"Very damp and musty smelling throughout."
Floor tiles very unappealing, black in places where its been wet. Pans in oven were not clean. The place was quite large, but not a cosy feel. It was in walking distance to Great Malvern town and the hills so that was good. I would not stay there again or recommend it.

"The property is very characteristic and quirky."
Plenty of room for us. Small irrigation the toaster not safe so didn’t use. Instruction for kitchen appliances should be in the lovely informative folder in the lounge. It would be lovely to have a visitor’s book to thank the owner in writing. Parking needs to match the owner’s requirements and the instructions for Sykes.

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Garden View!"
The pictures online did not do the size of the place justice. We were surprised at how large the apartment was. Having a full bathroom, as well as a half bath, was wonderful. While we were comfortable, some of the comments from the other posts are accurate. The apartment is on the lowest level of an old house, so it is a bit damp and musty. The family lives upstairs, so it could be loud at times with children yelling and the dog barking. None of these things would stop us from booking the Garden View again, as it is a gorgeous apartment and very close to the center of town. Mehran was also a lovely host! We have been to Malvern many times, and this is the best place we have stayed, with lots of space for a great price. We are looking forward to the next visit.

"I have just spent two lovely weeks at Garden View."
The apartment provided everything to make my stay enjoyable. Garden View is in a superb location, close to shops, theatre and the hills that provide amazing walks. The owner is available and happy to provide assistance if required. I would certainly recommend.

"Hi, Had a great stay and really enjoyed the space and the closeness to everything we wanted to do."
The toaster did not work - was supposed to mention it but forgot! There was a lot of noise from above for a couple of hours every evening and sometimes in the morning. Although this did not effect our stay too much and can imagine some people would be a little annoyed with this if not forewarned. I do think, also, that it is time to put Covid behind us and bring back your welcome pack and remove that reference from your book as this would have been a really nice touch to have been able to make ourselves a cup of coffee or tea on arrival before heading out to stock up.

"A generally good property in the Centre of Great Malvern with great access to the hills and surrounding areas."
A very spacious light filled basement property that is fully equipped and has all the facilities and needs for a comfortable and relaxing week away. The Owners who live upstairs are very friendly and are there if you need anything or have any enquires. This is the second time we have stayed at the property and have had no issues either time and if we are ever in the area again would happily book again.

"Have just returned from a lovely stay in garden view."
It was spacious and well equipped, and quiet. The kitchen especially had everything needed, great for a family or friends. I was comfortable, and slept extremely well. Not far from the hills and supermarkets. An ideal spot. The owner was especially good, to me and I knew that if I needed anything. He would be there to help I recommend this property for your hill walking etc. Easy to park here. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners

"This property is in a good location in central Malvern but anyone booking needs to appreciate the accommodation is very basic , situated under the main house."
I could perhaps ( slightly generously ) describe it as ‘ rustic ‘

"Grim, cold and shabby."
Falls far short of the description. We were very disappointed with the overall standard so much that we could not stay and drove back home the same day. In our opinion you should review your inspection standards.
I am very disappointed with these comments, it is factually incorrect .just look at the review of 26 th March exactly opposite and giving everything a perfect score .Comfort and facilities given a very negative mark how could they if they didn’t even stay for an hour . We had a cleaner there fir over two hours before their arrival. We have all the equipment and furniture needed . I did send them a message before arrival welcoming them I explained that I am available 24 seven and if there is any issue they should contact me I actually live above the flat they did not contact me at all or tried to speak to me. "The owners was very good at checking all was well."
The flat is positioned just right for the town and the hills. A lovely location

"This is a great base for exploring Malvern."
It is in an excellent position-easy to walk to all main attractions such as theatre, park.hills and restaurants.Comfortable and warm accommodation with welcoming hosts.
-
"On the plus side the apartment is spacious and really well located near to local amenities, restaurants, theatre, park, and the famous hills."
However, it needs a deep clean and the apartment is damp, really damp it gets into your clothes, the bed sheets feel damp at night in the mornings there are trickles of water running down parts of the paintwork. All the air fresheners in the world don't help. I understand that covid probably means that there is less money available but this property falls well, well short of what we have experienced in past bookings with Sykes. In fact I would say that if I ever experience another property such as this I would never ever use Sykes again. Your quality control need to be improved.

"This is the worst place I have ever stayed."
Grim, grubby and above all very very damp. So damp the sheets felt damp when getting into bed. The second bedroom is not fit for purpose and the whole flat needed a good clean. There were long black hairs all over the bathroom floor ugh disgusting. Filthy place mats for the table and crumbs and coffee stains on the table when we arrived. Your details describe it as immaculately presented and nothing could be further from the truth. I would go so far as to say it is not fit for habitation.
Firstly she did not once contacted me with any issues she had surely one would inform the owner, if things were as she says I would have, after all I live above the flat. I welcomed them myself showed them to the flat told them to contact me if there was any issues, they never once did. Now as regard to reference to the second bedroom it clearly states that this is a small double with a small double bed, I believe originally she booked for two then decided to bring her sister and changed the booking to 4 which is fine but the description is very accurate small double. I do not accept a single of these comments, hair I can't possibly comment as I don't know but again they should have mentioned it when they arrived and I would have had it cleaned for them. We have a professional firm of cleaners who come and clean the flat. Property Owner

"Hosts responded very quickly to a couple of queries, and were happy to accommodate requests."

