• "We had a lovely few days at Willow Cottage."

  The first few days were spent enjoying g the lovely, comfortable facilities, being grounded by Storm Bert! It was amazing, and a little concerning, watching the River Severn slowly claim the front garden. Once we’d been reassured by our lovely neighbours that it was ok we simply enjoyed the spectacle!! Once the sun came back we spent a lovely day in Ledbury and another in Upton. The cottage was very well equipped and had everything we needed. One very small suggestion, maybe a small nest of tables in the lounge? We would definately recommend Willow Cottage and appreciated the phone call from the owner, a couple of days before our visit, during which he outlined all the facilities, key collection details etc. Thank you, also, for the milk/tea/coffee/biscuits awaiting g us on our arrival.

  Very comfortable and extremely cosy. There’s lots of places in walking distance to enjoy that serve food and drink and you can self cater really easily too in this cottage. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

  The location is only a few minutes walk from the town but far enough away that the location is wonderfully quiet. The cottage had everything we needed, and was very clean and tidy. There is so much to do in the area that we would happily return, and to recommend it to others

  A very peaceful location. It is a great base for exploring the area within easy driving distance of the Malvern Hills, Worcester, Tewkesbury, Deerhurst and Croome Court (NT). There are also walks along the river both north and south. Upton is about a 10 minute walk away with shops, pubs and restaurants.

  Plenty of room for a family of four, well equipped, clean and under floor heating was a nice surprise. Parking is easy (we have a large car) and there is a nice front garden on the riverbank with garden chairs to sit out in. Really good location for the Malvern Hills, Ledbury, Croome Court etc. and only 5 mins walk to the centre of Upton. Owner very responsive and helpful.

  Very well equipped and beds etc very comfortable. Loved being near to the river to watch the wildlife and boats. Lots to do close by and pubs in the village very friendly and selling some delicious food! Host gave lots of information and was happy to answer any questions.

  We had a dripping tap which I phoned the owner about and he explained the situation. It was very clean apart from main bathroom window inside which could have done with a good clean. The garden in front garden which leads to the river is fab and enjoyed having a cuppa in the sunshine with the ducks for company.

  The main seating area had very tired furniture and had a bare tiled floor so it was not comfortable or pleasurable for us to sit in. Toilet brushes were filthy and dust in the corners.

  The owners have been very thoughtful about what you might need. Parking is straightforward and it is an easy walk to pubs, shops and restaurants. It is peacefully located with the river at the bottom of the garden. Lots of decent walks nearby, some directly from Upton. We aim to return in the Spring.

Stunning place would love to stay again as so much to do and see in the area if you can tear yourself away from the beautiful, relaxing setting .

  Additionally the front garden was lovely to sit in and watch passing boats and the wildlife. Visited four of the town pubs and the food and ale were great. The cottage itself was very comfortable, extremely well equipped and a pleasure to be in. The owners were very helpful when we had a question.

  Very spacious for the two of us, and ideal for 4. We lit the wood burner a couple of evenings, very easy to use and burns well. Lovely position with the front garden ( which is across the lane) having direct access to the river. Garden furniture and a bbq are provided and this is an ideal spot to sit and watch the boats. Great parking and a short walk into Upton town. Had a great meal at the Pundits Fusion restaurant. Spar and Co-op shops in the town. Many National Trust properties within a short drive.

  the cottage itself is lovely - this was the 2nd time we stayed there. it is a great base for the Malverns and the lovely cathedral cities around the area. The location is lovely - it is wonderful to sit in bed with a cup of tea watching the geese in the garden and seeing activity on the river. We made good use of the Rose and Crown pub in Severn Stoke, who helpfully serve food til 8.30 (6pm on Sunday). Phone booking advised and the meals are lovely - only recently been taken over by a new landlord who was very friendly. We would certainly come back to Willow Cottage again if we visit the area in the future.

• "Over the years we have stayed in many Sykes cottages, but this one was the best so far!"

  It was scrupulously clean, very well-equipped and set in a superb location. The appliances were all up to date and the information on use was properly organised in a folder, as was the information on places to visit.The broadband was excellent (some cottages claim to have broadband, but it’s shared with another property or works intermittently) In fact, every feature of the property had been carefully thought out.This, and the fact that it is in a beautiful area, makes us keen to return at some point in the future!

  Unfortunately I had flu while I was there so can vouch for the lovely comfortable beds!! Owner contacted us with all the information required to access the property and gave lots of helpful hints and tips. • "Cottage described as immaculately presented however it was not:- Very dirty outside and windows were filthy."

  A lot of cob webs inside in the corned. Downstairs wet room not practical, floor flooded when you had a shower, I had to buy a mop for use after shower. There was a public footpath in front of cottage which is not on particulars so people constantly walking past. You are only given one bath towel per person to last you a week so I had to buy more towels. I have pictures to show the mess outside if you want to see them.

The cottage itself has excellent brand new kitchen and bathroom facilities, really large washroom. The bedrooms were good size. One of the most enjoyable relaxing holidays the family has had.

We have stayed at Sykes cottages once before, and would definitely recommend staying in them. Well done to Sykes and the owners of the holiday homes. We're going to have a look at Sykes site for our next holiday!

  We would highly recommend this cottage, great value for money. To stay in a local Premier Inn, with just a standard room and bathroom would cost £98 Per night per couple. And no facilities or areas to rest and socialize, total for the week would have been £1400. And no scenery or atmosphere or any connection to the local friendly town and it's warm and friendly locals. Would return in a heartbeat, and that is our intention next year.

  It offers an outstanding riverside location, wonderfully presented with first class levels of equipment and comfort. The fishery is very healthy offering a diverse range of species to be caught. Access is perfect to the river level and is ideal for fishing enthusiasts. Upton itself is a charming little town with many local attractions and events throughout the year.

  The owner has refurbished the cottage to a very high standard and is very helpful providing milk, tea, coffee etc for us on arrival.There is everything you could possibly wish for here to make your holiday home from home. There are beautiful views across the river and also walks nearby. We like to eat out for our main meal when away and there is no shortage of good quality, reasonably priced eateries nearby. My husband's highlight of the holiday was the visit to the Morgan Factory at Malvern Links., well worth a visit.
