  • "Our cottage number was advised to us as number 6 but it was actually meant to be number 16, caused a bit of confusion."

The property had absolutely everything we could possibly need, extremely satisfied with the accommodation. We didn't use dishwasher as I washed up instead, but did use washing machine 3 times as have 3 children, even in August we had a couple of cold days, heating was very easy to use and worked very quickly. It was brilliant to have all the equipment in the kitchen.

Thank you for this lovely review. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and found everything so easy to use. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Had a wonderful week at Kingfishers Cottage."

There were 4 of us staying in the cottage and there was ample space for us all. Cottage was lovely and clean and very well equipped. Loved the heated outdoor swimming pool literally a stone's throw from the cottage. Cotswold Wildlife Farm, about 30 mins drive, definitely worth a visit.

We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and found the cottage spacious and clean. So glad you were able to make us of the on-site pool as well as going out for day trips. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Cooker hood not working so we had cooking smells all over the place."

Bulbs in 2 lamps blown. Frequently run out of hot water for bath/shower. Most of the taps need replacing. We didn't appreciate the fact that when we arrived at the place, there was bits of food and crumbs all over the dining table! The top of the fridge/freezer was filthy as well. More attention to detail needed for cleaning and also we didn't appreciate finding someone's used earplugs under the bed. All this little issues are totally avoidable. However, the cottage was in a lovely location right near a lake (so we could have a cheaky swim) and the host was very helpful. The ouitdoor pool was only 2 mins walk away and again that was lovely. We appreciated the Christmas tree and also grateful for the host leaving wood, kindling and firelighters for the log burner. Despite the little moans above we would come back to this cottage again provided that it was cleaned thorougly prior to our arrival. We got our deposit back promptly.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We do appreciate you bringing to our attention some issues you experienced at the property. I can confirm the Owner has checked the cooker hood and this was working fine, along with the bulbs. With regards to your comments about the hot water, we have checked and again this seems fine, it's like any property, if everyone uses the hot water for a long shower/bath at the same time, it will run out of hot water. The Owner has spoken to the Housekeeper with regards to a couple of areas you have mentioned and they will review the attention to detail in these areas, but apologies if this wasn't up to our usual high standards. We are very pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay over the Christmas period and would love to welcome you all back for another stay in the future Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "Kingfishers Cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay (4 adults and 2 young children)."

Mary, the property owner was very helpful. Space was a little tight upstairs but downstairs was more manageable. We were able to take advantage of the local walks despite the weather and flooding- I expect it is glorious in the summer months. The location of the cottage was great - close to one of the play parks and an outdoor pool and an easy walk to the spa pools, the shop/cafe and the soft play facilities. I think we will be visiting again.

  • "Great space - two spacious doubles and a bunk room, two bathrooms and a downstairs toilet, inside and outside dining spaces for 6-8."

The kitchen had everything we needed for a short stay. The lower mill estate is picturesque and green, we loved the spa with three outdoor pools and an indoor pool, and took part in a private yoga class in the teepee which was great. My only suggestion for the estate (rather than Kingfishers specifically) would be to make the public EV charging spaces for EV car charging only, as throughout the stay non EV cars were parked in the charging spaces and preventing their use. We would definitely visit again. Thanks Mary for your hospitality.

Thank you so much for your feedback. It is fantastic to hear that you enjoyed your time away, and took full advantage of the lower mill estate! It really is something to behold! We appreciate your suggestion for improvement and hope that we can welcome you again one day soon. Best wishes, Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "2nd visit to this property."

Fabulous location, great for accessing all facilities across the estate. Family had a brilliant time on the lake, using art spa, outdoor pool, tennis courts etc Cottage well equipped with everything you could possibly need and close to local amenities. Disappointed by the standard of cleaning from estate team, didn’t affect our stay but could be better. We had great trip, made some brilliant memories, we will be back again in the future. Many thanks

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we are sorry for the wrong gate code information. This has now been corrected. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

The owner was easy to communicate with and very helpful. The house is lovely and in a great spot on the estate. We particularly appreciated the big comfy sofa which is often missing from holiday accommodation!

  • "The lower mill estate is super."

3 pools, 2 playgrounds, a great restaurant and a pizza shack. It’s ideal for families with loads to do. The property is close to loads of amazing things to do from water sports to days out with young kids. Mary, the owner of the cottage was really friendly and helpful prior to our stay. The cottage I would describe as ‘lived in ‘ and comfortable. It’s not polished but a great location, and has all the bits you need in the kitchen. We had a 2 year old with us and prob not the best for that age group. Lots of lovely jugs around which I put in the cupboard for our stay; a cupboard with lots of hanging cups and an open stone fire surround. But fine for slightly older children. A great stay and we’d recommend it to others.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback which is much appreciated. We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay and made the most of all the amenities. We hope to welcome you back again. Property Owner

  • "The booking process was very confusing, we booked under Manor cottages but then it changed to Sykes cottages, we had a log in for manor cottages but not Sykes cottages, it took a few phone calls to sort out just at the time we were due to pay."

Once sorted Sykes cottages were very helpful,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback. We hope you enjoyed your stay at Kingfishers Cottage and apologise for any confusion you experienced during the booking process. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner
