  • "Poor instructions to location, no indications to side roads."

Property has concrete floors with no carpets. Bedroom has no wardrobe only two hooks. Cupboard in corridor has pots and pans, not suitable as wardrobe. Duvet cover very creased. Heating poor. TV did not work.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry that you were disappointed. We have spoken to the owner who said you did not contact them during your stay, they would have been happy to help with the TV, which is a SMART TV. The heating was set to 22 degrees during your stay. The cupboard in the corridor does have a hanging rail with hangers which you can use to hang your clothes. The floors are in keeping with the style of the property and are displayed on the photographs online. We hope that you enjoyed exploring the local area. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay at the Big Box Brandeers."

Well equipped and a lovely interior. Enjoyed the peaceful garden and surroundings. Well situated to visit the local towns and countryside. The Roman Dig and Pizza evenings were an added bonus.

Thank you for this lovely review. We're delighted you had such a wonderful stay and found the surroundings to be so peaceful. Definitely a very interesting place to stay! Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "We loved our stay at The Big Box Brandeers."

It's location was ideal as it is very tranquil and quiet whilst also being in easy reach of Cirencester and Malmesbury as well as numerous walks and nature parks. It has been decorated beautifully and feels like a home when you walk in and contains everything that you need. You can enclose the garden to allow your dog to run free. The hosts are wonderful and very accommodating. Fresh eggs that were laid by the hens on site were given to us. If you're lucky to be there when they are hosting their pizza night from their clay pizza oven and beer from a local brewery then we strongly recommend going to it. Overall we had a fantastic time and would happily stay there again.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are so pleased you had a wonderful stay. Freshly laid eggs are just amazing, and the pizza night is great fun! We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Best Wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "We had booked a week, but left after 4 nights as we had 2 days when the Hot water wouldn’t work."

Coming back wet and cold from a cycle ride to no hot water was the final straw. The property is owner-run so Sykes only take bookings and are not liable, the owner by his own admission said it ‘probably needs a service!’. He takes no responsibility for the shortcomings and refused to pay any compensation. The best he offered was “You can walk across in the rain to another outbuilding and shower there!” Definitely not what we paid for. The building is a ‘prefab’ , glass all along the front , no opening windows in the bedroom, lounge or kitchen. Bit of a goldfish bowl as walkers on the road can look in, stuffy at night as only option was to leave door completely open and then the local dog walks in. The outlying property ‘walks’ have a neglected air about them as well as being a Scrapyard of old vans and tractors, broken machinery and glass. The ‘tennis court ‘ needs a good clear up - extension leads to the ‘Box’ running across it. Also the trainline passes 100 yards away, not mentioned in the information. The outside ‘Bar’ is a derelict shed and the ‘Swimming lake’ is a pond! It has potential to be a lot better but needs more investment and maintenance to bring it up to standard.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to our feedback. We are sorry that you felt you had to leave the property early. The issues with the hot water were resolved quickly as soon as the engineer investigated the issue. The long barn opposite your accommodation which was offered as an alternative while you had no hot water would have been a lovely upgrade, sorry you didn't see this as an acceptable alternative. We have taken onboard your further comments and are working with the owner to improve descriptions and information provided, for example, the wooden bar is a replicate of the one used on a film shoot in Moab Utah, and currently used in many uk film shoots. Clearer directions to where the swimming lake is situated not to cause confusion with the pond will be looked at. As always, we do value any feedback. Best Wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "So blessed to find this cottage, so quirky and comfy."

My partner was able to work when needed (great WiFi) and there was plenty to do in close proximity. Our dog loved it too. You can bird watch from comfy chair by fire. The owner Peter was such a great host, we felt so relaxed and laid back here. The week just went by too fast.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are delighted that you and your dog had a relaxing stay. We hope we can welcome you back again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner
