be back.

• "Wow!! What can we say"

  ? My wife and I really needed a quiet break for a couple of days after a very bumpy 3 months. Deer View provided the perfect place for us to spend some `us` time and chill out. Susan was the perfect host to us and on arrival showed us round. She was meticulous in her planning and management of her holiday let, right down to a big binder full of lots of places to go and things to do, her gift of her simply awesome fruit cake, to her cleaning regime, with the place truly spotless. All of the furnishings and utensils are brand new and are of quality, and not cheap rubbish as some do, showing respect for her guests. This part of England we are not too familiar with, is just beautiful and so quiet and peaceful, so ticked all of the boxes Our 3 nights and 2 days seemed to pass too quickly, but we would love to return..   Everything as listed, and more! Round the clock support as Richard and Susan go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed, the Muesli biscuits were a lovely touch! Plenty to do around the area, or just stay in for a relaxing time with the hot tub and gorgeous view out over the garden. Would love to come back again someday for another getaway from our working lives, I’d highly recommend giving this holiday let a try 10/10!

  Exceptionally clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped, you wanted for nothing. Idyllic for a quiet relaxing holiday, watching the pheasants whilst reading the papers, seeing the deer at dusk was also a delight. Local supermarket about 5 minutes drive. Richard & Susan (the owners) are a lovely couple who are there if you need them. Perfect location for trips out ie. Blenheim Palace, even the train to Windsor & Eton

• "Just wonderful!"

  From the moment we arrived to be welcomed and shown around by Richard and Susan, to the moment we said goodbye, we had a thoroughly lovely time at Deer View. The property is set in beautiful surroundings with wildlife on the doorstep, yet still within easy reach of Oxford, Witney, shops/pubs and Cotswold attractions, and it offers every facility and comfort you could want. The hot tub and fruit cake are a brilliant bonus! The owners are always on hand to help or advise and Susan even provides a list of food/cleaning items provided in the kitchen, so you don't have to bring your own. Certainly one of the best Sykes experiences we have had - would love to return. Thank you!

• "Susan and Richard have created a gem in the quiet countryside at Deer View."

  Four nights was not long enough and we hope to return to relax in the comfort of the apartment and the peace of the setting. Nothing was too much trouble for them, their welcome was warm and their help was always available. Suggestions where we could visit were provided and the welcome information listed all you need to know and where to go. It is, quite simply, the best. Thank you for all you have done for us.   The cottage was spotless, neat and had the most comfortable bed and cozy bedding. There were more than enough facilities for all our needs. We made use of the hot tub where we could view the lovely garden and watch the Red Kites overhead. The highlight had to be the delicious fruit cake that was baked for our arrival. Thank you for making our few days away so special.

  Hosts Richard and Susan were fantastic. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space for the week. Really enjoyed the hot tub.
