  Mill Race is just right. Being tucked away beside the river is so tranquil. Plenty of storage and all the kitchen tools you could ever want. Loved the fresh flowers.We will definitely be back. We stayed for three weeks and felt right at home. Thanks you two, see you next year.

• "Excellent cottage, very comfortable and good location."

  The only thing we needed and couldn't find was a pair of kitchen scissors. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Owners very friendly and Mandy recommended a great place for a walk with our dog including a stop off for coffee and cake mid way.

• "Just set back off the road so lovely and quiet at night."

  Easy walking into town to great pubs and shops. Easy to drive to other cotswold villages which is well worth while. Parking on the road easy to do as only loading/unloading at the property. Would definitely stay again when in the uk.

• "We found Mill Race to be an excellent holiday cottage for us and our dog."

  The booking process was good, with a few timely reminders and clear directions about finding the property and key safe. The owners were welcoming and helpful but not intrusive. We appreciated the welcoming treats for us and our dog. We loved Burford and surrounding countryside. The local information and small guide books were helpful. We had 2 excellent meals at the Royal Oak.

• "Nice compact appartment , perfect location for Burford high st but quiet ,wonderful walks from the door, compact but adequate for two and a dog , very comfy bed ,shower room adequate , plenty of hot water but unfortunately the Central heating wasn`t working which made the bathroom fresh !"

• "I read previous reviews and there was some mention of noise from upstairs but I can honestly say that this did no impact on our stay at all."

  The hosts were very good and very approachable and were we to come to this area again we would choose to stay here. The setting is beautiful, very calm and serene yet only a fe minutes walk from the town. Lovely location and lovely place. Very dog friendly which is important for us.

• "I was contacted to say we could arrive earlier than 6pm which was a good start to our holiday."

  Accurate directions and where we could park also given. Very impressed with the property, location and cleanliness. We met one of the owner's when taking our dog for a walk ! Barry introduced himself the following morning with a warm welcome . Flowers, wine and treats for the dog left for us as well as milk, very nice touch. in the property there were good facilities , information on places to visit and pubs and places to eat with personal recommendations. Although we had to cut our visit short due to my ill health, I would like to visit again.

• "A beautiful cottage very clean and well presented."

  Very helpful owners. Super location. Unfortunately the oven was extremely difficult to use. The tv remote control didn’t work. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable and the duvet very noisy and crackly? Also we could hear lots of noise from upstairs . A shame because if these things were fixed it would be amazing. Also if you are with Vodafone there is no reception in the cottage and very limited reception in the village.

• "We really enjoyed our stay, only downside was that there is no gate on the entrance, I unloaded and loaded outside in the parking so never felt the need to drive into the courtyard, and although my dog is really well behaved always had to accompany him when he went outside."

  Only a short walk to two very nice pubs the Oak and the Angel both great beer and food and the town centre. Perfect for the two of us and our small dog. Can't recommend this location enough.

• "A fab location for exploring."

  Barry and Mandy were very friendly and helpful. Small apartment, but it was just the right size for us and it was well equipped. Shared courtyard was OK, it missed having the privacy of our own garden. It didn't spoil the experience though because the other guests were friendly. Very quite and peaceful location. Burford is a beautiful village and is well served by lots of interesting shops and pubs.

• "The accommodation was clean and comfortable, but rather dark, especially the sitting area and the bedroom."

  We had to have lights on all day, even when it was sunny. The mill stream was lacking in water, so no waterfall. There are no views from the accommodation as it just opens onto an enclosed courtyard, and no garden. Parking on Witney Street was not always easy as Burford is a very busy place. The owners were very helpful and provided extras, including milk and wine. We are happy to recommend the apartment, as it's in a good position near the centre of Burford but very peaceful.

• "The location was lovely and set up of the apartment was great."

  The owners very nice people too. We were impressed the double glazing meant we didn’t hear the river, which was quite loud, but what we soon realised is there is no sound proofing between the apartment and the one above. So I am sorry to say that the time spent in the apartment was marred by noise, whether from pets or people. We didn’t complain as what can you do about people just living normally and moving about their home, but it really does come through very loudly and they maybe need to invest in making some sound proofing between floors. We only stayed for 2 days so just got on with it, but had it been longer it would have been more problematic.

• "This was a lovely cottage, first class amenities and kitted out to a high standard."

  A great location just off the main High Street and for visiting the cotswolds. The only downsides were there being no enclosed space outside to keep my dog safe and having to find parking on the street as no parking was allowed on the property although there was sufficient space. These may have been things I overlooked when booking. But all in all we were well catered for and had a lovely time there

• "The location of the cottage was perfect - on a quiet road 5 minutes walk from Burford’s main high street with all the shops and restaurants."

  It is well positioned as a base for walking or cycling and exploring the Cotswolds. We had a couple of great walks one straight from the cottage and the other a 10 minute drive to the start. The cottage was cleverly designed and beautifully clean. It was compact but very comfortable and just right for 2 people. The cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable. On arrival there was milk in the fridge, plenty of tea coffee and sugar, a delicious bowl of fruit on the table as well as a beautiful vase of lilies. Barry the owner was extremely welcoming and helpful. Thank you.

• "The owners were exceptionally welcoming and helpful, and the cottage was, for the most part very comfortable."

  The only slight niggle for me was that the very cleverly taken photos of Mill Race didn't give any indication how restricted the shower cabinet was. As someone of larger size it made showering very difficult and ,had I been aware at the time of booking, we would probably have plumped for a different property

• "Mill Race is fairly newly refurbished, clean and very well equipped & we have been to Burford twice before."

  The only gripe we had was that the soundproofing between the ground floor cottage & the over-sailing parts of the first floor owners house was very poor. We could hear every step, phone conversations & even sounds from their bathroom when the owners (or the people looking after the house) were in upstairs. That aside we had a nice stay & we'll definitely be back to Burford.
