  • "Fantastic property."

As soon as we pulled up into the drive we knew we were going to love this property. You felt welcomed and at home as soon as you stepped through the door. As there were only two of us we had the choice of the bedrooms and we chose the super king room which was very comfortable, but the others looked just as good. All the showers and the bath were fabulous (we used them all). The garden was very private and our dog loved exploring it and making friends with the cattle in the adjoing field. Plenty of walks nearby and from the door. We will definitely be back for another stay and would certainly recommend it to others.

Well equipped, well maintained with really useful extras that many places overlook. Comfortable beds and ideal for those who are less mobile as, apart from a small step into the front door it's all flat. The hosts were very accommodating and answered any questions promptly and effectively. The property was as described, and though a little remote, it was situated as expected, and within east reach of many popular and outstanding destinations. A grocery delivery on the night if arrival helped with cutting down on luggage and the lack of immediate shops - although there is one within a 10 minute journey. Be careful on the long windy roads when meeting local traffic and horses! Being regular travellers we are not always easy to please, but this accommodation and area was remarkably pleasant. All in all, absolutely no complaints. One very minor observation would be the gravel driveway and step into the house is a tad difficult for a mobility scooter, but is in no way an insurmountable problem.

We were so sorry to hear that your holiday was not as perfect as we would like and was ruined by dogs, as this is a rural property we do not have control over dog walkers on the country lane which is a public right of way. About the location

CASTLEMORTON

Malvern 6 miles; Ledbury 8 miles; Worcester 14.5 miles; Gloucester 16 miles

The delightful village of Castlemorton is situated at the southern end of the famous Malvern Hills, which lie on the boundary between Herefordshire and Worcestershire and are a paradise for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts. Boasting a lovely 12th Century Church, the village stands nearly equal distance from the historic towns of Malvern (voted into AOL Travel's 2009 'hottest destinations' list), Ledbury and Tewkesbury, which are home to a wealth of black and white houses, olde worlde inns, restaurants, quality shops and are surrounded by beautiful countryside. There are country houses, gardens, castles, museums, railways and wildlife centres situated within easy reach of the village, while the lovely riverside town of Upton-on-Severn is also nearby, with its lovely inns, marina and river boat cruises. Castlemorton Common provides many lovely walk and cycle rides, part of which is a designated SSSI due to its vast array of wildlife, flora and fauna. The beautiful Worcestershire town of Malvern dates back to the Bronze Age and is situated on the eastern side of the dramatic Malvern Hills. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the hills form a nine mile range of ancient rock, which offers 100 miles of footpaths and bridleways with natural springs and long distance views in all directions. The town holds antiques fairs, WI country markets, farmers’ markets and many auctions throughout the year, as well as the Great Malvern Food Festival in June. The Malvern Theatre welcomes productions from the West End and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Fishing and river cruises are available nearby and there are National Trust properties and gardens to visit in the area. Malvern has many individual shops, cafes, art galleries and restaurants, a luxurious spa, and is also home to the Three Counties Showground. Malvern is the home of the Morgan car, which makes this area popular with enthusiasts. The pretty town of Upton upon Severn lies on the banks of the River Severn and boasts a variety of delightful 17th century buildings and attractive shops, including The Pudding Shop, traditional inns and cafes and its very own museum. It also plays host to many annual festivals, including Jazz, Folk and Blues Festivals, as well as the Sunshine Music Festival. This small, thriving town has its own marina, a vineyard and a well-stocked farm shop at the local fruit farm, plus the town’s medieval church, which is now a Heritage Centre, is topped by a striking 18th century cupola, known locally as The Pepperpot. The picturesque Forest of Dean, with its range of attractions, is only 30 miles away, and the cathedral city of Worcester and waterfront city of Gloucester are also close by.

The property will comfortably sleep 8 with two infants in travel cots.
