  • "We had a fantastic stay John & Kathleen's lovely people so kind and helpful."

We were visiting elderly sick family in the local area they were very good to our adult disabled sons. The farmhouse was the best we have ever been to and we are regular self catering in Scotland Wales Ireland and England the house is very spacious furnished to an exceptional high standard everything you need and more need it is home from home. Location is convenient for visiting the beautiful counties of Fermanagh Cavan Leitrim Sligo and Donegal. The view from Derriens Farmhouse is breathtaking looking over a lake and on to Boho mountain. As a family we would like to thank John and Kathleen again for making our stay so good which was a difficult time visiting our elderly relatives.

  • "We've had a lovely week in Fermanagh staying at Derriens farmhouse."

The property was so comfortable and a real treat to come back to after being out and about. It wad spacious enough for us all and there was nothing you could possibly need that wasn't in the house. Add to that the kindness of John when my brother in law got a bad puncture and it was the perfect place for a family get together. Thank you so much from all of us.

  • "An absolutely fantastic place to stay."

John and Kathleen made us very welcome form the moment we arrived. The scenic views from the house are beautiful. Nestled in a valley at the eastern point of Lower Lough McNean, the house is a stones throw form the lake and is surrounded by the most wonderful hills and countryside on both sides. Only 15 minutes’ drive from Enniskillen and access to all the shops you will need. The house was extremely well equipped and our hosts even left us starter supplies to get us settled in, you don’t get that sort of touch in the more commercial lets. The house has four main bedrooms three bathrooms. There is a wet room on the ground floor which is a god send if you have anyone with a disability or more frail individuals joining you. We had two children with disabilities, one with autism and one visually impaired and the wet room suited their needs perfectly. A good size reception room, lovely large kitchen with all the appliances you need and a great sitting area at the rear of the house. The house is on a working farm but it doesn’t impact on your stay and the children with us loved seeing the young calves in the surrounding fields. We took two small boats with us to fish on the lake and John the host gave us access to the shore to launch them. For any fishing enthusiasts among your company the lake has a great stock of pike, bream, roach an perch. You may be lucky enough to land a nice brown trout. For walkers and hikers, you will be spoilt for choice, Cuilcagh mountain and the famous “Stairway to Heaven” is a must do. Cladagh Glen, Marble Arch Caves, Florence Court House, Castle Crom, and Pollnagollum Cave, which was used in filming for the popular television series, Game of Thrones are all nearby. Enniskillen has a host of attractions and you are an hour or so from the coast, Sligo, Donegal etc. If you get bored in this beautiful area, you are tired of life. We had a wonderful week thanks to John and Kathleen and the only regret was not booking it for longer. We were all so impressed that we will book it again for the same week next year. Can’t wait to go back

  • "We've been coming to Fermanagh fishing for about 45 years and this is the best House we have ever stayed in without doubt."

The owners John and Kathleen could not of been more help full and nothing was too much trouble. The house it's self was spotlessly clean and so comfortable. Now for the negative side ! Well we could not find any, because everything was perfect and we have already booked it again for next year. If you have children they will love it seeing the cattle, in fact it was brilliant for us seeing two newly delivered calf's that were born while we where staying there. 100% RECOMMENDED

  • "We were warmly welcomed by Kathleen and John who turned out to be the most generous and helpful hosts you could ever wish to meet."

They went out of their way to make us comfortable and provided a lovely welcome pack of food for our arrival. The accommodation is extremely well provided for - even for a large family we found everything we needed. The house is both clean and cosy, and felt instantly like a home from home. We found the surroundings very peaceful and the children loved the animals and the lake walks. Derriens Farmhouse is a wonderful place to explore Fermanagh. Set in a quiet and truly beautiful location it is perfect for families. We will definitely be returning.

  • "This is by far the best accommodation we have stayed in."

Extremely welcoming hosts. Amazing welcome pack of such lovely food. The views from within the house and grounds are stunning- beautiful mountains and lough, with access to the lough. So peaceful and relaxing. Lovely to see the cows on the farm. Despite the house being on the edge of a farm , the grounds are so clean all around and very quiet. We all loved it and our dog too. The house has everything you could need and is very spacious . Has excellent access for those with mobility issues/require a wheel chair with a further very well built entrance, downstairs bedroom and wet room. There is access from this to the huge kitchen, hall and living room all big enough for a wheelchair.10 mins drive from Enniskillen. So much to do to suit all within the local area without having to travel far. Can not recommend this Farmhouse or the hosts highly enough. We will be back !

John and Kathleen are excellent hosts and were very helpful and generous with far more provided than we could reasonably have expected. The cottage is very well equipped with everything we could ever need and was warm and cosy despite staying during November. We hope to return for another stay in the near future.

  • "The Derrins FarmHouse in Fermanagh is a fantastic holiday home."

The location is perfect, situated at the end of a private lane offering the rural farm setting, whilst also being nearby to a busy town of Enniskillen. John and Kathleen are superb hosts, they were on hand once we arrived to provide a quick tour and a how to guide on the house and it’s amenities. The house is situated on a working farm but John and Kathleen never encroached on our stay and went above and beyond helping with anything that’s needed. The house is massive, with a separate entrance offering disability access and shower room. It has stunning views and a beautiful lake in the back garden that. The old Trainline makes for an ideal walk on a nice straight flat surface. The house is equipped with all everything you need. Located nearby you have the award-winning MacNean bistro and serval pubs and restaurants. For the more active you have the Florence court caves and Stairway to heaven Cuillagh walk. I couldn’t recommend this property enough and it’s certainly one we’ll be returning to in the future. Thanks again John and Kathleen.
