  • "Difficult to turn out of the entrance towards Oxford (traffic)."

    Better instructions to find the place within the complex plus instructions for the hob, oven and heating would help. Television in the living room is in the wrong place to watch on the couch and a high top table and two stools is not good enough for meals. Bedroom, with a decent size television (best one for serious watching) and bathroom both excellent. Nice garden with a table and chairs accessible from the bedroom and an outside table and chairs plus a bench at the front.

    Thank you for your comments. We can of course look to review the directions to make it easier to find, but it's on a main road and with What3words and Google Maps, it should be easy to find. But you always have us at the end of a phone if you get lost. We will of course look at the hob instructions and make sure are to hand but should be in the kitchen.   • "Passed expectations!"

    Everything looks crisp and clean, good quality and well spaced. TWO smart t.v.'s, washer... lovely touch was the welcome pack of milk, juice, biscuits, crisps, coffee... Note: entrance sign is easily missed and could do with a few more hangers. Bonus: Clarksons pub is barely 2 miles down the main road! Well worth the price and really happy with our stay.

  • "An ideal place to stay for a relaxing break!"

    The property was so peaceful, with its private garden and stable doors to keep us cool. So close to places of interest, we didn't need to travel far from the property. Will definitely be back when we need to unwind.

  • "Great location for visiting Burford, Bourton on the Water, Upper & Lower Slaughter, Stow on the Wold, Clarksons pub, Crocodiles of the World, Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens."

    Carterton close by for supermarkets/amenities. Ample parking with EVC, good range of facilities in the cottage, lovely and clean and well looked after. Coffee machine with pods & some snacks were an added bonus.

  • "On arrival the property was cold."

    I tried to follow instructions to increase the heat by the thermostat with no joy. I rang the helpline, after some discussion, it was arranged for a plumber to come out. He stated the heat source pump was set to holiday, so no heat available. He made an adjustment, but we found that the radiators and towel rail never became more than just "aired". The team had dropped off two oil filled radiators which helped, but if we turned them off while we went out, the place was freezing to come back to, and nowhere to dry towels after a shower. Very disappointing on the whole, a lovely place , nicely decorated and clean and well equipped, but spoilt by the problem with the heating.

We are so sorry about the issue with the boiler when you first arrived. it is only 8 months old so we would not expect these problems - we have raised this with the installers and they are looking into this. Good to hear that the management team helped with the issues very quickly. As it is a heat source pump the radiators do not get as hot as a gas boiler unfortunately - they are designed to provide a more consistent heat for a longer period. Looking at the smart thermostat the temperature was always between 20 & 23 degrees so it was working as expected. Sorry again for the initial issues and hope you enjoyed your stay.   • "The place and location excellent."

    There’s only 2 minor reasons I marked down the comfort score by 1:- This is personal as the next person may prefer it but I found the armchair too low and no height at the back. Second was the heating, very slow to react. Would we go again or recommend it, most definitely.

  • "Fantastic place to stay, the cottage was very clean and comfortable."

    Safe private car park, which is well lit in the dark evenings. Lovely thought to supply coffee, tea, milk, biscuits and orange juice. Nicely situated close to local amenities and nice pubs.

  • "Ideal accommodation for a couples short break."

    Convenient location for visiting many of the Cotswold villages and attractions. Welcome pack very much appreciated Potential improvements, definitely needs a teapot. A microwave would be a good addition. Bed creaked a lot when getting out. Main issue was being given incorrect code for lockbox so could not immediately access the property.

  • "There was a nasty smell in bathroom from drain,luckily I found some drain powder in the cupboard,the coffee machine had no instructions and it needed de scaling,thank heavens for google."

  • "Lovely, cosy place to stay."

  • "Lovely place in the centre of the cotswolds."

    Great for a few nights stay. Really comfy bed and nice kitchen area. Parking could be made slightly more obvious and supplying body wash would be appreciated.

Burford is possibly one of, if not THE most famous of the Cotswolds' locations. With its medieval bridge, old stone houses and attractive Tudor and Georgian frontages, Burford is justifiably one of the most picturesque towns in England. Often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds', the town was originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon ford which later grew to be an important regional crossroads and wealthy wool town. Located mid way between Oxford and Cheltenham (25 mins each away) it is a little haven of history and beauty that many come to fall in love with when they visit.

The 16th century Tolsey building, once the meeting place for medieval merchants, now houses The Tolsey Museum, a delightful local museum illustrating the town's social and industrial past. The church is stunning, a real gem architecturally with many interesting memorials charting some of Burford's great families. There is also the signature, on the baptisimal font, of Antony Sedley, one of the Levellers besieged in the church in 1649 - three of the ringleaders were executed by Oliver Cromwell's men in the churchyard. History awaits!

With little changing over the centuries, Burford is now very popular with visitors, both for its beauty and history but also for its shopping and antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and teashops. It is an ideal base for visiting The Cotswolds area as it is within easy driving distance of popular attractions such as Blenheim Palace, Sudley Castle, Warwick Castle and several National Trust Houses and Gardens.
