James and Edith made us feel welcome. They are warm-hearted and kind. Our kids enjoyed it very much. The farmhouse is well provided. You have everything (and more) you need. Lovely views. Freedom. Nearest town is a 15 minutes drive. We liked to be a bit remote. Going to the farmhouse is something you will not regret.

  • "A lovely cottage in a quiet rural setting."

Well appointed. On arrival we were greeted by the hosts Edith and Jim. As it was a cold day in May Edith had lit the fire in the front room which was wonderful. The directions to the cottage were spot on but the only thing I think was missing from them was the need to go through 2 gates before you actually arrive at the cottage. Overall a wonderful stay.

The cottage is spacious and extremely private, down a gated lane, surrounded by beautiful countryside. We had just about everything we needed and let the owner know about a couple of very minor issues. We enjoyed a very comfortable and relaxing week. It would be even better if there was a table and chairs or picnic bench for al fresco eating in the garden!

The location is special, offering great views of Antrim, but situated a mile from the main road and very secluded. That said, moving around the island was easy so it provided a great base for further exploration - we explored the North Coast, Belfast and Armagh during our stay. Perfect!

The farmhouse is so picturesque with everything inside that you would need and a lovely welcome pack when we arrived. It is super clean with lovely comfy beds. It truely is a home away from home. If you want peace and quiet then this is a place where you can just sit and recharge and listen to nature. Pet baby sheep and every so often listen to a cuckoo bird in the distance. The views surrounding the farmhouse are breathtaking. The village of Kells is nearby with a big shop and the much bigger town of Ballymena is only about 10 miles away. Our only one regret was having to leave.

  • "A wonderful well equipped cottage in a remote quiet location."

The owners met us on arrival and there was a welcoming fire lit in the hearth and a ‘starter pack’ of milk butter bread cheese and fruit. Please note however directions are not quite accurate! Postcode will bring you to the entrance lane - but the cottage itself is about half a mile down right at the end of that lane through 2 closed gates. Also - Kells village - when we visited - seemed to have absolutely no amenities;(pubs or restaurants)!! Better to turn sharp left at the entrance to the lane and go to Ballyclare - about 6 miles away.

The directions to reach the property were precise & we had no problem finding the house. We were met on arrival by Edith & James, with whom we had a friendly chat. The basket of goodies on the kitchen table was most welcome, as was the log fire in the living room. The cosy property had everything we needed & was a comfortable place to return to after our days out exploring the beautiful countryside. Rosy sunsets & dark starry skies too. Highly recommended!

From the peaceful fields filled with friendly sheep and cows, to the cozy fireplace in the living room, to the amazing sunsets, we could not have asked for a more beautiful location. This was our first time we visit to Northern Ireland, and it was very convenient to all of the sites we wanted to see, such as The Gobbins, the Titanic museum, and Giants Causeway. Yet the best part of every day was coming home, and having a chat with Edith and James as they tended to the animals. The house itself was lovely, with cute touches at every turn. Everything was comfortable and clean. We hope to come back to stay during Christmas time, as we had daydreams of baking cookies in the warm kitchen with our children. When we arrived, Edith and James gave us a lovely welcome , complete with a fire started in the fireplace and treats. I could not recommend a property higher than this one, and it is a true gem! Thank you so much for letting us stay!

It was exactly what we had wanted - quiet, comfortable and well equipped. A little tricky to find initially, the location was ideal to explore the eastern part of the province and we were able to visit all the places we had planned. We would have no hestitation in recommmending it, particularly if you like peace and quiet. For those who like hustle & bustle, maybe it could be a bit too quiet. We had few problems, only perhaps wifi which was a bit unstable during inclement weather. Would we go back again - certainly. We'd recommend it wholeheartedly.

We were shown into a lovely house with 2 roaring log fires in the lounge an kitchen, and a tray of essentials to get us started. We felt at home immediately. The owners were happy to stand and chat which made us feel really welcome. Once on our own and settled in we realised what a wonderful house it is. It was very well equipped and everything was clean, and even the bedding had been ironed, something you don't always get. It's in a lovely peaceful location with only birds, sheep, and cows for company, and really good views in every direction. Although the fields around are working fields, the owners didn't disrupt or inconvenience us in any way, more the other way round when we bumped into them!!! Would I go again? A resounding YES. Would I recommend it to others? Undecided as I'm unsure whether to keep it a secret, but certainly worthy of a recommendation. It's probably the best, or at least one of the best, cottages we've ever rented, and we've had quite a number over the years. Absolutely wonderful.

We’re given a wonderful welcome by Edith & James at the property & greeted on entering with two roaring fires & some provisions (very welcome as we had flown in, so unable to bring supplies). Everything clean & tidy, also good range of utensils in kitchen. Maps provided were very useful to get around as the car we hired didn’t have sat’ nav’. Didn’t expect top speed Wi-Fi (it’s a bit hit & miss) Also don’t expect a power shower! But you’re escaping ‘city life’. We absolutely loved, the remoteness of the location & even having to hop in & out to open the two gates each trip. Sadly missed seeing the lambs! Would certainly recommend this property as a brilliant location from which to see so many of N. Ireland’s wonderful treasures!!
