"Dog poo in garden, not enclosed like advertised,no hairdryer,no heating first night as said you didn't tell him we were coming,There dog roamed free and attacked my dog, could not have door open as it kept coming in."
Everything smelt of moth balls, settee to dirty to sit on.left early,I spend a lot of money with your company but will not next year, was very surprised you even allowed this property on your books.
We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, and we were surprised by some of the concerns you’ve raised.
Please know that the owner lives on-site and is always happy to address any issues brought to his attention during a guest’s stay. Regarding the property’s outdoor space, the Barns are located on a farm, which offers extensive areas for dog walking and exploring. However, as noted in the property description, the gardens are not enclosed. It is not in the nature of the owners dog who is 8 years old to attack other dogs, however if there was an issue this should have been raised with the owner at the time as we are surprised to read this.Best wishes, Manor Cottages

"The Long Barn is a wonderful place in a truly beautiful and peaceful location."
The owner is really pleasant and helpful. If you’re looking for pristine matchy-matchy then this is probably not for you. However, if you want peace, beauty and tranquility in a quirky, homely and comfortable environment then this is it. Indoors every corner contains a treasure - from the piano to the full-size pool table and outdoors the mix of nature and history is unmatched anywhere. Highly recommended.
We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay in the Long Barn and appreciated its style and location. We hope we can welcome you back again.

"Absolutely brilliant place to stay as a base to explore the south of the Cotswolds."
Peter met us and our 2 dogs on arrival and was very informative about the place, history and area and we met he's fabulous dog too. The place is huge and has everything you need. The games room was particulary great at night. I can understand the decor isn't to everyone's taste but we loved it and all the quirks, can see all the Cuban influences everywhere.
The barn is on a farm and after seeing other reviews not happy with the surrounding tractors etc, I have to say "what did you expect?". There are vehicles and farm equipment around but it doesn't affect anything and just adds to the authenticity of the area.
There is a bbq / pizza oven area across the road in some woodlands which was nice but we didn't use these facilties.
Only thing to mention for others with dogs is that there is no secure garden area to let your dogs off, this didn't bother us though as we explored all day and only came back in the evening to relax and sleep.
If you were travelling here with dogs with the intention of mostly staying in the barn I'd say maybe it isn't for you (mostly due to no secure garden) as it's quite secluded and although you could walk to the nearest pub it's a few miles away. (Fine with us, we drove to a different pub each night). But as a base to spend the day exploring and then coming back to later on its 10/10, highly recommend :D
Would happily return with our dogs in the future.
Thank you for your feedback with regards to your recent stay at The Long Barn and what a lovely detailed review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and we would love to welcome you and your furry friends back again in the future. Kind regards Manor Cottages.

"A very pleasant stay."
Peter the owner couldn’t be more helpful.
Very secluded and peaceful location. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever experienced in any hotel, airbnb or similar. Cooker took a little getting used to and the living room would have benefited from a wood burner or similar and not relying on the underfloor heating which as a guest you had no control over. The staircase would prove tricky for those with mobility issues, but it’s the only way to access the game’s room and the second en-suite bedroom. The other bedroom is on the ground floor.
Couldn’t work out if the unpainted plaster walls were meant to be left like that, but the barn was clean if not having a not quite finished look about it.
Overall would recommend. Certain area’s did resemble a junk yard behind the second barn with old cars and trailers left abandoned. Overall would recommend for a peaceful stay.
Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We're glad you loved the comfortable beds and the peaceful location. We have included a photo of the stairs on our website, together with a description which we hope does provide sufficient information if any guests have mobility issues. Thank you for highlighting some issues which we have passed on to the owner. This property is located on a working farm and recently a Roman kiln was discovered in one of the fields. The owner is hoping to open a museum with all the artefacts he has already collected and which will soon be on display. We would love to welcome you again. Best wishes Manor Cottages

"When we arrived we were met by Peter, who showed us around and gave us some history about the property and area."
The Long Barn was the perfect venue for our week stay and we would be happy to stay there again. We were a party of four adults and two dogs and it was the perfect place for us all to spend time together. Our days were filled with walks and the evenings with games of pool in the games room.
