The property had everything that was needed for a short stay and it was exceptionally clean. Guy was an excellent host, available but not intrusive.

  • "This is a lovely property."

It is located in a very quiet spot but within a few minutes walk of the village shop and two pubs. The furnishings and facilities are excellent and I found it a practical and comfortable place for a relaxing stay. The owners (the Hideaway is tucked away behind their home) were very friendly and welcoming but never intrusive. Right now, they are intending to sell and relocate but I hope that new owners keep this property going to the same high standard.

  • "The Hideaway is a fabulous, quiet retreat in the heart of a welcoming little village in the splendid environs of the Cotswolds."

This was our third visit, and our experience was just as good as when we first visited a few years ago. Guy and Nittaya are welcoming hosts, happy to chat, but never intrusive. Naturally, they're available to help if needed, but all amenities and faciliites are provided, so there was no need to ask for help with anything. The Hideaway has its own fenced-off area of the garden, but Guy and Nittaya kindly invited us to look around their larger garden, and to sample the plums from their tree (perfect!). Nittaya also delivered some home-made sweet cakes (apologies, Nittaya, I can't recall their name!) on our final evening -- and absolutely superb they were, too! The Hideaway is a real gem of a find, with Guy and Nittaya the perfect hosts.

  • "Fabulous retreat in the quiet and friendly village of Eckington."

Hosts (Guy and Nattaya) are very welcoming and on hand if needed (but don't intrude at all). Lovely garden, with a newly-created, little fenced area for guests to use (though Guy and Nattaya were kind enough to show us round the main garden and encourage us to use that, too). The cottage was immaculate, and has everything needed for a relaxing, fully-equipped holiday. The listing warned that wi-fi can be patchy; but, with very few occasional and brief blips, we experienced no problems. Trains pass by the end of the garden, but are only noticeable because, otherwise, the only sounds are bird songs! Parking is on local roads -- but we easily found a spot (with Guy's helpful suggestion) just 20 yards or so away, which we had no problem using when we returned each evening from our excursions. This is a fabulous location for days out in the Cotswolds, or simply for hiding away from the world for a chilled, pleasant holiday. Needless to say, we shall be returning. Very highly recommended.
