  • "Our recent stay at Knockanboy House was exceptional."

The house and grounds are spectacular. Attention to detail was impeccable. The beds and linen like everything else was of the highest quality. The property was very very spacious and accommodated our family very well. The heating system was very good - loved walking on the floor tiles!! Sadly we needed to heat the house more than we hoped as the only thing to complain about was the weather!!!!. Many thanks for the ‘Welcome Pack’ - a lovely touch. Would give this house 20 out of 10 Many thanks to the Owner and staff who keep the place in order If we ever visit that part of Ireland again - Knockanboy House will be our choice of accommodation

  • "Really enjoyed our stay, the property was very spacious and comfortable, with great facilities."

The welcome basket with wine was a lovely surprise. Loved the privacy; no other houses in sight and the main road was also a distance away, so we had perfect peace and quiet! County Antrim was so beautiful and unspoilt and the people were all so friendly we would love to return again.

  • "I wouldn’t recommend this house to others."

The WiFi and sky box were not set up and were not available to be used. I contacted Sykes several times about it during our stay and was given a standard response and no attempt was made to even try to connect WiFi or Sky for us. Disappointing to have the issue in the first place and then a disappointing (non)response.

  • "A super house in a beautiful part of the country."

Close to some amazing walks and great restaurants. Very comfortable with great quality furnishings- it felt more like staying in a friend’s house than a holiday let! We didn’t have any children with us, but thought the family room with children’s games was a great idea. Overall we had a great time in a large, bright, airy and comfortable home. Only some tiny things to mention: - only one hairdryer which seemed a bit odd given the number of rooms - kitchen needed a bit of a clean (unlike the rest of the house) - oven was dirty, open food left in cupboards with spilt flour etc - there is a bbq - we couldn’t spot that in the listing - if possible would be great to have a mirror at the end of the driveway, as it’s very difficult to see when pulling out. Overall a great house which is even lovelier than the photos show.

  • "We were a group of seven friends who like to go away twice a year."

Knockanboy House was perfect, it has a big open plan kitchen dining area with a large island plus a dining table and sofa. We spent most of our time in this lovely social space. There is also a very comfortable living room with open fire and a tv room. Beds are extremely comfortable and dressed in lovely quality bedlinen. Overall the decor is beautiful with high quality furnishings and finishes. Plenty of heat, hot water and fire wood. The grounds are beautiful and there’s a lovely patio area off the kitchen. It’s close to lots of places for day trips. Hard to find in the dark.It could be helpful to have a photo of the beautiful tree lined lane to the property on the website pointing out the entrance from the road. We will definitely be back.

  • "The house is beautiful and very comfortable, but there’s 2 things that I hope the owner will look at theres no wardrobe to hang your clothes and the AGA cooker that is not working."

I meant one hob was working the rest was not. I hired a chef for a day. it was a struggled to prefer and cook the food in a small cooker because the AGA cooker is not working besides from that everything are fine we had such a lovely time.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay."

The house was perfect, very clean and well maintained. It was all very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped and things were easy to use. The house manager was really friendly and helpful when we met him as he came to look after the garden. Lots to do in County Antrim. We will certainly consider coming back. We should have booked for two weeks.

  • "Some hanging facilities in each room for clothes plus in the showers for shampoo/soap etc."

would be great. No instructions on how to use aga, other cooker or dishwashers. If you don't have those brands at home its very difficult to use.

  • "We returned having previously enjoyed a fantastic time is this superb house."

Facilities and furnishings are first rate. Sadly the kitchen was again the only weakness. The Aga oven was still not working and the other cooker became temperamental. I understand a resolution is in hand and I hope the problems are sorted.

  • "This is a superb country house, warm and comfortable, maintained to a high standard."

The kitchen and pantry are outstanding, bedrooms very comfortable and two lounges that give extended families plenty of space. At present the grounds are lined with snowdrops and mature trees with a path to the River Dervock. Wild birds are plentiful. A house with interesting books is a home and we would revisit in the future.

  • "This is a superb property and very secluded location."

However, I found the cooking facilities do not match the size of the property. I needed the equipment I brought with me because the electric Aga and cooker was not enough. The smaller double bedroom has beds suitable for children not adults.

Thanks for your feedback. It is noted and we have reviewed this. There are two cooking ovens in the aga, plus a slow cook oven, plus two hobs on the aga. In addition, there is a supplemental oven with two shelves and an additional 4 hobs. There is also a warming drawer, two dishwashers, two double sinks and a pantry. The beds are shown in our photos as children's beds and listed on the listing as such. We hope you will consider coming again. Property Owner

  • "Only drawback there was no wardrobes or hanging facilities."

All dresses, shirts etc had to be kept in drawers which made them creased after they had all been carefully ironed.

You couldn’t ask for more really but just one little thing just a suggestion would be to have another TV somewhere for the adults as the kids loved their room and the rascals definitely weren’t sharing

It would have been nice to have an extra TV for the kitchen and a settee for a little comfort but this is only a suggestion not a complaint.

  • "The house was amazing!"

The rooms were large and comfortable and extremely well presented. We loved the welcome basket when we arrived, and the key collection instructions and directions were really easy to follow. We really didn't want to leave on our last day. The Causeway Coast was delightful, but it wouldn't have been the same holiday if we hadn't stayed at Knockanboy. We do have to apologise, though, for forgetting to clear out the fridge/freezer in our haste to depart. We were running late on our way to a family wedding, and totally forgot about the fridge; so sorry about that.

  • "The main bathroom' bathtub doesn't have a glass or curtain around and the floor drips all the water to the kitchen."

The owner didn't warn us for this, hence we have to clean the dirty bath water from the kitchen all day in our holiday. As if this wasn't enough to ruin our holiday, there hasn't been any apology and on top, they charged us an enormous amount because their house was broken. Stay away or they will keep renewing the house by charging you for everything!
