The cottage is perfect comfortable, in a great location & has everything you could need. Lyn & Billy welcomed us when we arrived & helped us settle in. We find it a great base to explore the county plus it is right in the middle of Much Wenlock so great for going to the Talbot in the evening which is well worth a visit. • "Wash House Cottage June 14-21 Wash House Cottage in Much Wenlock is a very clean high quality cottage."

There is a very nice entrance way filled with flowers and plants. We were met by the owner who showed us how everything worked which was a nice touch. The stove worked well. Unfortunately there was no freezer compartment in the frig so we couldn’t make ice cubes. The cottage is located on several levels, so it was nice to have two bathrooms. The bed was a large size with a comfortable mattress. The shower was hot. The heating system worked well. There was an outside patio which we enjoyed on sunny days. There was no welcome basket. Be prepared to bring everything - there was no tea or coffee supplied, not even salt and pepper! Only two rolls of toilet paper were supplied for the week. The cottage is centrally located in town. Much Wenlock was a great town for walking and we really enjoyed our week here.

  • "Generally very good, we enjoyed our stay."

Bed very comfortable. Electric heaters were good. Outside covered area useful for wet hiking boots. Our dog loved the small enclosed yard areas. Handy for town/amenities. Easy parking. WiFi great. Good supply of tourist leaflets. Nice area. Lots of nice cafés and pubs in town, plus a lovely ruined priory. Good local walks from the doorstep. Also near Ironbridge. A few cushions in the lounge would help comfort. One standard shower (with adjustable/detachable head) would be better than two rain showers. Noise from adjacent pie shop? almost every morning 3-5am wasn't great, not recommended for light sleepers. Overall, commendable!

Sharing a property site with an owner could be problematic but not here, you have your own charming entry and property is self contained, owner is very welcoming but discreet. The cottage is lovely, renovated to a high standard and very clean. Felt very comfortable with our dog. Located in the centre of Much Wenlock you are close to everything you need and lots of local produce and the friendly locals make it very special -- highly recommended.

  • "We spent a most delightful week at Wash House Cottage."

Being greeted by Lyn on arrival was a joy, we get to meet very few owners normally. The cottage is in a superb location nestled just behind the Main Street of Much Wenlock, so handy for the town, yet so peaceful. The cottage itself is lovely, though the big steps into the kitchen and out of the back door could be challenging for the less mobile. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need, the heating system is easy to handle and efficient. The showers, yes two, are of good size with good water pressure. The beds are comfortable as was the seating in the lounge. We had a wonderful time and with the beautiful weather were able to come home on an afternoon and sit out in the sunshine. We visited Ludlow, Bridgend and Shrewsbury all fairly close by, this cottage is so well placed to explore the area. Ironbridge was fantastic with so much more to explore given enough time. It just means we’ll have to return to finish off our adventure! All in all a perfect cottage in a beautiful market town, I’m so glad I chose this one.

You pass their patio as you walk up path to Wash house. Two big steps down into dining room and then into kitchen. Several big steps up into corridor leading to lounge to the right and downstairs shower room to left. Tight split turn staircase up to bedroom and upstairs shower room. Both these rooms have one velux type window each the rooms do get very hot in warm weather. Did not have potato peeler or clothes pegs despite washing machine and outdoor washing line. being pointed out to us. Private patio with chairs accessed by two big steps from kitchen. Bed was very comfy as super king size. TV in bedroom. Hot water is plentiful and very hot. Fridge is only larder fridge and no freezer so couldn’t have ice cubes etc. Or use freezer blocks for return journey home. It is very convenient for the centre of town. Great walks for dogs nearby. Lots of National Trust properties to visit within reasonable drive. Bridgnorth and Ludlow wonderful places to visit. The owners kindly left a loaf a jar of marmalade and 6 eggs when we arrived. Parking bay at front of owners house was allocated for our stay. Not sure if suitable for people with mobility issues because of steps/ staircase. One well behaved dog allowed. This stone cottage is situated in the town of Much Wenlock, a glorious old market town in the heart of Shropshire countryside.

Tucked away to the back of the owner's property, this hideaway is suited for couples wanting to truly escape from the hustle and bustle, a peaceful destination for two.

Following the plant sheltered walkway to the entrance, you will immediately feel the layers of charm, setting the scene before you even step inside.

Compact yet inspiring, Wash House Cottage commences with a dining room laid out for four people, your little place to settle down for a mornings breakfast or refreshments after a unique adventure.

The cream-coloured kitchen rests beyond, housing everything you need on a day to day basis, with four steps taking you up to the sitting room, with a large TV and WiiFi.

Simplistic yet carrying a traditional feel, this room is ideal for embracing the peace and quiet come evening, perhaps cosying up with a good book.

Afterwards, the twin bedroom is a characterful place to enjoy a restful night's sleep, a lovely set-up under the eaves, with a Velux window and down-lighters above with it's own en-suite shower room.

A small desk and TV are on the way in.

Attuned to the cottage decor, a second shower room is a pleasant addition to the interior.

What better way to start the next morning than with a warm cup of tea out in the patio area?

A lovely spot surrounded by exposed brickwork, and intertwining flowers.

Above the town rises the 15-mile-long Wenlock Edge, showcasing views and excellent walking, cycling, and riding.

Nearby are the wonderful medieval towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Ludlow, the World Heritage Centre of Ironbridge with nine museums and Blists Hill Victorian Village, plus the amazing Wroxeter Roman City.
