  • "A beautiful property in a fabulous location with a stunning kitchen."

Plenty of easy parking, easy to find & situated with lots of walking & interesting locations to visit nearby. Good quality bedding on comfortable beds. Gorgeous large garden & a considerate cockerel nearby that didn’t crow until 10am, although with the windows & doors closed you couldn’t hear him anyway. Good communication with the owners welcoming you to their property.

  • "We had a fabulous weekend stay with our grown up family to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary."

We really enjoyed the house and grounds and, in particular, the spacious, well equipped kitchen. Our only real criticism is that the linen needs replacing as it is rather worn and there were too few bath towels. We were also disappointed with the late check in time of 5pm and the very early check out of 9am (although we were aware of this when we booked) However, none of this detracted from a very enjoyable stay.

  • "We felt privileged to stay in this lovely home."

It has all the modern facilities combined with the cosiness which we enjoyed. Lovely garden with things of interest for children too. In spite of heavy rain and thunderstorms the lawns never became muddy which was great with Buddy, our dog. Plenty of interest in the surrounding too - lovely walks.

  • "Fantastic relaxing home, beautifully decorated within a peaceful location."

We chose this holiday as we've just sold our house in Cornwall and we are in-between property before moving to Swindon. It gave us a chance to allow the children some adjustment time and we chose perfectly.

  • "A fantastic family house."

There was so much space and our one year old grandson loved crawling everywhere - thank you for providing the cot and booster seat. The weather was bad so we couldn’t enjoy the garden but we loved seeing the rabbits outside. The kitchen was very well equipped - only one bin bag was a slight oversight I think…. We would love to come and stay another time and hope for better weather!

  • "Lovely spacious house and pretty garden."

We were based there while we completed the first 5 days of the Ridgeway so sadly didn’t get to spend much time at the house or explore the village. Very well equipped kitchen and useful folder for guests. A very enjoyable stay!

  • "My wife and I along with our daughter and husband, son and partner, granddaughter and their dog stayed for a week in Innisfallen House in June 2023."

The house is incredibly spacious, tasteful and very well-furnished. The gardens are very large with plenty of places for either a large family or those who like to spend their day in the garden and outside games for children and adults. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked with cooking items, crockery, a dishwasher and a washing machine and we needed for nothing. The living room is spacious and has all the electronic devices, TV, wifi etc that you would expect for those rainy days. A welcome pack greets you to assist you for your first couple of days for tea, coffee and milk etc. The house itself is set in one of the most idyllic and historical villages in the country and there is lots to see in the area with beautiful countryside walks. The village has a lovely pub within walking distance and a very well-stocked village shop and the villagers are very friendly. We visited a pop-up coffee morning in a resident's garden and chatted with the villagers as if we lived there! The owners, Robert and Lorraine, communicated frequently to ensure our stay was nothing less than perfect and we have no hesitation in highly recommending their home to couples and families who want a lovely house in a beautiful and peaceful location and a great getaway!

  • "My aunt & I very much enjoyed staying in this lovely property – one of the best holiday cottages we have had."

We loved peaceful Uffington itself, visiting the museum, village shop, local pub & the White Horse. Also, surrounding attractions such as Buscot Park (a must see for NT members) & Kelmscott Manor & then coming back to rest in the charming lounge & the well appointed kitchen/dining room. A very generously sized shower room each was much appreciated. Thank you, Robert & Lorraine, for letting us stay in your delightful home.

  • "We loved our stay here, the house was so well equipped for whatever we needed."

The garden was incredible with table tennis and a trampoline keeping us well occupied as well as plenty of spots for sunbathing! Would maybe suggest bringing a couple of outdoor chairs as there's only 2 sun loungers and then some metal garden chairs which aren't all that comfortable but otherwise all perfect. Kitchen is really well equipped and endless books in the lounge to go through. There's not a lot to do in the local area without driving but it's a lovely spot to forget about the rest of the world! Thank you for a great stay! PS Gary the dog loved his stay too thank you! The garden was his favourite place :)

  • "Had a wonderful holiday at this beautiful house and garden, there are properties either side so somewhat overlooked."

Not that this was a problem. Plenty of walking around the village with very friendly locals. Most Tuesdays there is a fish and chip van comes to the village hall as a change from the home cooking. Will return for more R&R in the future

  • "It's a nice house in a nice location, with some good facilities, comfortable beds, and quirky decor."

But. It wasn't clean. We had to remove any number of spiders & webs, and we had to clean the kitchen cupboards and drawers before we could use them. And, since we live in a more rural location than this house, we know what to expect in terms of spiders and the like, and it isn't what we found here. Also, there was no welcome pack to speak of, no milk in the fridge, hot water seemed a hit or miss affair, only one TV (despite the pictures on the web site showing two), and a broken ironing board. It says in Syke's literature "On your day of departure, please ensure that you leave the property as you found it, in a clean and tidy condition": we thought we'd leave it cleaner than we found it. Overall, we felt the house wasn't being cared for. And the reason we didn't complain at the time: we didn't receive the welcome email from the owners until the day we were leaving.

  • "We had an amazing time during our stay at Innisfallen House."

The house is amazing with everything you need for a great stay. It is in a great location with a pub and village shop ( which was really resonable price wise) 5-10 minutes away and is a great base to explore the Cotswolds or North Wessex Downs. Our children loved the table tennis and spacious garden ( as did our dog) and the house was clean and comfy all round. Really good communication from Robert and Lorraine keeping us informed and I would highly recommend this accomation to anyone.

  • "Opening the front door to discover such a lovely home was a wonderful start to our holiday."

Really stylish, spacious and very well equipped- everything we could wish for. We particularly loved the garden which we felt was very safe for children and dogs. We also enjoyed the walk round the village and up to the Uffington White Horse. Plenty to do in the area. The late book in and early leaving time was a bit of a shame but I guess it is a very big house to clean.

  • "It was very easy to book with Sykes cottages."

The accommodation was exactly as described and fully met out requirements. The owners made contact via email whilst we were there which was nice . Place was clean well furnished and comfortable. The check in was 5 pm and checkout 9 am , we would have preferred an earlier check in (2 pm )and later check out ( 10 am ) which is the standard times for other places we have stayed at . However this didn’t affect our holiday.
