• "We had a great time staying here - a lovely spacious home in a great location."

  The beds were very comfortable and everything we used was in good condition. It would have been helpful to have had dishwasher tablets and extra toilet roll available, we had to go and buy these during our stay. Would recommend staying here.

• "We had a lovely stay."

  Unfortunately we couldn’t make full use of the garden due to weather but would be lovely in the summer. The location is great and the pub next door is friendly and welcoming. The only downside was that we had to bring our own Christmas tree and decorations.

• "The Cottage was absolute perfection ."

  Cleanliness was exemplary. All our needs catered for , superb inside and out . Everything you need for a five star stay . We are a family of ten and the space we had was amazing . We had a superb meal in the Saluation Inn next door too . Lovely people . All this gave us a wonderful experience, but more importantly the owners were the most gracious kind hosts . We had some personal difficult news leading up to the booking and the owners were nothing less than kindness itself . We want to thank them so very much . Would recommend this beautiful cottage without a doubt .

• "Beautiful, well kept property."

  Huge spacious rooms with a fantastic kitchen area. On our first night we had a slight issue with one of the bathrooms having a leak but the property owner replied quickly to us and this issue was resolved promptly. The property has a large garden area which our family enjoyed spending time in, this would be the only area we would suggest needed further maintaining. House has so many facilities including washing machine, irons, towels etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our time staying here and would recommend to others!

• "A lovely comfortable property in a great location."

  Only a couple of small issues prevented us from giving this the 5 stars it should deserve: 1. There was an issue with the key box when we arrived so we couldn't get in as the box was jammed. We phoned the emergency contact and this was quickly sorted out but after a long journey this wasn't the best start. 2. The property description said it was a large private drive. It is, but it is shared with another property which I believe should be made clear. The people staying in the other property did not have a dog and would leave the front gates open which caused us a bit of stress as we wouldn't know when they were coming in and out and we had to be extra cautious before letting our dog out. Also, there was no fencing off between the properties so if someone else did have a dog you would need to be careful if you didn't want them to mix with yours. 3. There was a paddock at the back which we were hoping to run our dog around and also play some badminton in. Sadly the area is not maintained and the grass is extremely overgrown. We have a dachshund and they are prone to back issues (if you have a taller dog you'd be fine) and he had to jump to try and move forwards so we gave up before he hurt himself and obviously you couldn't use it for badminton either. 4. I don't know if it was just because of the weather or the fact it is an older property but there must have been at least 50 spiders who had made themselves at home. One of our party is an extreme arachnophobe so we shoo'd out as many as we could but it did feel like a losing battle as more kept appearing during the week. Overall, we loved the property (the facilities in the utility room were perfect for cleaning up the dog after a long wet walk) and its location and the Salutation Inn next door does amazing food

  Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. Just to confirm that the lockbox has been changed so there will be no more issues with it. We have also arranged for the grass to be cut again. As it is summer, it is growing very quickly and it is a large paddock, but the areas where guests can convene are maintained. With regards the drive, it is a private drive for the main house and the Old Stables which I also let out with Manor Cottages. As far as spiders go, the house is cleaned thoroughly before each guest arrives, but I can’t control the spiders in the countryside. The vents are all sealed, but they make their way in via other means and as much as I may try, I can’t stop them. Spiders are a natural part of the countryside even in the Cotswolds! Property Owner

• "Beautiful property."

  Well situated near Castle Combe and accessible to all major roads nearby. Plenty of off street and secure parking. Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms as well as two ample sized living rooms. The kitchen had all the facilities needed and ample crockery and cutlery as well as a lot of storage space. Just a few minor issue that would make this the perfect property and which could be easily rectified: 1. The blind in one of the bedrooms did not function properly but could be easily fixed with the right tools 2. The listing specified 2 x Smart TVs. There was only one provided and this did not have a television box hence we were unable to access terestial television. 3. Only 2 dishwasher tablets were provided. We had to wash dishes every day. These need replenishing if dishes are to be washed properly every day. 4. The key box was old and not functional. Once we had accessed the key we could not close the key box. A more modern one similar to that of the Stables opposite should be provided. 5. The garden area around the property needs maintaining. It was very overgrown, which was a shame because it had the makings of a lovely peaceful area

• "The property is beautiful and we really enjoyed our family christmas stay, but the downstairs of the house was cold, for the size of the rooms the underfloor heating is not enough to warm the rooms especially the main lounge during the winter."

  We couldn’t even tell it was on. We hardly sat in there as it was always cold. It’s such a shame the wood burner is not in use as i feel that would have warmed up the areas lovely. Unfortunately for us it was very windy during our stay and some of the windows were very droughty which also didn’t help in some of the rooms. There was also no tv in the main lounge and felt it was a waste of such a lovely area. It didn’t feel at all cosy. The property is advertised as having two televisions but there is only one in the games room. Not sure why the room is advertised as a games room, it is a second lounge with the tv in it. Unfortunately, the tv is not tuned into terrestrial tv but luckily my son-in - law had netflix. This is also a lovely room and found it to be the warmest room downstairs. Upstairs is lovely, and with the radiators it was nice and warm, but the far bedroom windows were also very droughty. The main bedroom ensuite smelt very musty when we arrived, but it did get better with use. This might need addressing. All in all the place is beautiful and in a lovely location and we loved it. The reason for the 4 stars is that during winter we felt the downstairs needs more heating for the size of the rooms, curtains at some windows for the droughts and maybe a radio or a cd player as the only entertainment is in the far lounge.

• "We had a lovely stay at Paddock Barn."

  The house itself is beautiful, with lots of space for large groups which was great for our family trip. The house is also extremely well equipped with everything you could need for your stay, especially in terms of kitchenware and general house / bathroom supplies which was really appreciated (as well as our welcome selection of fresh eggs and a festive treats!). Paddock Barn has clearly been carefully thought about by the owners and we would love to stay again!

• "The house was beautiful inside and out."

  The kids loved the space to run around in the massive garden. There was plenty of utensils and cooking items in the kitchen. It looked like it was recently refurbished and everything in the property was new. The house was in a great location too. Beds were comfy and having 3 bathrooms was a godsend! Would recommend anyone to stay here, and will think of returning in the future! Thankyou for a lovely stay.
