  • "Really pleased with our stay at Well Cottage."

I was a bit concerned about some of the reviews but this little holiday cottage was great value for money for a 4- night stay in the Cotswolds. The cottage was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and had absolutely everything you could need. It is located in a pretty little village in a very quiet cul-de-sac, with parking right outside the door. Well positioned for the places we wanted to visit and I had the best four nights sleep I've had in a very long time in the very comfy bed.

  • "Overall we were very happy with the cottage."

We felt that the threat of having to replace bedding if dog hairs found was out of order and had we known this prior to booking, we wouldn’t have booked. Nice location spoilt by a constant stream of tradesmen vans coming and going and parking overnight outside cottage on road in front of kitchen. Good location to visit area.

Thank you for your feedback, we always value our guests comments, we shall pass these onto the owner. Best Wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "The cottage was just as described."

Perfect size for 2 adults and a dog. Plenty to do and see near the area and lovely walks on the doorstep. Enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

We're delighted you (and your dog!) enjoyed your stay at Well Cottage. We would love to welcome you again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Could be a lovely little cottage with a bit more care."

I note from other reviews that the extractor fan wasn't working - well it still isn't 6 months later. Kitchen tap spurts water from where it connects to the sink on both hot and cold. The property has too many air freshners which we had to turn off for fear of being choked to death. The outdoor space cannot be referred to as a courtyard - it is an extension of the parking area. No welcome pack beyond tea, coffee etc. The milk sachets left for us (in June 2024) had an expiry date of 24 February 2024! We were due to come back here in February 2025 but have now cancelled, despite losing our deposit as it's impossible to discuss any issues with Sykes. The heating system is blow air from above which would not be suitable for sleeping with - another factor in cancelling a winter break here.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We're sorry your stay at Well Cottage was so disappointing and can only apologise if the property did not live up to your expectations. We have passed on all your comments to the owner. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "We checked details regarding the kitchen before arriving as we were staying over Christmas and needed to cook Christmas dinner."

Recent reviews highlighted kitchen issues. The hood extraction fan still didn’t work, setting off the smoke detector constantly, the hob doesn’t function suitably and potential fire hazard. The hob turns off/on when in use. The toilet flushes fine but doesn’t empty the bowl. The property is a good size and standard and would rate it a 5. However, the highlighted issues, some of which were questioned before arriving let the stay down and we decided to leave before the departure date.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We're glad you liked the property but sorry to hear that you encountered issues with some of the kitchen equipment. The owner has confirmed that these issues have now all been resolved. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Quiet and peaceful."

The bed is very comfortable. There were some nice welcoming touches for our dog. The TV is very large! We enjoyed our stay but felt frustrated by a few things which stopped it being five stars. The extract fan above the cooker doesn't work and the induction hob worked erratically. The kettle looked unused and when we tried it, it tripped the fuse each time we did so. We ended up heating water in the microwave or in a pan. There were two wine glasses, one of which was yellow plastic; it shouldn't be difficult to have a couple of matching glasses! Ditto there only being one large bath towel between the two of us - plenty of medium ones. The bathroom and shower were great. The heating was noisy and we had to turn it off overnight in the bedroom which made it very cold. This would only be an issue in winter, we did arrive on a very cold night, it was absolutely fine whilst we were awake and it was quite comfortable then. I did try and contact the owner about the kettle but on checking the morning we left I had had a fat finger moment and sent it to the wrong number! I think if the kitchen issues were sorted the cottage would have been five star

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at Well Cottage. We appreciate all the feedback provided and we have fed your comments back to the Owner, who has now advised that all the issues have been resolved.. We hope you managed to enjoy the local area and the lovely places to visit and we would love to welcome you again in the future. Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner
