  • "Overall, we made the best of our stay & enjoyed our time there."

Just a few things to note: - when I booked, it said WiFi as one of the facilities available, it didn't say we had to pay extra for it *since then, it seems they have updated the wording. - The place was large & really great value for money, cleanliness could have been a little better (it was mentioned in other reviews about the cobwebs - which is understandable with high ceilings but cobwebs were in reach in the bathroom & around the property) but we also had a dirty ashtray filled with cigarette butts outside (we don't smoke) so wasn't pleasant & left that where it was! - Hot tub in the garden was lovely & clean. Garden is large, I do think the table and chairs in the front should be swapped with the bench, much prefer sitting in the garden than overlooking the car park

  • "The cottage was lovely, the park was spotless and the staff were so happy, friendly and helpful."

We were provided with towels, slippers and dressing gowns which was a delightful surprise and made the hot tub experience even better. Unfortunately, Sykes Cottages do need to take a look at their listing for this cottage. It is only in the (very) small print does it tell you it is on a park - we took this to be like a national park and had no idea it was on a caravan park until we received a pre-visit call from the site. The listing also advised a pub within a mile - again it did not say that the "pub" (club house) was directly outside the front door of this cottage. Due to this misleading advertising from Sykes Cottages we were not looking forward to our holiday, but luckily it did turn out to be lovely and the park was very quiet. This misleading of information is in no way a representation of the park but Sykes Cottages themselves. Luckily for us it all turned out well. I will be very cautious in using Sykes in the future and would advise the park to review Sykes listing and information just for accuracy

  • "Lovely little cottage on a really nice site."

The garden is huge and hot tub perfect. Kitchen is a bit dated and could do with an upgrade, but still works perfectly well. Was advised before going that WiFi was included in price. I emailed to ask. On arrival you have to pay for it when trying to log on. Could do with a clean, windows were filthy and lots of cobwebs all around, nothing a long duster wouldn’t fix. Having said that it was a lovely place to relax and also enjoy the surrounding areas. The deer park at the top was lovely. Staff that I saw were really helpful. I’d suggest the table and chairs out the front was put in the garden and the picnic bench moved out front so there’s somewhere proper to sit outside or eat. I Would go back and stay here though as was what I needed to relax for a few days.

  • "Overall it was a lovely stay, would definitely come back for another three nights again."

The place as a whole was wonderful such a quiet and clean location. Having the deers there to be able to go up to and view was a wonderful addition. The cottage we stayed in was nice just a couple issues me and my partner had 1) the shower height for my partner he had to bend his head to the side or crouch a little 2) unfortunately there was quite a lot of spider webs around some in reachable places however others I understand being there as they are high up and lastly, 3) the heating system- I believe it might of been on at a set time throughout the day however due to the timing of the year we kept getting a little cold inside as the heating wasn’t on and we couldn’t really dry and of our swimming wear. Other than those little issues the hot tub was 10/10 being able to view the stars and the little rabbits that would come in the morning. Thank you for our stay and I would still recommend to come again. :)

  • "No WiFi available unless you paid £15 for 4 days."

Even after paying this there was still no connection. Kitchen needed an update. Kitchen surfaces were coming away from the wall. Good range of cooking utensils. List of takeaways in the welcome pack but with no numbers. A lot of dust on the beams above the bed. Bedroom furniture was dated and some drawers were hard to get open.