"Garden View is a very spacious property and the kitchen was very well equipped."
It was very clean. We had not visited Malvern before and the property was in a great location, with views of the Malvern Hills, a Waitrose within a few minutes walk, and several very good pubs (notably the Nags Head and the Great Malvern Hotel) close by. We were able to go for plenty of walks in the hills without taking the car or following a short drive. The property itself had good off-road parking and the owners, although socially distancing, were very welcoming. We would love to return.
-
"For us, location is a prime reason for picking holiday accommodation, so this property takes some beating."
Waitrose is a 5 minute walk and there are 3 really good pubs also within a 5 minute walk. Add to that that you can be in the hills within 15 minutes from your door. We did 3 long walks from the doorstep without needing to take out the car, which is an important asset for us. The property is also roomy, the kitchen adequately equipped and the shower works well. With the heating on (included in the price) we were never cold. The lounge, which you tend to spend most time in, is a comfortable and sunny aspect. The property does, however, suffer from being a little on the sad side. It could really do with renovating if it were to compete with classier and more expensive properties. There is an issue with damp and condensation and if this is something that would detract from your holiday, then this property is perhaps avoided

"The accommodation was clean and tidy with an old worldly touch."
Local restaurants and pubs. People of Malvern very friendly and accommodating. Home from home.
-
"The accommodation is good and has the limitations about floor coverings mentioned when booking."
Excellent location for malvern Hills, N.T. houses and Elgar.
-
"Pleasant flat within easy reach of all facilities and convenient to town centre."
We would stay there again if looking in the area
-
"It is advertised as having a step into property, it doesn't say there are steep steps from the car parking place to Garden View, it's possible to avoid the steps by walking round the outside of the property which isn't known about initially, making it very difficult on arrival."
Inside the property there are glass topped coffee tables which could be a problem with younger children.
-
"Great base for exploring the Malvern Hills."
Easy short walk into the centre of town, Malvern theatres, Malvern Priory and a supermarket right around the corner. A bit of a steep 15 min climb up from Great Malvern station with luggage but easy going back downhill! It would have been nice to have had a washing machine and clothes line in the spacious garden, rather than a dishwasher which we did not use.
-
"Curious request to open some windows for 1-2 hrs."
Access road was difficult as described. Location in twin good.
-
"The apartment was very nice, the owner came & introduced his self, which was very nice."
We found the sofa a little bit low, both of us suffer from Arthritis & have difficulty standing up. The driveway is very narrow, I wouldn't like to get a bigger round it. I drive a fiat panda a very small car, anything bigger than a ford focus wouldn't fit.
-
"The owner came over to check if we were happy and had everything we need."
This was really kind of him. The flat is spacious, comfortable though it did smell at times of dampness. All the facilities (shops, restaurants, hills for walking, train station and in my case my son's school) are all easy short walk. Over all, a lovely flat in a lovely convenient area.
-
"The location was ideal for walking shopping and sight seeing."
Very comfortable
-
"We received a warm welcome on our arrival."
The flat was spotless with everything we needed for our stay. We soon settled in and made it home for our week away. The location is great, on the edge of town, within easy walking distance from shops, places to eat and the railway station. There are lovely walks and places to visit in the area. We had a lovely holiday.
-
"Great flat in superb location."
Spotlessly clean and stylishly decorated. Malvern Hills a ten minute drive away and Brecon Beacons, Bristol and Bath also close enough for days out. Highly recommended.
-
"This accommodation was booked for two of our workforce working in the area and I was informed that the "Apartment" is in the basement to main house, so did have a rather damp/musty smell every thing else was fine."
-
"We found the flat to be very spacious and well equipped, with comfortable bed."
All appliance instructions were to hand. It was useful having a supermarket close by, and the flat is close to the town centre. The Owners gave us a great welcome. Communication with the Owners prior to our stay was good.

"Great property in a great town in a lovely part of the UK."
Owners were really nice.

"The owner of the Garden View flat was so welcoming and eager to help, it was lovely."
The flat had everything you could wish for and I found it very comfortable and it is a brilliant location to visit the area. I think the only downside concerned my mother, who is 93. This is not a criticism of the flat in any way, but an observation that future visitors might want to take into account. The floors, in places, are worn brick, with rugs. This made her a little hesitant to walk around on her own, but since she often needs my help now anyway, it made no difference to our enjoyment. However, I probably wouldn't book this flat again if she was with me due to this aspect. It was easy to get to the flat along the flat garden path in the front of the property but does have a couple of steps into the front room. Again, this did not concern us as my mother can still manage some steps with help, but it may not be suitable for someone who was coming alone and had mobility problems. Please pass my thanks on to the owner and wish them well with their Sykes cottage venture. As I say, the comment above is not intended in any way as a criticism but just as a consideration if anyone with mobility problems was coming alone.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our break at the Garden Flat."
We were made extremely welcome by the owner who was very friendly and helpful both beforehand and during our stay, nothing was too much trouble. The flat was lovely, very warm, comfortable and spacious, beautifully decorated and well equipped. We felt rested and relaxed after staying there. The location was most convenient, it was within walking distance of the theatre and the park, Malvern Priory and the local shops and restaurants. All in all, an excellent base for a holiday in Malvern.
-
"High quality fixtures, fittings and furniture."
Excellent cleanliness. Central location -walk into town. Warm and friendly welcome from owner.
-
"We were only the fourth persons to book this accommodation ."
Owner was very pleasant and helpful .
-
"Made to feel very welcome, very relaxing and comfortable stay."
-
"We enjoyed our stay at Garden View and right from the first contact with the owner by email he was very keen to do anything he could to make sure we enjoyed our stay - offering to recommend places to go in Malvern and making sure everything was ok once we had arrived."
The accommodation was very spacious and comfortable and the property very convenient for the town - less than a five minute walk. Malvern is lovely and the view across the countryside from the Waitrose car park must out-do that from most other supermarkets in the country!
-
"Beautiful flat in lovely location excellent for discovering the wonderful countryside in and around the Malvern hills."
A very big thank you to the Noor family for the warm welcome and sharing your lovely home. Phil, Sandy and Alex Liverpool.
