10 Customer Reviews

  • "It would have been better if there was some wardrobes."

Just some little things like window wiper for cleaning the shower glass, some champagne flutes and a smaller knife for butter. The owners Frank, his son Rob were very helpful. The food in the restaurant was very good, but just Indian cuisine. Would definitely stay again.

  • "Mayfield cottage didn’t disappoint."

It was spotlessly clean and very welcoming. The master bed was so comfy, we certainly recharged our batteries. The enormous TV’s with Netflix and Prime and the USB charging points were great touches. The monsoon shower was also heavenly. Just a couple of suggestions that might improve the accommodation even more would be to have an L shaped sofa (to fully accommodate 4 people), smaller dining table to maximise the kitchen space and mirrors in the bedrooms. Would definitely recommend this accommodation and Pettifers Hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay

Thank you for your lovely feedback , we are so pleased we enjoyed your stay and thank you for your suggestions we shall certainly put these to the property manager. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Best Wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "This little cottage suited us perfectly being a group of three and two dogs."

It was clean and beautifuly furnished and decorated. It had all the kitchen equipment needed and it was great to be provided with some complimentaries i.e. Washing up liquid, dishcloths etc. The enclosed outside area was a wonderful sun trap which we enjoyed. There was a convenient circular dog walk over the road which our dogs loved. We had our own parking space outside the door which was ideal as we had one elderly member in the group. However, I wouldn’t recomend the place for small children as the door opens out directly into the car park and the nearby road can be very busy. The corners of the glass dining table proved to be problematic for us and they would be especially hazzardous for toddlers. I would recomend having proper lounge seating for a fourth person. None of our party would have been able to cope with the beanbag provided! Luckily we were three. All in all, we had a great stay.

Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us at Mayfield Cottage. It is always great to get away with the dogs and for them to have a good time also. We appreciate your comments with regards to your thoughts on not being child friendly and this is something that we shall pass on, all feedback is greatly appreciated. • "This was a lovely property only surpassed by the friendliness of the host."

The hotel is just across from the cottage and we enjoyed a lovely drink n ice cream in their grounds. We also made use of their meal delivery service - having Sunday lunch delivered to your door is a real treat! Most days we went out but, on the rare occasion we stayed in, the cottage was comfortable and welcoming whilst the enclosed courtyard was reassuring for our pooches. We would definitely return and would recommend the cottage. X

Thank you for this lovely feedback. We're so glad you had such a wonderful stay at Mayfield Cottage and found it to be so welcoming and comfortable. We would love to welcome you again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

Lottie was very welcoming and gave some great recommendations. We loved the walk with the dogs opposite as well as Cirencester Park. Dogs enjoyed their stay and discovering different species at the Wildlife Park! Would definitely recommend a stay at Mayfield Cottage.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Mayfield Cottage."

It is very well appointed and has been tastefully refurbished. An allocated parking space is provided right next to the entrance, so is very convenient. There is also a nice outside seating area dedicated to the cottage which is semi-private. The cottage is located very close to the hotel entrance, and it was a great option to have use of the hotel facilities. We were made to feel most welcome by the very hospitable owners and staff, and we enjoyed the food, drink on offer very much. Due to the fine weather at the time of our stay we were able to make use of the outside seating in the very pleasant hotel garden area. We would certainly like to return in the future..

About the location

CRUDWELL

Malmesbury 4.5 miles; Cirencester 8.4 miles; Swindon 19.2 miles.

Dating back to the Iron Age and reputedly the oldest borough in England, the pretty market town of Malmesbury is located on a hilltop in the southern Cotswolds. Malmesbury is steeped in history and offers visitors over 400 listed buildings, a 15th century Market Cross, a ruined 7th century Benedictine abbey, an annual carnival and many independent shops, cafes and traditional pubs. Abbey House Gardens, home to 'The Naked Gardeners' can also be found in Malmesbury (Note: The gardeners are clothed during normal opening hours) and the annual Womad Music Festival is close by at Charlton Park. The area offers many country houses, including Rodmarton Manor and Gardens, and Chavenage House, a fine example of a Cotswold manor unchanged for 400 years. Just a short drive away is The Cotswold Water Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, covering 40 square miles and offering a wide range of activities, including boating, waterskiing, fishing, cycling, golf and horse riding, plus Bath, Cirencester and Tetbury are all within easy reach and well worth a visit.
