We love the cottage itself and the location is perfect. Henny at the Estate Office is always available to assist with any queries and the whole experience is one of relaxation.

  • "The cottage was very good, no complaints."

The only complaint is about the booking system. The only way to discover the cancellation policy is to book the cottage at which time you are informed there is a policy of no refunds. This is obviously an illogical procedure that needs reviewing.

  • "Exceptionally well maintained and equipped cottage, lovely welcome gifts (eggs, milk, juice, cake and a personalised card) including treats for my dog, which he loved."

Lots of towels and toilets rolls included (recently returned from a holiday in the Cotswolds where one small bath towel, one hand towel and about 2/3 of a loo roll per person, in a 5* rated cottage for one week). Beautiful setting on a very quiet road. Weather was amazing so I didn’t use the wood burner or heating but constant supply of hot water.

  • "This cottage was exceptionally comfortable and well thought out, with lots of extras, such as shelves full of spare towels, a second loo and utility room, a seven foot bed, a really excellent log fire, outdoor table and chairs, and a home-made tea bread waiting for us on arrival."

There was a feeling of light and space and good taste in the furnishings. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We are veterans of cottage stays and this ranks very highly. Some small suggestions: The directions provided by Sykes state that the cottage can be found on the left after turning into Annaghroe Road. The cottage is in fact on the right - we drove to and fro several times before locating it! The directions given by the owner are correct. We oiled the fridge door as it was dreadfully squeaky! The upstairs bathroom door is very difficult to close/lock, which might bother some people. The back door knob and the doorknob in the utility room loo are almost impossible to grip, especially with wet or sanitised hands. My other half got stuck in the utility room loo as he simply could not open the door! Clearly others have tried equally hard as the back door knob is coming away and needs screwing back in place. We were surprised that there was no reference to Covid in the cottage - no bags for used sheets and towels, no instructions for bagging them up, home-made baking provided, (we thought this was not allowed) cushions and throws supplied, no sanitiser etc. We actually found it very refreshing, (some places go over the top) but it was still a bit surprising. We did not want to leave!
