  • "What a beautiful property Southbank is!"

So much space and comfort and so many interesting features together with its eclectic decor. The sofas, the beds and bathrooms are truly luxurious and the accommodation is sparkling clean. The 40 minute walk through Victoria Park into the centre of stunning Bath suited us well, but buses run frequently from outside the house. We accessed Bristol and the Cotswolds easily by car, too. We had such a fun and relaxed family break at Southbank. The week flew by so quickly. Melissa has certainly nailed it with her fabulous holiday accommodation!

Thank you. What a heart warming review it's so wonderful to read that Southbank given you such a lovely holiday experience. I'm so glad you captured that and felt such joy in the home that l made for you and others to embrace. All that is left to say is l hope you and your family will return soon. Melissa Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Southbank which has been extensively renovated and imaginatively decorated."

With reference to previous comments about the driveway entrance, the best approach is to turn right into it so that you can line up straight and slowly pull in. The house was spotlessly clean and the location extremely convenient for local shops, the Indian takeaway (very good), a local pub and the bus routes into central Bath. If the kitchen fitments had been able to include a bigger fridge (in one of the tall cupboards) and a dishwasher (5 adults and two small people created a lot of washing up!), that would have been even better. Melissa was quick to respond to a problem we encountered, which was reassuring. Thank you Melissa for bringing this old property back to life.

Thank you for your very helpful review. It's certainly been a labour of love bringing Southbank back to life taking me 17 years but worth it in every way when l read such lovely reviews. Thank you. Property Owner

  • "Fabulous property."

Felt like staying in a boutique hotel. Easy walk into Bath. Great park for the dog 5 mins away. Beware when turning into the drive especially when approaching from the roundabout, it is indeed very tight as described which I found to my bumper’s detriment. Would definitely book again.

Fabulous to read how you felt the opulence of Southbank and how it made you feel. Thanks also for re- highlighting about the gateway to other users, the house dates back to 16thC and the gateway pillars date back to the coach and horses times. (I truly hope your bumper was not too bad off from it). Thanks again for your review. Look forward to welcoming back to Southbank. Property Owner

The Décor was great so many lovely things to look at. The property was tidy and we loved the books, brochures and board games. The location is great close to local shops and pubs and a short bus ride into the centre of Bath. Would recommend to friends and family x

Thank you for your beautiful review especially of the decor. Southbank was restored and furnished by myself. I wanted to give guests an eclectic collection of new Georgian heritage along with a Bee theme really making you feel the atmosphere of Southbank and its history. Photos give a realistic impression of the property, which had been cleaned to a high standard. There are plenty of things to do in and around Bath and also further afield with Longleat about 40 minutes drive and Stonehenge an hour.

Thank you for taking the time to give your positive feedback, it's gratefully appreciated to help others book. We do clean Southbank ourselves to ensure standards and maintenance are kept to a high standard, very nice to read that was appreciated. Would highly recommend the house and it’s easy access location to Bath.

Thank you, we are delighted to hear you had a wonderful stay at Southbank. I agree 30 mins walk into Bath or take the bus every 15 mins from the village or a 7 mins taxi ride makes Southbank easy for the city or go exploring further afield.
